  • they com and took him

  • Tochi take note

  • thanks for this instructional video,it has helped me to improve on my improvisation!!have you done some other video lessons about jazz improvisation???

  • have guitar die???

  • Thats a pretty impressive device, but as a guitar and bass teacher, one of my biggest challenges is to get my students to stop using thier eyes and start using thier ears. They should be listening for notes, not looking for them. Try making the same device for a trumpet or saxaphone.

Other than that, the solos sound sweet.

"Suicide is painless" Yeah I heard the mash theme too.

  • The Visualizer is a plugin, not a stand-alone application. The Midi Fretboard visualizer can be used as a plugin in all (Windows) VSTi compatible programs (e.g. Cubase, Logic, Cakewalk/Sonar, Reaper, etc), and can be used to visualize the guitar midi files in the jazz exercises package in real time, while they are playing. In combination with the mp3 files, you can hear the recorded sound simultaneously, while watching the fretboard.

  • I like your interpertation.

But I'm also curious what this system is made up of? Looks like a guitar with LEDs in the fretboard, possibly wired in parallel with a midi controller of sort.

    Can you describe please?

  • lol its software

  • haha yeah! i dont understand... i have seen a guitar with LEDs insinde once... which model is this ??? ^^

  • ha ha...sounds like level 3 starts with a hint of the M*A*S*H theme. intentional?

  • HAHAHA, it does!

  • don't think it was intentional though :P it's just a classic pattern going "downwards" in the scale

  • I just played this song in improv. class last week and I totally busted out mash without meaning to. sometimes that happens in jazz you inadvertently reference like commercial jingles etc.... it can be pretty amusing.

  • GOOD!!BRAZIL!!VINI

  • Very nice. I prefer improvistions that always refer to the original tune.

  • what scale u using mate? pentatonic? any ideas what the program is called and did u use a midi keyboard or play live with a guitar? thanks

  • Some scales I use for this type of song are minor scales, pentatonic scales (For the bluesy feel) and you can force whole-tone scales against this. For the bridge diminished scales go well. Get Warren Nunes book 'Solo Patterns'. Main thing is let the music get to you.

  • Thanks Matt. You´re Great.

  • Oh fuck... The website dosen't work... I really loved this.

  • great!!!

  • i cannot hear anythng

  • wheres the shredding?

  • What does "shredding" means?

  • It a slang which means to play the guitar solo really fast, like tearing the freatboard to pieces.

  • why anyone wants to do this?

is it like cooking fast, eating fast or having sex fast?

Personally I prefer to do eviything as slow as posible and fun.

If anyone needs speed there must be a deep hole in his/her heart.

It's easy to fill the hole with peace, love, melodies, respect, good food, sports, more love...then we will never need to shred nevermore

  • Wrong - variety is the spice of life.

  • You completely missed the point here.

  • nice !!

  • Great!!!

  • This is such a great way to actually see the notes and get a sense of the improvisational elements involved. Thank you. Nigey

  • What software are you using?

  • Thanks.

  • Thankyou very much. This is very melodic.

  • nice... can you send me the full song.. i would greately appriciate it.. i liek it .. i wanna listen to it on my mp3 player.. thnx
