Master oyster needs to re read 8 ball rules. You made the 1 ball in the side on the break then you made 7 stripes and the 8 ball. 2nd shot was a foul you were supposed to shoot solids. Unless there is a rule I dont know about that says if you jump your cue ball 10 feet in the air you can shoot any ball you want. You lose
@chevytech26 You may need to re-read the rules. Official World Rules 4-11 states that choice of group stripes or solids is not determined on the break even if balls are made from only one or both groups, because the table is always open immediately after the break shot. The choice of group is determined only when a player legally pockets a called object ball after the break shot.
@chevytech26 I dont think you understand that there are different rules, He played the rack to perfection, Only a handful of leagues do you get stuck with what you make on the break, Maybe educate yourself before commenting
@ki21826 The DVD series is a progressive system as you are seeing the pieces fit together one at a time in the correct learning order. English (spin) requires many prerequisites that are necessary in order to calculate, perform and references to change the spins for each shot. Specifics on the actual spins start on Volumes 4 & 9 and continue into 5 & 10.
@ki21826 The pro pocket reducers when used will make your pocket openings up to 30% smaller. My pockets are permanently shimmed to 4.5" so if I use the reducer the pockets will be 3.15". Standard American balls are 2.25".
Thanks - frankly didn't expect a response, that's great.
I guess my point would be that, for those of us that run out frequently - it's a no brainer. For folks who get a big benefit from watching run outs (lesser skilled players) being able to see if it was top/right, bottom/right, etc would help them understand. Not only the basic drop of the 7th object, but how to get the cue to effect a breakout on the 8.
Yes, the break wasted energy, but you deal, and make the runout. My comment on that would be; saw the pattern, tracked it - including the either/or choice on the far rail. My beef is ~~set the camera up so we can see the entire green!~~ I'm counting, and know there must be one off to the bottom left, but without seeing how it's approached in order to break out the 8, well, leaves quite a bit unsaid doesn't it?
@shannonomn Sorry I didn't realize that until after I filmed this. The table views on my DVD series cover the entire table for you. What are you referring to with what isn't seen? This was a simple run-out no matter where the 7th ball was.
@zhmichael yea i hope its the idiots judging the break or trying to act professional. The break was cool , showed skill and control. Def. would be intimidated on the table.
Yes, you are correct, as far as the cue ball contact on the rack. However to focus more closely on the physical mechanics of speed development and then adjust accordingly to maximize the hit is more important. The ball launching was just an added dramatic effect I am able to do on cue.
While I agree it's useless to make the cue ball fly right up to Heavens, I'd be completely satisfied with making "just one" ball on the break for the remainder of my days, that is, the option to run out - don't need more than one down on the break!
The fact that the cueball jumped means all that energy was wasted and not put into the rack. Who cares about the energy created, all you should care about is energy that is put into the pack. The fact is that you could of gotten the same spread easily with ALOT less power.
Not to mention that there is no way I am standing anywhere near a pool table whilst your breaking for fear of losing an eye from a flying billiard ball or crasing light.
@mtb2004uk I kinda wish he played you and he messed up by some chance and the cue ball hit ur nose and broke it for being a retarded troll. He wouldn't have done that if there was a light around the pool table, second he has ball controll probably what you don't have on the table or with ur gf. 3rd of all intimidation factor plays a big roll in pool. if you are intimidated against a player your focus goes out the window. Imagine playing efferen reyes, you would never have a chance if ...
Yes, I break all "power breaks" from this spot. I use the rail so I can maximize my forward body movement without slamming into the table. You need to be more accurate however with proper technique it is "POWERFUL" and feels Great! I have broken 2 cue balls in half so far, one can be sen on DVD Volume #3. Cheers, Oyster
Your combination of deliberate action with fluidity has had a profound effect on my actions at the table. Also great tunes in all your posts. What is playing in this one?
LIGHTS BROKEN AND LANDED ON THE UPPER BALCONY!!!!! AND 30 FEET IS THE LENGTH OF 2 AND A HALF FULL SIZE SNOOKER TABLES!!!!! I play Snooker and I know hoe long they are. YOU HAVE GOT TO SHOW US IN A VIDEO...PLEASE!!!
Yes, REALY!!! My next class in Vermont at the Billiard Sanctuary is April, I will film it and post here! I have cracked 3 cue balls completely in half from my Break. One during tournament in MI, half the cue ball hit the rack and I made a ball. That is crazy but real! Thanks for the comments! Have an AWESOME day!
It is very possible with a break speed over 27mph. I have popped the cue ball up over 30 feet in the Sanctuary in Vermont landing it on the upper balcony many times. IT IS A VERY REAL 6 OZ ARAMITH TV BALL. I have broken many a lights in my time. "KNOWLEDGE IS POWER!

Yes, that is all that is required to continue to shoot, more importantly is that they are all spread out nicely for the run out.

For a ball to reach 30 feet it needs vertical velocity of about 45mph or 20 m/s.
