  • Why post videos explaining what people are saying. Unless your translating from one language to another, I can listen for myself. No offense, but either post the video straight, or go create your own formula.

  • Wayy too many pauses in the first half of vid. But as usual your dissections of NLP is very very comprehensive. Too much discussion of message instead of the kinesthetic anchors, imho, though.

  • what is nlp?

  • Hi SatoshiBatista,

NLP stands for neuro-linguistic programming. There is a thousand different definitions for it and I plan to create a short video soon.

But for now NLP is the study of how people experience the world and can be calculated from it. In simple terms NLP is concerned with the study of human excellence and creating effective models that enable other people to achieve similar results as the person who was the exemplar. Bottom line is you can do many cool things with it!

  • Tony Robbins is pretty clear about what he talks about.. i don't think it warrants a play by play... nothing really gained here other than overmodulated audio

  • Hi FLPman, thanks for your input.

This video isn't so much concerned with what Tony is saying is how he is using various communication processes to setup ideas, build states and trigger emotions in his listeners.

    Live with passion! :)

  • Well said waste of time

  • What amazes me about all this NLP, as a successful person myself, is that you really cannot teach it. I do all this stuff without any thought. It's a myth that you can be what you're not- it starts with loving others, not trying to control them.

  • thx for this... good analysis but please adjust your sound levels and speed...very distracting

  • thnx it helped me to understand how desperet im in comunication :)

  • where i can watch this video without the explanation thing?

  • sorry don't know - was floating on YouTube.

  • can you send me a video or map of instructions on how to use this method or how it works

  • It's possible but unless you are already skilled in several areas, it would be akin to giving you a blueprint for a formula 1 car. Doing what Tony is demonstrating here is a big jump, after thousands and thousands of hours of practice.

Start smaller. Practice evoking and anchoring states. If you want to learn how to do that, I've created a free anchoring course, here at tiny.cc forward slash howtoanchor

    Hope you enjoy.

  • Over ANALyzing much?

Anybony know who julian from the trailer park boys is? Tony is looks just like him in his all black get up.

  • hi anthonyavelar, thanks for the feedback and the colourful capitals ;-)

    Over ANALyzing... compared to what?

Of course not everyone is going to enjoy the stop-starts or the insights. As Tony would say "in life there are dabblers and their masters". You choose what you want to be. In some areas you will be a master, in many others a dabbler. It's true for all of us.

Tony choose to master the art of communication. It's one of the most important skills you can cultivate in your life.

  • This is a great video by Tom... it shows that he is a master of NLP

but I still think this video is over analyzed though

  • Self-help movement is about our individual learning process.

Off course "All" that surrounds us it´s important for our choices, of what we want to be. All the examples and choices. I mean to be ourselves and that´s the most evaluating freedom experience we could have. To brings us new natural differentiated beings and evaluation. Try to paint as Leonardo did...or to make a theory like Einstein... I beat you have your own way to do it, and for these reasons your are a wonderful human being.

  • Tony tells it like it is .Often times people do not try because they do not want to fail. However by not trying failure is guaranteed.

  • wow that is very detailed how many years does it take to master NLP like this ?

  • Getting good with NLP is quite easy. The situation for most people is the won't do the practice. Tony talks about "repetition being the mother of all skills" in his programs. He regularly drills in "have you done your assignments!!?"

He knows that most folk won't/don't/aren't motivated enough to do the work to get the skill. But if your interested then getting good with NLP is very achievable.

  • Where can i learn to use these techniques that Tony is using?

  • actually this was pretty good. just not used to the amount of detail scrutinizing the underlying sales pitches, nlp anchors, physiological wiring, etc. nice.

  • Interesting. Mr. Robbins is getting at the positive through the negative.

    Thanks for posting.

  • its more than just body language - google it

    NLP

  • NLP times, can you summarize your comments? what's the point? are you 'for' or 'against' Robbins' message? or what else are you trying to show/ explain exactly? I don't really get it.

  • Hi Animalll2003lll, the video is just an explanation of some of the NLP style patterns that Tony is using that aren't obvious to a lay person. It's not a vote for or against Tony. Personally I enjoy much of what he's done and he had been a big ambassador for the self-help movement. Be well.

  • thanks for great video:)

  • Obama is a great communicator and no doubt well trained in art of communication. I'll take a look at a few of his presentations and see about making some videos.

Natural is the best word for it. A great communicator, is able to do so much all the while appearing completely natural.

  • Wow, very interesting.

I use to be into Tony, went to UPW, got Personal Power. It wasn't for me, but I did learn about his influencing skill, persuasion, nlp techniques.

Not to get off tangent, but Obama is very, very similar to Tony in his communication. He looks, "Tony Robbins trained". nlptimes, a video of the two side by side would be interesting. Or a comparison of techniques.

They look "natural", but they're master communicators. Tony is one of the best communicators in the world.

  • they are masters of communication because they communicate with people all the time.

  • I have just noticed this based upon this videos analysis:

It was a good choice for Tony to be wearing all black and have a background that is also dark so that his hand movements can best be seen due to their contrast in color.

    P.S. Regarding "deecharming's" comment:

Mr. O'Connor, you may 'pause' the video and comment whenever you like since I appreciate this analysis.

  • You have some awesome videos, I hope you post more videos!

  • Mr. O'Connor, I am interested in the NLP techniques Tony uses and I am curious as to which book is the best one to learn from? Thanks for the video - great stuff!!

  • Anthony crawl in is a success coach and I would wish itself which it to Germany would come or which it a film in German language would give became.

  • Ooops sorry for calling you 'Times' Mr O'connor.

I need to work on my active listening...

    Peace.

    x

  • Great walkthrough 'Times'

I look forward to more of your posts.

    Thank you.

    Peace.

  • Ouch, blow by blow. I think you read too much into it. It's just speaking expressively with your body. It's not a science, you just do it...naturally or not at all...else it looks planned. If you don't do this naturally, then speaking on a stage probably isn't for you. It should be a natural manifestation of who you are...but good luck anyway.

  • Thanks for the feedback BigBirdy. Of course it looks natural and expressive - Tony is one of the top communicators out there - you'd be greatly mistaken though if you thought Tony wasn't intentional about how he communciates and using NLP techniques like seeding beliefs, anchoring etc with the audience. Check out his book Unlimited Power - it will give you a very good introduction.

  • I'm with NLPTimes on this. Tony openly admits he got into "life coaching" by learning NLP techniques. I only know a little about NLP, but from what I've listened to & read, NLP is a VERY Intentional device. The littlest things from hand gestures to eye movements are used in NLP to help create different emotional states & responses in the listener. I think Tony is great, motivational, and inspiring. But he is a product of techniques that got him to this level of success - i.e. NLP.

    GREAT POST :)

  • I dunno, I use the same "anchoring" and "framing" naturally when I'm speaking. No NLP studying here. It's just natural. Are you sure you're not reading too much into this?

  • We all do it all the time. It's the power though, to be conscious of you doing it. By becoming conscious of it you can work with your anchors&frames; you are being given more choices about your anchors&frames.

You could for instance create anchors & frames consciously, you could notice anchors&frames within other people, you could notice & alter unproductive anchors/frames of yours, etc..

We all need&use anchors/frames to survive as a human. Being able to work with them enhances our lives.

  • It's the passion which attracts attention and convinces. And passion is energy so it pushes you forward. And it is attractive as well.

  • I love Tony Robbins...I am listening to "Awaken the Giant Within" while I was surfing...thanks for the video

    blessings,

    Wendy

  • Yes it is body language and then he builds people up and down and take them to many level's hopes and dreams...Thanks

  • Tony Robbins gave me the body I deserve!

    Thanks Tony!

    Deanna

  • Yes,it is an anchor, it looks spontaneous but is not. I studied body languaje and NLP and anchors are supose to look casual.

  • btw I don't think that hand gesture is an anchor

It's just a casual, spontaneous move Tony loves to use
