I love what you did with this. Excellent series and would have loved it to go on longer. Unfortunatly they had to make half the cast cylons in disguise and turn it into a fucking soap opera episode of 'who's my hybrid babie's daddy? My identical robot twin's boyfriend who doesn't know hes a robot too and can't tell us apart? You dirtbag!" I wish the guys that did b5 had done Galactica.

@valis1983 No problem, Singer was set to do his version, even built Vipers, but then 911 happened and interest dropped off (who wants to see a surprise attack after an actual surprise attack). Everything was demolished, and Singer went off making movies.

@valis1983 after investigating your correct and wrong at the same time. Singer tried to get a TV series going but the 911 attacks caused interest to fade out. Now it seems that Rotten Tomatoes reports that Singer has been commissioned to do a Battlestar Galactica movie. I personally think its a stupid idea to have so many different versions of Galactica.

@proximajoe no the new movie is a sequel to the original series and totaly ignores Galactica 1980. all the original actors save Lorne Greene ( may he rest in peace) are going to be in it. plus glen larson, i believe, is going to be directing it

they use it in the first and in the last episode of battlestar galactica (the decomission what was a setback for everything(u see the columbia and the atlantia(in the series an columbia class battlestar in the homeworld 2 game its own class of super battlestar) getting pownd because of the virus.

Actually they did use the theme through the series. It's the Colonial Anthem; the anthem of the colonies. In the miniseries when the Vipers fly by the gift shop side of Galactica, you can hear the colonial anthem. There are more examples, but I'm tired and have to go to work.

The Ronald D. Moore "Battlestar Galactica" starts in the miniseries and then moves on to season 1-4. You should have started there. As for the old theme, it's also used at the end of the episode where D'Anna Biers (Lucy Lawless) makes her documentary.

This is exactly why I'm glad he did reimagine it. I was geared up to dislike the new BSG because I expected it to be some fanboys fantasy geek sci fi. The only reason i was won over was because the new BSG portrayed it as gritty and realistic and painfully human. You reminded me of why I love the show so much, because it was NOT like this.

Two different shows set in a similar universe. Old BSG fanboys have theirs, us non fanboys have the new one.

Ron Moore would never do something like this...somehow having a grand, majestic theme song is "unrealistic," and Lords of Kobol forbid anything in his dumb-ass show is "unrealistic." Can't even have lasers in the new series. WTF?!?

But did you like it? Remember I did this for fun, not to suggest that Ron Moore would do this. As for "unrealistic", the point of any successful entertainment is the suspension of disbelief. Everyone that enjoyed Iron Man should agree with that. Or any fan of Boy and/or girl singing groups that believe that they can actually sing perfectly, without losing breath or screwing lines, while doing complex dance movements. They can't be lipsynching can they?

@raz0r3dg3 ..yep i agree, although Bear MCceary did some outstanding music for the new BSG which fit that version of the show i always felt the main theme was its weakest point and might have turned off some people before they watched the show.....i would have thought Glen Larson would have made the original main theme "automatic"...like Lucas does with anyone producing anything that has to do with Star Wars.

Hey, I just want to add my voice to the chorus of people giving you props. This really holds true to the original (the second to last fleet shot really did for it me). I love the new show way more than I ever loved the original (which I watched religiously as a kid). I like the new soundtrack, too, it fits the show, even if I miss the grandiose original theme. So this was a nice marriage of both. Far more successful than the slapdash attempts in Razor, actually, which just felt a little sad

I like that the original music pops up here and there in the new show, as the "Colonial Anthem" -- it's a nice touch, since it's a great theme.
