Are you a professional musician or just a talented amateur? I enjoyed your interpretation on this piece, you put a lot of emotion into an instrument of which that is hard to do.
Great playing! I have played this piece in a harpsichord too ( i am studying piano and Organ but sometimes i mess arround with the harpsichord.) But the sad fact is that the harpsichord in my conservatory is really really old and bad preserved so its sound is aweful...But generally as a matter of fact (for all harpsichords) it is really easy to miss a note when you are used to playing piano. It has all the time couplers on and to sound like a Harpsichord i have to put the octave setting on...
BEAUTIFUL! Who says the harspsichord cannot sing? This is just magical. I think we need to hear many more performances of such works on period instruments. I have recently heard the clavichord - it sounds a bit like a cross between a harpisichord and a piano.
it sounds great, my harpsichord teacher has a mietke copy too, i cant remember who made it though
ive got a roger palmer flemish harpsichord here at my house, but its not mine, its my teacher's. but so far of all his harpsichords that ive played, the best has been the mietke copy.
anyway, keep up your playing, its simply magical to watch you play!
they are set to pluck different sets of strings, what im used to is that the upper manual is more delicate, however on most dual manual haprsichord you can set it so that both manuals are played.
i may be wrong though as ive only ever played one double manual harpsichord in my life haha
u play with real sensitivity and taste..bach has to be played pure without any glen gould sentimentality..the player is not of interest. what about the great german suites? and FROBERGER!
It's a copy of and German harpsichord still conserved at the castle of Charlottenburg in Berlin. Go to William Horn web site to get more info, if you like
ooo very well done, I also have played this piece and always wondered about the speed, well I will use your tempo in future :) , I played little faster
grande pathos. Una delle poche interpretazioni che faccia capire la profondità di questo pezzo bellissimo.

Tempo wise, I'll play like you on the guitar ;)
I like the graciousness and elegance of this allemande; and it seems this relaxed tempo is the best way to express it. Thanks for posting.

absolutely beautiful. who do/did you study with? how come you show only your hands in the videos (not that it matters to the music)?
skymeetsworld 2 years ago
I studied in Italy, since I am Italian! ;-)
I only show my hands since I want to focus the attention to the music and the performance style rather than myself.
Thanks for watching!

Sorprendente! E 'veramente emozionante vedere giocare la musica così dolcemente e quasi in maniera romantica!

How oft when thou, my music, music play'st,
Upon that blessed wood whose motion sounds
With thy sweet fingers when thou gently sway'st
The wiry concord that mine ear confounds,
Do I envy those jacks that nimble leap,
To kiss the tender inward of thy hand,
Whilst my poor lips which should that harvest reap,
rustydog1236 4 years ago
At the wood's boldness by thee blushing stand!
To be so tickled, they would change their state
And situation with those dancing chips,
O'er whom thy fingers walk with gentle gait,
Making dead wood more bless'd than living lips.
Since saucy jacks so happy are in this,
Give them thy fingers, me thy lips to kiss.
