Thanks for sharing! great guide... I have a couple of new LiPo batteries coming in today that i need to swap over to Traxxas connectors... I'll be follwoing this guide to a T and hopefully end up with some solid connections like you did :)
Thanks for your replies and I have to apologise, you are right & I'm wrong....... you see it's my age I'm loosing my mind as I'm getting awder (older) but my comments and veiws are much bawder (bolder) now. Maybe it's the weather? It is getting alot cawder (colder) these last few weeks?........ What ever it is I've kept all your comments in a little fawder (folder) for future reference
@Mykidrm You really don't know how to pronounce solder or are you just trolling? According to American Heritage dictionary it's pronounced |ˈsädər| . Great video by the way.
Now I see why my soldering jobs don't work very well. You recommend an iron for at least 40 watts, I bought a cheap little iron at walmart that only does 20 watts.
@c1rca121 No, I have never been charged anything at the door, as long as you value it less than $80 (you get to choose at the checkout). If you pay with credit card you also get charged a $3, so I use PayPal.
Your electronics could fry if you leave it on that long. Place the tip between the wire and the plate and heat up both. Then connect them and place the tip on top. Much easier. And don't you struggle with placing the tab/plate inside the plastic connector? It pissed me off so much I went to all deans.
@lancer2589 I just tried your tip you gave me to heat up the tab and the with at the same time then place them together, it takes a bit to get the hang of but it works great.
@dumle29 Tecause The flux in the rosin core solder dose not corrode your joint once it set. But the acid in acid core solder is still active after you have soldered with it, so it would corrode your joints, and is usually meant for higher oxidization levels, such as copper plumbing pipes.
@shotgunpainted that's what I was thinking, and when i view the links youtube cuts off the last half anyways so that you don't have three lines of text making up one link.
that is so good and helpful thanx..
