Great video,I've always wanted to fly concord!! I was able a see and go inside the one in Seattle(at airplane museum)nit the same but I felt her beautiful presence!!!
Really enjoyed your video...thankyou. one question though where did you leave from and what was your destination. Also how long did it take? Thankyou :)
The flight over the pacific the concord would be an perfect addition to current fleets. Hopefully, it is re-introduced some day, or some other supersonic airliner.
It makes me angry that we haven't advanced this technology for commercial flight!!! There's been thousands of crashes with prop and jet planes. So Concords had a few issues yes, but with advancing technology and research, this should be the way forward!! Flights in less than half time should be standard! We have gone backwards and it is such a shame.... Imagine London to Sydney in 11 hours, London to Newyork in 3! You could almost go for a weekend getaway at those speeds:)
@phanoonk i agree. with todays tech the manufacturers of Concorde could make a supersonic airplane 100% better because of the advantages of tech we are living with now. imagine flying at mach 3 or 4. If mach 2 was possible in the 1960s mach 4 is definitely achievable today. Lets see if anyone does. Mach 4 would mean LHR to JFK in i dunoo 1 hour 40mins? If a new Concorde was made it would be amazing. an if an ordinary person could travel supersonically = £ no 1 wants to spend 8 hours in a plane
I had the pleasure of flying on Concorde twelve times, every time it was in seat 2A (a window seat, the best). The take-off is so powerful one is literally pushed back into your seat, yet when travelling at mach 2 you would never know the difference. A magnificent plane, so sad that it had to go! I wonder when the next supersonic passenger plane will arrive?
@warlord4290 I had the pleasure of flying on Concorde twelve times, every time it was in seat 2A (a window seat at the very front, the best!) The take-off is so powerful one is literally pushed back into your seat, yet when travelling at mach 2 you would never know the difference. A magnificent plane, so sad that it had to go! I wonder when the next supersonic passenger plane will arrive? I paid around £8,100 return
As a kid I flew Concorde in the late 80's. I remember it like it was yesterday, The amazing take off, entering the edge of space. I remember looking out my window and I was able to see the curvature of the earth. The pretty British flight attendants...what a memory. I miss you Concorde.
amazing video my friend also had the opportunity to travel on the Concorde is a fantastic and impossible to describe what it feels like inside the plane will congratulate you for your contribution always be remembered as the ship over to the shadowy concorde air transport.
couldn't see a thing because of all the shaking! What happened to everything during the flight like the service, the food etc? the land in the UK looks just like the land in the US, more on the actual plane other than just out the window would've been good.
Great stuff. I got to fly on it in 82' from Wash DC to Heathrow...just fantastic! Even got a visit to the cockpit as we were coming in over the south coast of England. I'll never forget it. Cheers!
The most beautifully engineered, graceful and amazing airliner of all time and they just had to ruin it for me. I was hoping to fly in one. I swear if i win the lottery or 5 million i will have one flying again.
I know, I was there that day, well, I live literally on the end of the runway! Not then, I do now though. You like Cardiff then? Cute little airport! Lol!
It simply wasnt cost effective anymore (esp after 9/11 and the Paris accident). I understand Airbus stopped making "spare parts" for it as well. Why one can't remain flying, for historical purposes if nothing else, is beyond me.
great video - it sent me back to the 12th september 1989 - when i boarded concorde - heathrow to jfk - one of the higlights of my life to date :) thanks for the footage - and yeah it was everything and more

billytucker100, i loved your video mate, it's great to see inside the British Airways Concorde its sad to see it retired but Concorde will be remembered as a Truly a Best Supersonic Aircraft. And I Loved this music too.
What a shame! This modern age of aircraft should still be flown nowadays! I've been dreamed of flyin with it. Anyway can I know what engine that this aircraft use?
Beautiful Aircraft, I photographed The aircraft at Manchester on its retirement, I have a private collection over 400 images, will be placeing them on Ebay again soon, when i get the time, will be selling 8x10 photographs. any comercial interests out there, I have sold lots, would like to sell them worldwide.

1st you would have to be able to afford to fly in the Concorde-2nd they pulled the Concorde after the tragic crash due to fod on the run way, 3rd last I heard the couple out there are not in flight anymore due to the crash. Am I in error that the Plane is not active anylonger?

awesome!BUT IT HAD TO GO BECAUSE BOEING DIDNT LIKE IT!!! it was such a slap in the face for them that we had a supersonic airliner.look at the billions they threw into developing the russian clone "concordski"which failed in spectacular fashion! after the crash they said to ba and air france they would cease to supply new aircraft and parts for Boeing fleet unless Concorde was retired!Look at Boeings safety record the worst of any aircraft manufacturer on the planet, bar none W rs!!!

that made no fucking sense at all. the reason it was retired was because of the immense cost of operation. i dont think many regular people had the 10000$ for a round trip to the US. boeing had nothing to do with the concordes retirement.
billytucker 100: You wrote in the description "The edge of space". Concorde flew at about 10.42-11.37 miles (55000-60000 feet). Space "officially" begins at 62 miles (327,360 feet, although it can go up to 400000 feet-depending on several factors). 11 miles is only about 1/6 of the way to space so therefore the concorde cannot be on "The edge of space".
Very clever, I am a victim of hyperbole! oh, and I'm guessing that I've at least been closer to space than you have :-), please excuse my inaccuracies.
Then I'd say congratulations, and wish you well, and welcome you to use all the hyperbole in the world! 'cause you'd be a lucky bugger! Maybe take one of the Virgin flights in a year or two, they promise the true edge of space.
the closet you cant ge to space in an aircraft is either with the Blackbird plane which cost about $2 Billion to build, or use a ramjet but that is not very conventional.
lovely vid mate. As for concorde in cruise, they turn off afterburner at approx Mach 1.6 and then climb until they reach Mach 2.0 Then if the speed drops they decend and if the speed increases above M2.0 they climb - flying literally in a wave fashion - maintining M2.0!
Just toured the 2nd Concorde Ive been on tpday, (Museum of Flight, Seattle, WA-Intrepid Museum, NY,NY) Damn amazing plane! They dont build em like they use to.
That Aircraft belongs to the sky and never in a uggly museum, but nasa and boeing trying to change that, the concorde was the most beautyfull aircraft in the world.
did you watch the video? there's a shot of the altometer at 60,000 ft... Also,t he captain mentions that we traded altitude to hit mach 2 dropping back down to 50,000ft.
Wow, That looked fantastic, what an honour that must have been, Ive only ever seen the concorde once in my life when it flew over my house in England and i was gobsmacked by that
man that was really cool, when you guys cheered them on at take off, i mean how cool! i wish i was ther, man it must be cool to be thrusted to the speed of sound in like 2 seconds.. mann!
Billytucker 100 - what a great video. You truly captured that special feeling you get while onboard. Everyone acts like children in a giant toy-store!
I have had the experience myself and I also did make a short video about it. The two movies are somewhat similar but again different. You can see my version by clicking on my profile. The movie is named "Inside the Concorde"
very nice video. It's so bad that the concorde would never be flying. Thats the greatest and gracilest plane I'ver ever seen. Is there anybody who knows the name of the last song after the landing?
This is a fantastic video - great music too - tears came to my eyes at the end. It was a very sad day when the Concord was retired. So happy you posted this I will be showing this video to everyone who comes to visit my home !!!!!

Your flight was the 10am Concorde.
I'm very happy for you winning the tickets and living the dream, great video.
On 21 Oct 2003 i flew to New York on Concorde and loved every second of it. I flew home from New York at 6.40am on 23 Oct.
Before i went to my house i waited (with a BBC London tv crew) to see your take off.
While i took photos of your take off BBC London filmed me.
Your take off looked very fast and very steep, wow you must have really felt the G-forces.

Then I'd say congratulations, and wish you well, and welcome you to use all the hyperbole in the world! 'cause you'd be a lucky bugger! Maybe take one of the Virgin flights in a year or two, they promise the true edge of space.
billytucker100 4 years ago
the closet you cant ge to space in an aircraft is either with the Blackbird plane which cost about $2 Billion to build, or use a ramjet but that is not very conventional.

This flight looks like it was From London Heathrow to Cradiff Wales.
pazza1981 4 years ago
well spotted, this flight was part of the Tour of Britain, on the second to last day that BA's Concorde fleet were in service.
billytucker100 4 years ago
Wow what a very personal video. That was a cool flight. From where was this flight from and to where?
sam19ny1 4 years ago
lovely vid mate. As for concorde in cruise, they turn off afterburner at approx Mach 1.6 and then climb until they reach Mach 2.0 Then if the speed drops they decend and if the speed increases above M2.0 they climb - flying literally in a wave fashion - maintining M2.0!
Again - TOP VID! 5 Stars !

Again, great job!

WTF is a "comp?"

"what the fuck" seems a little strong given the question don't you think? a Comp is a competition.
billytucker100 4 years ago
very nice video. It's so bad that the concorde would never be flying. Thats the greatest and gracilest plane I'ver ever seen. Is there anybody who knows the name of the last song after the landing?
