Umm I don't know how to say this but...sometimes when you think you're hamster is dead their actually just going into hibernation. A lot of pet owners has mistakenly discarded what was though to be a dead hamster. The tall tell sign it is still alive is it's very shallow and slowed breath. Sometimes moving your hamster to a warmer area or adjusting the temp will wake them up.

my hamster died from some tumor in her stomach.She lived with a hole in her stomach for awhile that would "explode" blood sometimes. I talked to the vet and he said to put veggie oil or polysporin on it but i was worried she'd lick it off and start chewing it. So I just let it be. One day, I was going up to my room to go to bed, and i was like, "wait mom, Holly hasn't been moving for awhile." I found her buried in bedding. Her tumor had exploded blood. R.I.P. Holly, the christmas hamster. <3 :/
