  • Trés belle ville pleine de charme,de beauté, à découvrir!

  • Kathmandu and Nepal were fantastic to visit. It really put life into perspective.

  • kathmandu is my dream destination ,i wish to go there some day..........

  • @TheSchauhan

do not go there, its a city like all citie,s in asia.

if you want something new and clean with friendly people go to pokhara.

its realy a fantastic small town with lots of clean nature and fabulous mountains all in walking distance.

  • @ThePeeterd I have been there 5x and I agree Ktm esp Thamel, New Road etc. is an urban jungle but I love the smaller towns in the valley like Pharping, Sankhu, Bungamati, Panauti, Nagarkot, Sundarijal etc. not to mention Patan and Bhaktapur - most are day trips which you can take from Ktm - there is so much to explore there beyond the central city. Of course Pokhara is beautiful too - my husband and I spent our engagement there - but Ktm valley as a whole is one of the best cultural treasures.

  • good music,thanks

  • I love the music

  • can anyone tell me what song this is?

  • @kojames88 This is the Heart Sutra. Type in Heart Sutra and you'll find it...I have it on my Favorites. Unfortunately I don't know the singers.

    Lord Buddha wasn't Newari

He was born in a Kshatriya family, son of a Kshatriya king (Chhetri).

  • dear DjBazUltra,

563 B.C. Prince Siddhartha Gautam (Lord Buddha) born in Lumbini in Sakya(newar) family. He came to Kathmandu during the rule of the 7th Kirati ruler, King Jitedasti.

During the rule of the 14th Kirat King Sthunko, the Indian Emperor Ashok came to the Kathmandu Valley with his daughter, princess Charumati. During his stay in the valley, he had four stupas built in four directions and one in the centre of Patan.

    hope this help.

  • :S Buddha was born in a Kshatriya family

to the kshatriya king not in Newar family

  • It's already been proven from scholars that he was born into Sakya(newar) tribe. And in later life Buddha known also as Sakyamuni (Sage of Sakya). Google it for a start!

Don't deny the Noble Truth my friend cause Truth can be hidden but never be erase.

Stop living in a fantasy of Nepal and Indian history written by Hindu-Brahmins that he was born into Kshatriya family.

  • OK Firstly the most straight forward thing.

When Buddha was born to a Kshatriya king and on the ocassion Brahmin priest was brought, it was then King was told/warned what Buddha will be when he gets older.

This was a reason Buddha was isolated (for his best in his father's view) from outside world by his father.

And the thing is Brahmin didnt never go to anyone's house or palace who weren't Chettris or Brahmin.

This was thousand and thousand years ago when Brahmins were even strict.

  • This was a simple and most straight forward reason reason.

If you google "Kshatriya Buddha" then you can see alot of results with reference.

  • @diliprai common dilip dunt make your own history now...there is no doubt that siddarth gautam was born in chhetri clan...pls dunt take it in a sense tht nepal ma bhako ahile ka SHAKYA surname are newars bhandai ma siddartha was a newar...lol

  • @neckpain93 how Buddha be born in Kshatriya (Chhetri) clan? Remember in "chatur-varna" (4-class social system), of Hindus, Brahmin put themselves as top , followed by Chhetri, then comes the vaishyas and shudras. Finally there is a group which is called dalit(untouchable) which is not even on the system.

But Buddhism never preach "chatur-varna" and his teaching was different from Hindus.

So Buddha was not from vedic people like Brahmin/Chhetri.

Now STOP your discrimination against Dalit.

  • now r yu trying to say that siddarth gautam belongs to some mongolic clan huh??? he did belong to vedic era mate...n he was born in chhetri clan...i hope now ur not gonna say that buddha is from china, tibet or mongolia, r yu???

  • neckpain93, an Indian intellectual luminary Dr. S. K. Chatterjee in his competent work, "Kirat Janakriti" mentions that Buddha, who is considered as one of the greatest leaders and teachers of mankind, was thought to be of pure or of mixed Kirat origin.

The word "Mongol" is a synonym to "Kirats".

Now Kiratas are from the vedic era mate.

Kiratas first appear in the Yajur Veda (Shukla XXX.16; Krisha III.4,12,1), and in the Atharva Veda (X.4,14), 1400 B.C- 1000 B.C.

  • @diliprai common mate...sidarth was born in terai region of nepal...n i bet there was no kirati influence at that time in tht region...r yu seruious by saying tht siddarth was kirat???? LOL...does siddarth gautam sound like a mogolic or chinese name to yu???? now r yu also gonna say that AUM is actually dervied from any kirati dailect huh???

  • @neckpain93,

The term "Nepal" is first found in 'Atharva Parishista' (4th Century BC).

The term "Kirat Desh"or Kirat Country is found in the earlier documents.

Suniti Kumar Chatterji, the Chairman of the Asiatic Society and a professor at the Calcutta University in India, has verified

this historical fact that the term Nepal is derived from the Tibetan language Nebal meaning "a house of wool"

But Brahmin said Nepal was derived from sage Nemuni.

It's time the world should know the fact.

  • @diliprai well yes tht could be tru i agree wid tht buhh we are talkin abt the fact of siddarth gautam mate...y r diverting the topic to sumfin else ???

  • Kathmandu valley was founded by King Yalambar from Kirat dynasty. He was a first King of Nepal. King Yalambar started the human civilization vis a vis Nepalese civilzation in the valley over 5000+ years ago. Nepal turned 5070 as of Friday 15th Jan 2010 following Yele Sambat(Kirati calendar).

watch this video --> "Yalambar Day" to commentate King Yalambar founding of Kathamdu valley.
