  • I'm in Central Florida and I'm just getting started, what things would you store in your garage or attic? Don't include TP or water. I know of some things that will be fine in Mylar and no.2 buckets but what would be on your list?

  • @MRNSTY Don't think I would store anything in my garage or attic. Too hot. But beans, rice, oats, wheat and things like that store best long term in the mylar bags ;) c

  • My advice is to stock up on the items you use every day. Especially if you have kids getting them to eat things they have never had or do not like is realy hard. You need to be able to rotate your food. At some point you need to purchase foods that you put on the shelf and use the items that you purchased a year or two ago. Do not forget spices/saucces and seeds to grow herbs. Before buying a large quaintaty of an item (other than a staple like flour/rice) try it.

  • @RayJames552 My kids are grown and gone. Thankful not to have small children in these perilous times. However... I'm sure the kids will want to come home if the SHTF. Thanks for commenting and watching ;) c

  • Going to get my first order from the LDS cannery next week. Great prices and they are very nice people. If they had meat and guns I would be set!

  • @bandiahbal They probably do...but their keeping that stuff ;) c

  • Yep, I'm weird too! And, yes, I don't care!

  • Nice switchblade

  • @unitedstatesdale Thanks for watching ;) c

  • I'm glad you mentioned that prepping is just not for the end of the world as we know it. I was just south of New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina in 2005. I was working on the fire dept just so you know i'm not crazy for not evac. All our supplies went under 18 ft. of water in just a few minutes. My first meal was a bag of chips floating in the water. We had nothing till the water recided low enough for us to get supplies off the top racks of local stores. The lesson. Prepping is key!

  • @mawacal Thanks for chiming in. Glad you made it out of there ;) c

  • Cindy, Mike., I didn't know it but I have been a prepper most of my life. I have always done some sort of canning during the summer and I have just recently started making my own bacon at home and I have started making homemade yogurt. Great stuff for a Sunday breakfast. One of these days I will make a video about how I make both.

    Keep on keeping on!

  • @handyman28635 Those skills would make great videos...looking forward to seeing them ;) c

  • so has anyone tested the food cans from the Mormans regarding BPA's?

  • @slwslw09 If I have to open those cans of food the last thing I'll be worried about is BPA's ;) c

  • I JUST ORDERED TEN CASES OF SQUIRREL MEAT

  • Cindy, Mike, being prepared is where it's at, but all the items you show in this video need water before you can use them, possibly excluding the apple chips. You need to store an adequate supply of water, 1 gal per day for drinking per person, then enough to use all the supplies you have in storage without using the drinking water. Something to think about.

  • @berhorst59 Thanks... we're still in and probably always be in the learning process. Your tips will prove useful ;) c

  • All these cool knifes. I carry my Swiss Army Knife LOL.

  • I got my food from efooddirect. com

  • Look up Michael Maloney. Look for one of his clips that is 1:29:27 He is the best on what is coming.Goldsilver. com

  • "The time to repair the roof is when the sun is shining."

    — John F. Kennedy

  • That is a great start, where did you buy your food?

  • you want a soldier s mind set that everything is covered so you can focus on youre goals and have youre food rations and water covered i think efoodsdirect. com is the best best for storable food

  • I enjoy your vids. Lol. I like about the part when you said 'preppers are weird' I get that same comment especially from my husband at one time. Now I make him watch the prepper vids & he's now a believer. Thanks to you, Usfreedom, cityprepper, & the other channels, he's really gearing up...now to convince my friends & in-laws that's another problem. Please keep up the good work.

  • @yokatswan Thank you. We are just getting started and learn a lot from other prepper channels. There is a lot to do yet... a little here, a little there. Thanks for watching ;) c

  • @SoulSurvivorX2 what is the shelf life of these products? thanks from the UK.

  • @SoulSurvivorX2 its good to see women preppers.People may say im wrong but women do think diferently then men and that is need they can help with very sticky situations so i promote women preppers

  • Sweetheart, very few are really really experienced at the whole prepping thing, most everyone is making it up as they go along. So don't sell yourself short. The important thing is that you are STARTING, not how much youve gotten done. Make slow and steady progress, set goals and evaluate the best way for YOUR FAMILY to reach them. Welcome to the prepping family!

  • @AnnBearForFreedom Thanks...at least if SHTF we won't start starving for at least 3 weeks... ;) c

  • Luck favors the prepared.

    Louis Pasteur

    :)

  • I have done this for years & keep it rotated but realistically I know in a worse case situation, even a few months of food will not do much towards long term survival.

  • @999Atwood I guess our goal is to be the last people to starve to death... Thank you for watching ;) c

  • Im going to have to check my area for a place like you went to....Thanks for posting..

  • @SoulSurvivorX2:I like your video, thanx for sharing..P.S. America is headed for an ECONOMIC TSUNAMI.you're doing the RIGHT thing by prepping

  • Good tip about the Mormons, ( whod a thunk it). We get a lot of stuff from Honeyville foods online, shipping is cheap and we haven't had anything from them we didnt like. Another thing about Honeyville, we take many of their products and make meals for backpacking. Their freeze dried sausage, hamburger and chicken/turkey all makes great additions to a knoors noodle or rice dish for fantastic trail dinners! ( and a compliment to all those carbs you have in the vid.

  • @Myteathor Thank for pointing them out. Will have to check out their site ;) c

  • @Myteathor So you would recomend the dryied meats from Honeyville. I have bought the dried eggs. I think shipping is under $5 no mater what you buy.

  • Bonjour, you should be on TV.

Just getting started in prepping, things aint any better here in Europe.

    With thanks from France.

  • @fusil56300 Thank you! Things are bad and getting worse all over it seems. ;) c

  • Good start! It builds up quick little by little.

  • @03DexterHauler Thank you for watching ;) c

  • I have watched all your videos tonight, you and your husband are great... I really enjoyed the hiking tips and food ideas, We live in the Oregon Mts and we are also Preppers too.. Not saying anything will happen we just want to be ready in case, tonight I just wanted to leave you all a note saying great job on your vids. makes me wanna go out hiking,...lol.

  • Good stuff yet again. And I have to agree with ya on this one... you guys are definitely weird! ;-0

Kiddin' of course. Heck, when I was was growing up we lived out in the middle of nowhere... it wasn't called "prepping" to be self-reliant and have supplies for the long term... it was just part of life ;-)

  • @intenseangler I don't mind being weird. Merry Christmas ;) c

  • @intenseangler I don't mind being weird. Merry Christmas ;) c

  • Hey you two... you changed to the new YT look and I'm not seeing your vids on the subscription page. You are not alone though... a lot of channels are having this problem.

Maybe we can call in Buck to straighten this whole mess out, lol...

  • @HollowPointSurvival Yea Bucl will straighten them out ;) c

  • Hell yeah...glad to see there are other couples, etc that are not sheeples! You guys are awesome...keep up the good work and hell yeah...be prepared. We have 3+ wells, one 200 ft and less then a couple years old. We also hoard food and MRE's, oh yeah! Wish you the best!

Get er done! YeeHaw! Thumbs up and a click or two...hehe

  • Preppers are smart.....if you loose your job you can eat for a long time on that stuff....great video Cindy....peace.

  • Preppers are weird? :)

  • extra water is SOOO WEIRD haha

  • should have bought the grinder before the wheat. watch out for the new law the government is trying to pass if you have 7 days of food they could call you a terrorist suspect and take you to gitmo indefinitely.

  • Welcome to the world of prepping. I'm new too, but it is VERY addictive. I did not know they had "starter kits" LOL. I tried water-bath canning all of my vegetables from the garden this year and it was fun to do. Good to know there is stuff in the pantry ALWAYS in case power goes out or if we have some sort of emergency situation. Glad to see you're having fun with it :) Looking forward to more videos

  • @chicagocindybuddie I hear ya'... thank you for watching ;) c

  • Get it girl BB

  • I have a good amount of my preps from the home storage at the LDS cannery as well... good info C

    take care

  • @SoCalPreppers Thank you for watching ;) c

  • everything's so much cheaper in the states! damn. Great video! keep em coming.

  • @CanadianPatriot86 I went to Canada 2 years ago....thought the same thing. Ate at a restaurant, cheeseburger, fries and a beer $26 yikes

  • A wealth of great information - thanks!

  • @wawhiker :) c

  • Preppers rule!! Great video I wish more people were prepared then there would be less chaos! Great video!

  • @Mr45Bullitt Agreed ;) c

  • I started prepping to ... mostly dark beer!

  • @ebomey He He ;) c

  • Good video.....Thanks for sharing Cindy.

  • @bigdaddyhoffman1911 Thanks for watching ;) c

  • so i guess lds is being forced by the fbi to give up who is stocking up on their food supplies.

  • well if your wierd your at least cute. im a prepper your a prepper if we were all a prepper we could prep together. im stocked for almost a year when combined with fishing, hunting, gathering, and gardening which is very abundant here. however many here plan to just hunt and fish so wild food could go quick. with just stored food and supplies i think we have about 8 months. i will be trading medical care and other skills for what ever ppl have we want. but i will not trade food.

  • @FixedByDoc Good stuff..thank you for watching ;) c

  • @SoulSurvivorX2 did you see my pumpkin shooting vid? i dedicated it to you two.

  • LDS is a good place to pick up some food. That's a good start, keep up the good work. LMarshall32 is right about their manual, it's pretty good. You can get it as a PDF download from their site. Take Care :-))

  • great video thanks 4 sharing

  • No way! you guys are in Florida! I fly over to Florida in January 2012! great video as well Cindy, all the best in your efforts, I will be enjoying watching your vids as you guys enjoy making them for us, and supporting you all the way. MTFBWY...Jedi

  • Check my page... feds asking for list of names of people who have bought from the cannery

  • @wideawake73

I'm betting that it has to do more with taxes. Its suppose to be for church members only per the tax man. With all the Youtube vids blabbing about it and the good deal they get, its starting to get attention. I bet it wont be long now til non-members can't get in again. Some things are better left unsaid.LOL

Don't take it personal. There have been vids out on this for a while. Probably too many.

  • @JP1AO There shouldnt be tax on food ... unless its snack ...but you could be right

  • Start with water, that's my suggestion. The food you got is great but but without water it does ater it does you no good. Your way ahead of most with just the amount of hiking gear you've got now. Welcome to the community of nut jobs lol.

  • great video. I want to do something like this but had no idea where to start, now I do.

  • Fantastic video on a great subject. I will make one suggestion about the LDS. They make a Preparedness manual that is a good source of knowledge. I am impressed with the effort you both are putting in. Great job!

as a matter of fact i need another one because my little Princess found it. 2yr old Vs. manual, enough said =)

  • nice vid, ofcouse now you have to make videos about how to cook this stuff. being a guy I won`nt know where to start! makeing bread? beans?

  • do they have these in the uk?

  • you make very nice videos

  • Very cool. I've been thinking of going this route. Did you go through an actual church? Or did you go to the LDS cannery in your area?

  • Did you guys order from online? if so.. do you mind me asking the website? We have been trying to find some new places to order from.. and the deals and prices you are telling seem great compared to what ive seen.

Glad to see you are prepping!!

    a VERY smart plan.

take care and thank you for your videos!!

  • Cool video nice starter kit. It's never to late to start prepping better late than sorrry. Nice to have become friends and subs here on You Tube with you both I use to live in Orlando and I might be moving back this summer.

  • Yay! More doomsdayers join our ranks!!!!

  • Looks like a nice haul you made there.

    Glock n Load,

    Mike

  • Thanks for the video, information and LEAD! Great deal and thanks for sharing it!

  • Good video guys always been a prepper myself it is never ending food is just the start lol

  • Good job with getting started! The LDS Home Storage is a great resource for preppers. I've got a LOT of food from there and I've got 24 cans of wheat coming this Satruday. I have a couple videos on grinding the wheat and making bread from the food storage products.

  • Nice

Costco and Sams club good to buy stuff there.

  • good info, I need to check out my local Mormon church, thanks!

check out "popprepper"s channel, he shows how to turn 2, #10 cans and a soup can into a stove...kinda neat

congrats on prepping, you will be surprised how much money you will save...J

  • Excellent video and ideas for starting to prep. I need to start doing that

  • Congrates on coming out of the Prepper Closest =)

  • Wow that is a good deal. I should check out the Mormons by me.

  • Excellent video. If you are considered weird then I think I like weird.

  • great vid. tell mike I'm updating the ceramic armor price sheet. he's on the list to receive it 1-1-12. ; )

  • Cindy's Hot buns will be the greatest business success of the SHTF era

  • Good deal guys. Great to see ya making some headway in your preps.

  • I would love to stock up on that stuff for non-emergency use. But it helps to be prepared. Thumbs up.

  • awesome vid....prepping is just smart...when the tornados hit this past April we were off the grid for over 8 days...my emergency plan went into action...gotta be prepared.

  • Thanks for the video cindy. We want to get started. We always have huge earthquakes in california here in CA.

  • Okay, i am ready for Cindy grinding wheat with a hand grinder, dressed in a bikini top. Bring on the preppin vids

  • @beelikestowatch She grinds that wheat good Bee you missed that video. That was last weeks. Just pulling your leg Bee. How are things?

  • @guns4funca You are to funny, i don't miss any of Cindy and Mike's videos, in fact a few of them, i watch regularly.

  • @beelikestowatch They make good stuff. Enjoy them:)

  • My folks like most of their generation stocked up food and I kept the habit of always having some stores put back. I am glad to see you starting, it can be a lot of fun just learning and getting it together.

  • Good choice in your Preps. You can grind the weat in a blender using little water. The LDS Online Store has free shipping.

  • You can also sprout the wheat berries for wheat sprouts or to grow wheat grass.

  • Nice vid, and if you can't afford this just buy a dehydrator and dehydrate some food, find sales at the store, you can dehydrate most anything and the Nesco barand dehydrator is cheap at Wall Mart and I also bought a Seal a Meal!

  • Good idea, I should prep. Thanks for sharing.

  • WOW! Great info Cindy I did not know you could get that stuff from the Mormans. Thanks girl great video

  • Sootch vids much ? Well if were invaded FLA will be hit first ,Im counting on you and that 38 to slow em down .....SemperFi

  • Very cool and affordable too :)

  • Cool video, we all should put some stuff back and be prepared. I do not prep for the end of the world, but in the last 1-1/2 years we have lost power twice for 5+ days each and if we lived a little further North would have been 3 times. Best thing I can say is it is never too late to start and never too little to start with. If you keep at it you will find it grows quick. Another thing is review for weaknesses and plug the holes. Think outside the box sometimes. Thanks and take care guys.

  • Good going.

preparednesspro. com has lots of good idea too...:)

  • what part of florida do yu live

  • Didnt know that you could buy goods from the Mormons. Probably a much reduced price from the for profit outfits. Thanks for sharing.

  • @mediamst and mormons dont profit???? I could count on two full hands the morons that avoid taxes and profit from young men in dire situations to buy bigger houses and drive bigger cars... Mormons make just as much profit or more than any other business out there to believe otherwise is only due ones ability to "Look the other way"

  • Very cool, do you happen to know of a source for these materials that isn't associated with the mormon church?

  • Those are nice kits.

  • LOL weird oooooooooooooS

  • What you said is so so true... Just look at the east coast 6 months ago when power went out for weeks when. Look at Missouri, Arkansas floods,Iowans being invaded by the Ozarks "Just Joking" But even 2 or 3 day problems are all reasons for being even a "Small" scaled prepper. "I'm a prepper she's a prepper dont you want to be a prepper too?!!" Oh thats a soda what am I thinking.

  • Great info, and options. Thanks for the heads up!

  • I am glad you guys are getting prepared.

  • LOL! You are right on that. Preppers are weird but we are lovable. I'd rather be called names and have my preps than be without and thought wise. Nice vid.
