  • of course use a weight attached to track which is attached to tensile cord and let gravity do the rest, position track at an almost 45 degree angle

  • why doesnt anyone think of using elastic potential energy?? i mean come on attach it to a track system with one large gear and a small axle and your in business.

  • where did you get that magnets?

  • You are watching mythbusters!

  • Hey there, the shopkeeper asked me about the polarity of the magnet or some sort of specific power classification when i went to purchase em. Can u guide me about it, what should I tell him ?

  • it takes too much spins to light a bulb.. but it's pretty understandable!

  • There is no such thing as free energy. Perpetual Motion has been proven by math to not be possible. It is possible to use other sources of energy such as gravity, radiation and magnetism with machines to get cheap power, but its still not 'free'. I figure the solution lies within the power of our sun and/or the magnetism of Earth itself with magnets and other materials.

That said, It is possible for a 99.9% return on energy, and its good to see people trying things.

    Keep trying!

  • @walperstyle do we really need a lecture on energy consumption based on some guy wanting to build his own little LED gizmo??

  • @walperstyle You are correct, there is no such thing as free energy--however there is no reason to harvest wasted energy. There is plenty of energy around us being exerted in several forms so it feels free. If I use a solar panel to generate electricity from photons, I used wasted energy. Of course you could always say there is no waste of energy because photons falling on a panel are now no longer falling against the ground. Dirt does not need light if there is nothing to grow though.

  • can it produce the 1.21 gigawatts for my DeLorean

  • Remember: Magnetwire does not equal magnetic wire

Magnetwire is simply coated wire, so it doesn't do something similar to short circuiting, but not something thick like insulation or its hard to coil.

  • did you use a set called electromagnetism,

ad if you didn't what kid of wire did u use,

Because i have magnetic wire but, it dosen't conduct electricity, and it is not bade of manetenic material

  • @Carofdoom1126 how can you have a wire that doesn't conduct electricity...?

and it doesn't matter if it isn't magnetic, it's inductance that causes current to flow, not actual magnetism as such

  • @LithiumChicken , just curious what kind of wire did you use.

  • @Carofdoom1126 if i'm honest, i haven't done this as yet, the wire can be any metal you like, just so long as it's a wire and there's quite a lot of it. i'm going to use 32 AWG OFC magnet wire, which can is thin enough to make winding really easy and can handle the tiny current this thing produves.

if you want to know why the wire doesn't have to be magnetic, look up 'magnetic inductance in a wire', or something similar.

  • can i solder two pieces of wire together to make it longer? does it affects the generator?

  • fake site bitch scammer

  • Awesome video. Keep on with that good work!

  • @ greenlivingitup . com it shows how to build a free energy device with magnets

  • you were watching mythbusters

  • thats cool and mythbusters is on lol

  • Looks liek a pain in the ass... but nice work anyway.

  • you spelled like wrong,lol

  • nice how u made it?but why it finish so fast will it turn continue.wesly?

  • I've got a 100% Magnetic Generator I built running all my kitchen appliances!

    magniwork-review.blogspot(DOT)com

  • you can tell its mythbusters because at the end it says "grant has been working on a reason"

  • actually it said "Grant has been workin on a really good" then it cut off

  • how do you make that?

  • that was cool. id love to make one

  • I hear mythbusters in the background

  • yeah lol.

  • why dont u use a smaller shaft and hook it up to a drill just to prove ur point instead of winding string around it whenever u wanna use it.

  • right

  • this is too easy to be interesting.

  • yeah ... thats all it is, hes pulling on a piece of sting to spin it.

its hooked up to an LED, you only need live .5DCV to run an LED.

    nothing special here.

  • 3 volts

  • does every body remember how like magnetisms repel? my estimation here is that he put magnets of the same pole, facing each other on an angle, resulting in a linear forward motion, and since the magnet is on a shaft, the linear motion is converted into a circular motion, and runs a motor, when a motor gets spun my another source, it produces power.

  • I hve sky nonick City to hook it up 2.

  • My air motor will run a 10kw generator soon.

  • :) i did this in year 7 its very fun and spins very fast

  • It's no fun if you don't tell us how it works!

  • he only winded some wires which can be seen at 00:10. he pulls the wires and voila! the generator spins fast.

  • HOw do u get the thing to spin that fast.

  • WTF?

  • you need to study ENGLISH for a while before you worry about powering a city.

  • @unclewooly LMAO!

  • @unclewooly Why do some people think that english is the only language in the world that matters? let me assure you, its not.

  • @BeyCuber I never said it was.. However it is the most used language by far.

  • @unclewooly I know. i was just commenting on how you had said that he should learn english. its just a pet-peeve :D

  • omg YOU ARE PHYSICS OMG hes motha fudgin physics

  • when you dont like physics why you watch it?

  • Dynamo - no more !!

  • if you see he pulls on a piece of string/wire on the shaft to spin the generator

  • Roger!

  • turk159 IMPOSSIBLE IS NOTHING!!! ,IDIOT

  • impossible, according to sirkel28, you are proposing a perpetual motion device, which is physically impossible. i think i saw a drive shaft coming out of that...

  • Ok thats cool , it powers the LED but what powers the generator?

  • I think its two magnets working against the spinning thing in the middle one pushes while the other pulls causing it to spin. Well my guess at least.

  • do you know how a electric motor works?

  • WOW!
