Yes, taxpayer dollars are used to fund abortions. You are correct about the good that Planned Parenthood does for communities, but abortions should be a separate issue and payed for by the person needing that procedure. If your point is that abortion only makes up 3% of what PP does, so that makes it ok, you're avoiding the real number of what that 3% consists of and that's close to 300,000 abortions performed by PP/year. That's the number that matters. That's a lot of dead babies.

The proof is the very simple fact that PP receives federal funds and they perform abortions. If anything is used on a patient that has been payed for with taxpayer money, such as lights, medical tables, medical gloves, syringes, etc., then technically, the abortions are subsidized with taxpayer dollars. Planned Parenthood rider is about appeasing their base. If the GOP really cared about funding to PPFA they would have cut them off when Bush was president. The Republican congress did nothing to stop funding for them when they were the majority. They are only doing this to keep their pro-life base happy and to keep them voting for the GOP. Tax cuts to corporations are what are important to the GOP not pro-life issues. GOP are using you pro-life ppl.

@jjrglobal Corporations do pay taxes. They are at liberty to raise their prices and pass those costs on to consumers--at the risk of losing market share. It's called supply and demand. Why would they go out of business? Are you saying they are barely getting by as it is? Maybe that tax could be paid out of the record profits and massive salaries that executives pay themselves. The tax rate makes litte difference when many corporations pay little or no tax.

Why in the world would they lose market share? Their competitors have to pay the same tax increase and would therefore raise the price of their goods and services the same amount as everyone else. What I'm saying is that if companies don't account for increases in the cost of production, whether it be raw materials, labor or taxes, they will go out of business. Also, CEO's of publicly traded companies DO NOT set their salaries. Do you know why most corp. dont pay taxes?
