  • awesome :D

  • she doesnt show the color code?

  • how did u get so good at this? did u take classes or was it alot of practice or what?

  • Did you change the opacity that much when coloring?

  • so if you set the flow for the smudge to about the same as the brush 5-10% when usung a mouse would that be close to the same strength as you are using with the tablet to get the same effect or as near as?

  • A really great & awesome tutorial

  • Jesus Christ, it's been 3 years and she still hasn't come out with part 2...

  • your drawing is excellent...but i prefer traditional methods of colouring...like watercolours, pencils and/or oils...doesnt photoshop look too "perfect" to be real?

    a great program nevertheless

  • the highlights shading is very nice.

  • Very nice tutorial and narration. I will favourite this and look forward to some more.

  • nive video, were those stock Brushes? or did you download them, i want to start doing more fine tuning in facial areas.

  • Nope, brushes that came with the programme. The best thing for fine tuning is a wacom tablet!

  • if i gave u a picture cud u do this for me cuz i wudnt be able to do this?

  • Sorry, I only take paid commissions and I'm full up presently. All it takes to do what I do is a lot of hard work and practice. Good luck!

  • Holy fuck! Awesome!

  • cool picture and a nice voice

  • your so cool!!!! mean skill. nd r u austrailian???

  • question:

you don't make a palette with the colors you use...

so how do you know which colores you've used when you do the rest of the skin?

  • I've noticed that other people do that. I just use the eyedropper tool to select the colour I want that I've already put down. Plus I've had training in painting with actual paints. You run out of a colour you mix on a regular basis, and you have to mix from scratch. You build a tonal memory pretty quickly at that rate!

  • And great. Why not using more technics in one art?

  • I'm sorry? I don't follow.

  • she is really good, but drew the outline and scanned it in then coloured, just in case there has been a mix up

  • she hand drew it then scanned it in and then painted and did a very good job on all of it

    awesome.

  • @randomstupidnesswv

    she used a tablet dummy.

  • hey fuck face she drew it because the way the lines were, and I'm a graphic designer i'd fucking know.she coloyrs it in with the tablet. also have you even ever used a tablet there difficult to draw like that on.

  • Lol.. can't agree with you. I'm using tablet & mouse. Look in response video. U are bad graphic if u cant handle that.

I thing coloring is much more harder then making shapes only (the lines)

She colored that face really grate. I give shades in different way, by drowing less or more lines with a same color. It's quite fanny effect :]

    Keep the good job!

  • dude wtf? the lines have the shake that is from using a pen and scanning it in,and I know what I'm talking about, and I agree she did a good job.

also have you tried to just draw with a tablet it's difficult.

  • I prefer using brush and ink because my wacom tablet doesn't have the proper sensitivity for the weighting of the lines. My lines are shaky because I'm sick and I get anaemic, shaky from that. I do the best I can!

  • are you doing a comic cause I;d love to see it finished.

  • Yes I am, should be released soon!

  • cool!

  • It is unbelievable how talented people are.

Thanks for a great video, I stood in amazement on how fast and how well you painted!

  • Oh, don't be too amazed, I sped it up!! By about three times. I mean, I've been told I'm a fairly fast painter, but that's usually cause I get shit down the first time and don't fiddle. That's the worst thing a person can do - go over the same thing over and over again! :D Anyway, thank you kindly!

  • Looks really good, keep it up!

  • Thanks. One day there WILL be a part two!

  • it's been 8 months...

  • I've made the part two. I just have to record the narration. Please understand that I suffer from a chronic pain condition, and had surgery three weeks ago which I'm still convalescing from. Patience, I'm an ill woman.

  • @napalmnacey dont u mean patience ur a woman XD naw joking, but that is sick, i mean that in the good way lol, take alook at my vid with my pics on please, im gonna be starting art college in september and i wanna try and start drawing in western style comic like that and im working on a pic, it doesnt look that good atm but im sure it will turn out okay lol nice vid again also

  • Whoops, sorry, I accidentally removed the last comment. I meant to hit reply. My eyesight is shithouse sometimes!

It's okay, I wasn't offended. I just took it as you being eager to see the rest of it. :)

  • thx for understanding ;)

  • S'cool. I don't mind people asking when the next bit is gonna be out! Keeps me on my toes that way. :D

  • what programme are you using?

  • wow, you did it very well, i'm impressed, i think you're amazing, and i hope that one day i'll be able to paint just as good as you do. but i use photoshop since only half a year i think, so i'll probably learn much more, i hope. oh by the way, do you use a tablet? because you paint very precisely, and i tried to but its very difficult (for me) to do it so well..

thanks a lot for your tut!

  • I do use a tablet! Heh, I don't think I'm that precise. I tend to have to erase a lot of stuff. I was reasonably well practiced at drawing this girl so I didn't make as many mistakes as I usually do! Thank you very much!

  • i like your tut....

i'm trying to do your tut but i don't know what brush preset did you use....

i can't find it in the brush preset ...

    pls. help...

  • I just updated my video info with the information you're after. It's a bit complicated to explain so it's best to just read the info. Thanks!

  • I just updated my video info with the information you're after. It's a bit complicated to explain so it's best to just read the info. Thanks!

  • what programm is that pls answer to me!!!!is amazing

  • photoshop

  • what programm is that pls answer to me!!!!is amazing

  • excellent tut and great finish!

i have a tablet but its not a wacom :( but im saving up for the wacom that puts the image on the tablet, sort of like a touch screen. the one i have was cheap, only cost me £70, is there any sort of settings within photoshop to make your tablet more officiant?

    obsolutly love painting in photoshop.

but yea fantastic outcome, she looks very sexy. cheers for the upload

  • There are options in the making a new brush palette that control things like opacity control, width control, etc. Lots of little tricks can be done. Thank you! There will be a part two soon!

  • Cool thanks, I so want a tablet. Ive never even seen them in use. Gonna try and take my ill behind out into the world to take a demo run on a wacom.

    Enjoi

  • I'm sick too - good luck on that one. Art is wonderful therapy when you're not well. You feel useful when you can make pretty stuff. :D You can get them pretty cheap on Ebay, actually. Always get a wacom. They are far and away the best tablet out there.

  • Im just getting into vector art. I noticed when i tried for vector paths on photoshop it would turn them into pixels after...grainy. So I started using Illustrator.

What blending mode do you use when painting? Those wavy brushes, where are they? Id like a few directions further then this video.

    Thanks!

  • I use a normal blending mode for the paint layers, and 'Multiply' on the ink layer (the black lines). The wavy lines are in the brush toolbox. To get the sensitivity I have, one should use as tablet. :)

  • This is great! I've always wanted to know how the comic painting worked on photoshop. My sounds is out and you might have already mentioned this, but I was wondering if this is something you did using your mouse or a tablet?

  • I did this with the tablet. I recommend that if someone is going to be doing colouring on any serious level to get a tablet, preferably a wacom tablet. :)

  • nice tutorial, but I am not good at using layers and I have no clue what channels are, lol, why do some tutorials ask you to select the channels then delete?

  • That is how some people like to select areas to colour. Everyone has different ways of doing that. Me, if there's going to be troubles with that, I do a special 'selection layer' beforehand where the areas are defined by contrasting areas of colour. It's not seen, just there to click with the wizard tool.

  • Great tutorial! Thanks!

  • Thank you for responding. :)

  • you do nice shadows, Did you do the woman? If you did I think you should do more, but from scratch :)

  • Yes, I did the woman. I'll do a different tutorial for anatomy. I'm doing a series on on that. (I just take forever to get around to doing things!)
