It is a shame that Vincent Price is no longer with us, as no one could play the part/narrate better. With such a high standard for benchmark, I thought Dennis Kleinsmith performed quite perfectly, demonstrating no less skill and flavour, than Vincent Price himself would have presented.
Not bad. I thought the actor playing the narrator did a fairly good job. I thought the house looked too bright inside, though, and like others, I didn't like the change of the ending. Morella (as the mother) does well conveying menace without speaking.
This wasn't bad, but it didn't quite ring true for me. I felt Morella lacked the eeriness of her character in the story, and the narrator seems to be channeling a Vincent Price vibe that somehow clashes with the music and overrall mood/setting.
I also didn't like how you depicted her aging. The whole point of the climax of the horror is the fact that he takes the child to be baptized and she dies the moment he says his dead wife's name. I'm a purist when it comes to my Edgar Allan Poe.
lotta hard work in this, well done...did you ever consider using any filters to reinforce the mood? to me that is the only real thing missing...it looks so contemporary visually (except costumes, locations) they couldve been cohesively made more convincing with a filter...sepia, desaturation, bleach bypass...just a thought! I love Poe, I have am 8 tape collection of his works read aloud...
The feature length film "The Haunting Of Morella" was freakin awesome. I didnt like who played Gideon Lock in this....wayyyyy too old. And this version lacks the haunting eery feeling the original story gives. this version definitly didnt end the way I would like to have seen it. I'm really disapointed. oh well ::::goes to watch The Haunting of Morella:::: =)
me likey! i think you have done an excellent job!

what bothered me is the change of the ending, the rest is good.

Very well made. I thought it captured the feeling of the story perfectly.

yea... I haven't even read the story, but knowing Poe, there had to be psychological terror in that story somewhere. You had to have skipped it.

That wasn't even good!!! You skipped the entire ending, the part that makes every reader go *gasp!* in every Poe story!!!
What's your problem?!?!?
