If this is a deleted scene... Can I guess why? Well, a YT user called 'robag88' put forth the theory that the Monolith is actually the movie / cinema screen, connecting to the viewers. This scene may have been cut because it could hint too much, to that theory? Hmmm.
Stanley Kubrick left no "deleted scenes" to be watched. He even destroyed every set, dress and model from "2001", so no one could use them again. When Peter Hyams made "2010", he had to make models and Daves spacesuit using blown up frames from "2001" to get them right.
@citizenstand not necessarily. personally I just came here because I saw a link on a completely different video. I, and probably Jadama0, no more came looking for this than I might look for a fault in a sidewalk after tripping or my cell phone when I hear one go off.
Respond to this video... Well, I wasn't looking for one, because I know they don't exist- yet I am watching this video, because saw it on the side, and I wanted to see what your interpretation of a deleted scene from Kubrick would be like.
@citizenstand Not necessarily. It's in the related section of a few 2001: A Space Odyssey videos. Also, humans are naturally curious animals. Even if he knew the video was total bull shit, it's fun to look and say, "This is total bullshit."
@Jadama0 You'll love this: Kubrick trimmed at least a quarter of an hour from the film after it's premiere (besides the deleted introduction by assorted scientific smart people). Douglas Trumbull, in 2010, stated that 17 minutes of "lost footage" has been found. There are no plans for the footage though. The punchline? I'm not making this up! Google "WB Uncovers Lost Footage From Kubrick's '2001: A Space Odyssey'.
I'm out on a limb here but could this possibly have anything to do with the idea of increasing isolationism and inferiority which 2001 conveys? The white seats paying homage to the sterile white synthetics of human ingenuity which cripples our evolution (just as in 2001). I respond greatly to the simplicity of it. The way the light abruptly turns on reminds me of an early scene in 8 1/2. Or does it represent instant enlightenment once someone finally understands the beauty that is 2001. Amazing!
Ahh-ha! I get it! Ahh I see! -He 'STANDS' . Yes. Thank god you brought Kubrick along for this cinematic odyssey. Great minds do think alike. The world is your oyster and furthermore- raspberry. Try 'STANDing' in traffic.
Whoa!!! very cool!!! the dark green and black and then click black and white and click darkness, then brightness, and then the green, again, and even rows of whiteness. beautiful!!!
awesome! the last time someone random (you're not all that random but anyways it's a good story) bought me a beer was because i had a mullet and it reminded him of his dad.
strange...
