"Betrayal at Pearl Harbor, How Churchill lured Roosevelt into WWII", by James Rusbridger (of the Britsh SIS) & Eric Nave (of the Australian SIO) is another "page-turner" I can't put down. Very detailed, and you are the "fly_on_the_wall" watching and listening to it all. Just amazing, and will completely change your opinions of both FDR and Churchill.
Read: "Pearl Harbor: The Seeds and Fruits of Infamy", by Percy Greaves Jr, published by The Ludwig von Mises Institute in Auburn, Alabama, 2010, 937 pages. The book is a detailed indictment of the Roosevelt Administration, one that finally and devastatingly rips the lid off a case that has been shrouded in mystery for generations. Robert Stinnett, the author of “Day of Deceit”, calls Greaves's book "explosive!"
Yeah Japan, thanks for bombing Pearl harbor. Hahaha just joking. The ship, "USS Arizona," that got sunk is now a landmark above the sunken vessel. Pretty neat.
So please stop with all the bashing from the countries other than US. Obviously you don't take any real time to research, and you only play off your heart, and what you are told to be learned. Break off and discover the truth.
As of Pearl Harbor, it is absolutely unconfirmed whether or not FDR knew about the attacks on Pearl. If he did, then it is a shame, even though it got us into the war and the allies won. You guys exaggerate the numbers on the attack, ~3500 civilian and military Americans were killed.
The reason why the USA stopped the economic relations with Japan prior to Pear Harbor was because Japan had already taken over a good portion of East Asia. The USA stopped trading because we didn't want to induce war in Asia, and fund a militaristic war.
@mumble888 The US invasion of Canada was repulsed, and the US capital was raised to the ground while it's people fled. That's just a matter of historical fact.
@Eggturbo what are you talking about??? The War of 1812? The Americans won it. Sure the capital burned, but we won. That's why America is still standing here today.
@mumble888 The war of 1812 was started as an attempt to gain land from Britain by the US, we didn't take any of that land, it wasn't a win, it wasn't a loss, it was a draw with Britain and Canada coming out better than the US did.
What the American people were NOT told is that the Japanese were ashamed when they realized they had initiated a surprise attack. It violated the code of Bushido. The note from the ambassadors was supposed to arrive 30 minutes before the attack.
Churchill, on hearing of the attack, said in his bio. "I slept that night as do the saved. My mother was American, and I knew that America was a gigantic boiler. Once the fire was lit, there was no end to her power."
You missed the penultimate hook of the speech. " With confidence in our Armed Forces, with the undying efforts of our peoples, we shall gain the ultimate triumph, so help us God". A bugle call. Compare to GHWB 9/11 "my fellow americans". A damp towel, after a cold shower. Their is no Bush "brass" nickle, to go with the Lincoln penny and the Rooseveldt dime. Perhaps there should be. It was the "World" Trade Centre that got hit, not the American. Where is India, UAR and Korea? Japan? Taiwan? China
ya know, I would love for the Japanese Department of Education to listen to this recordin', cause they keep denyin' they attacked Pearl Harbor. Despicable scum, they deny all their involvements in the war, especially all their war crimes. I say this only to those that deny these, NOT all Japanese are to be held responsible, but those that deny this are nothin' more than stuck-up, dishonorable pieces of worthless shit.
And that is why I respect Germans. West Germans. They stepped out and apologized. They were taught to be ashamed and hold responsibilities of their Nazi past.
But no, Japan has to gloss over shit and be a bastard about it. Damn the LDP to hell. Right wing bastards.
Dude, the Japanese don't even go over WW2 in their history, they just skip it and whenever a student brings it up they just say: "No no no, we didn't attack Pearl Harbor" pfft, ridiculoust.
@NemisisDelta Actually, the Japanese take on ww2 is much like it is in Germany. No one LIKES talking about it, but it IS taught. It is viewed as a shameful time, not something to be proud of, but also as a mistake to be learned from. Why Americans like you can't get that the war is over and move on (like the rest of the world has been doing) is beyond me, and is one of MANY reasons they don't like talking about it. In the US, we don't talk much about the war of 1812, do we? Because we lost.
@HerrCollier First off, if they're startin' to teach their people 'bout WW2, that's great, cause when I was over there, everyone went "Oh no, we didn't start
WW2, we didn't attack Pearl Harbor" and that's IF you're lucky, most of 'em just denied it. Secondly, I've learned alot 'bout 1812 back in my history class in high school, I learned enough to know that they kept kidnappin' our citizens for their own cause. And as for "Why Americans like me can't get that the war is over and move on...
@HerrCollier The hell ya talkin bout, I wasnt even in the war, Ive LEARNED of it, HEARD of it, experienced how people treat it as history, but I never was stuck on it as you said. Pfft, you should re-think your comment on this, cause next time I wont be so nice when I respond to your ignorance, if I even bother readin your next comment. Heres an advice that Im gonna give ya that Ron White gave to his hillbilly cousin once The next time you have a thought "just let it gojust let it go"
WTF are you talking about? Which one is more important WWII or some war of 1821? I am not from American but I haven't totally gone on from war. Im Finland we talk about the war between Finland and Soviets A LOT, although we 'kind of'' lost. What's this music btw?
@HerrCollier if we lost the war of 1812, why isn't Brittan in control of any portion of North America? They might have won some battles, but the war they certainly did not win lol.
@david80905 The US invasion of Canada was repulsed, and the US capital was raised to the ground while it's people fled. That's just a matter of historical fact. Britain regarded the 1812 War as a sideshow to the much larger Napoleonic War in Europe. The reason Britain no longer controls Canada is because neither nation wishes it. Natural justice and common sense have prevailed on all sides. As for the Treaty of Ghent which ended the war; 198 years of peace can't be wrong :D

Talk about airbrushing over history. If the US went to war tomorrow there would be videos like this appearing all over YouTube set to Britney Spears or Justin Timberlake, "You Wanna Piece Of Me".
@ultramagellan Amen, keep it raw. American Lives we lost that day some 70 years ago...... Back then, 3000 men lost there loves..INOCCENT LIVES. Admirl Yomomoto Stated "I Fear we have awoken a sleeping giant." Today however, it would be "I Fear we have awoken a sleeping goliath" And that Goliath is, the United States of American...and the rest of the world. That day was like 9/11. Everyone who was alive then knows EXACTLLY Where he and or she was. A Date that will live in infomy!!!!!!! HOORAH!

One point about FDR he took away our gold and helped the Federal Reserve Bankers tighten their strangle hold on the common man. He was an insider of the insiders, He helped the military industrial complex to take control of our nations manufacturing capabilities and forced us in to a war with Japan though embargo and a war with Germany to aid his European Banking interests. He also gave us the worlds largest welfare state. Sir, you are a communist if you believe this man was decent.
If it wasn't for FDR Fasism would have taken over the world. All Jews would be dead. All gypsys would be dead. MOre and More sadistic experiments on twins, the disabled, pregnat woman, homosexuals and anyone else the Nazi's thought odd. FDR helped save the world numerous times... During the Depression and during WW2. Show some respect to a great man and the greatest and most influencial president of the USA.
He wasn't a commie, but his economic policies were a bit flawed. I think he's a great President for the War and renewal of optimism in America. And, World War II did take us out of the Depression...
It was fairly good overall, but the music gets too loud in many places, and that combined with the sounds from the video clips really ruins the speech in key spots.
You are right, this speech helped stir America to go to world war II. But sadly if it isn't anything that deals with celebrities, than it isn't popular at all.
yes about the speech IS very stirring. But with out a sense of patriotism what is a country? without pride in your own nation and even the tolerance of some arrogance WITH knowledge of other cultures what is a country? Not to mention that Germany declaired war on the U.S. before Congress signed one of their own.
Last night, the Japanese attacked the 13 people who disliked this video.

@ Everyone saying American started WWII and that we are at fault.
First of all I put no blame on anyone living today. So when I name a country, I am speaking about the old version of said nation.
Was it not Germany that invaded Poland Sept 1, 1939? Was it not the British who took bombing after bombing in the London blitz?
