The Cuban revolution was not a workers revolution. There was no talk about socialism until 1961. Fidel Castro was not a ''communist'' during those time, Che Guevara and Raul Castro were communists, but not Fidel.

It was a nationalist revolution, that is why the Cuban flag and anthem were not changed. Cuba is still called the Republic of Cuba and not People's Republic of Cuba.

Cuban ''socialism'' is a lie, it is based on post 1956 soviet stalinism, not on marxism leninism.

@UDSS First off, you correct in that it was not a socialist revolution first off, it became that later. However, Fidel had been a communist and a Marxist-Leninist for several years before the revolution. Secondly, there is very substantial worker control of the economy in Cuba (though I would never say it is absolute nor is the system perfect) and a huge degree of community control of community affairs.

ps. The name or flag of the country doesn't have to be changed, it doesn't matter they are.
