They didn't do much in the mall renovation, just a new coat of paint and wood handrails. Now it's even more of a throwback to the 1970's.

Why? The glass one goes a decent speed. Check the video I uploaded of it. Also, I like the motor on this. I don't like the beep/chirp instead of the buzz. You need the full classic impulse!
