Many good wrestlers left SD (which resulted in a serious drop in quality) but then weren't used that well on RAW because there it was all about HHH and Evolution. PPV cards became increasingly uninteresting for me as well and the results and reviews often confirmed my suspicions about them. Continued....

@vancedev SE = Sports Entertainment. Yeah the treatment of Jericho was also something I always disliked in WWE. He's a multitime champion now but his reigns were all pretty badly booked and forgettable. At the very least his last gimmick was destined to be one of THE great Heel-Champions like Edge or Orton (who are both good but never reached Jericho's level). But for some reason WWE always just uses him like a last resort villain when they have nobody else (much like they do with Punk now).

@Wurzelknecht We already have enough to deal with from the mainstream-only wrestling fans who are disliking every ROH upload they can find, (by the way, I am CERTAIN that many of them are TNA fans) Bad enough that we have MMA fans coming to ROH videos too. Although there are some MMA fans who like wrestling as well, but they are rare to find.
Also, a large number of WWE (and TNA...) fans declare themselves to be Hulkamaniacs for life.

@jimbomichaeltucker I actually don't think that ROH wants to compete with WWE (other than TNA who are just ridiculous in their attempts to do Sports Entertainment) but rather want to be an alternative for people who aren't satisfied with the WWE or TNA in-ring product anymore. I myself was a WWE fan since 1992 but it just doesn't satisfy me anymore. And now they're distancing themselves from the term "wrestling" altogether. So I watch ROH and Puro while fans of SE go on watching WWE

@vancedev It was more like a slow decay. I think it started shortly after WM XX that I felt that something was missing when I watched WWE. I think the rosters became to unbalanced. Many good wrestlers left SD (which resulted in a serious drop in quality) but then weren't used that well on RAW because there it was all about HHH and Evolution. PPV cards became increasingly uninteresting for me as well and the results and reviews often confirmed my suspicions about them. Continued....

Then came WM21 which on one side was a fantastic show with great matches but on the other side had the double title win of Batista and John Cena, two Wrestlers who I absolutely couldn't get into because neither was a particularly good wrestler (at least not at that time) nor could they camouflage their weaknesses as well as people like The Rock or Mick Foley who could have fantastic matches despite not being outstanding catch-as-catch-can wrestlers. continued...

@vancedev ...continuation. And after the loss of Eddie and the departure of Chris Jericho and Kurt Angle I watched it less and less in 2006. That's when I discovered wrestlers like Samoa Joe or AJ Styles on the internet. I got my hands on a few ROH and other Indie matches of Joe and got introduced to other guys like Punk or Danielson and my interest grew. Shortly after that I started buying their DVDs and was hooked because they had good wrestling and had enough SE-elements to not get boring.

@Wurzelknecht Thanks for the explanation,for me it was when Jericho lost to Triple H at Wrestlemania 18.They had a chance to develop Jericho into a mega star and give him a long title reign.He could have easily held onto the title for at least another year and have 5 star matches one ppv after another with Benoit,Eddie,RVD,Angle,Misterio etc. I stopped watching RAW completely after that guy who was married to Britney Spears pinned Cena.What are "SE-elements?"

@vancedev SE = Sports Entertainment. Yeah the treatment of Jericho was also something I always disliked in WWE. He's a multitime champion now but his reigns were all pretty badly booked and forgettable. At the very least his last gimmick was destined to be one of THE great Heel-Champions like Edge or Orton (who are both good but never reached Jericho's level). But for some reason WWE always just uses him like a last resort villain when they have nobody else (much like they do with Punk now).

One piece of evidence that Ring Of Honor is the best, not the biggest or the greatest, but the goddamn best, wrestling promotion in the United States:
Japanese wrestlers, when goin' to the USA, always pick ROH as their choice to wrestle in. The GHC Heavyweight and Jr Heavyweight championships were defended in ROH(never in TNA and certainly not WWE).
Misawa. Kobashi. Marufuji. Nakajima. Shiozaki. KENTA.
The respect of Japan is one testimony to ROH's quality in professional wrestling.

Ring Of Honor is based on two things: Giving the fans what they want, and treating pro wrestling like it is treated in Japan.
ROH is the ONLY company in the United States where fans get to throw streamers as a sign of respect to wrestlers(Like in NOAH).
ROH has the best wrestlers, the best matches, and, ironically, even the best gimmicks and promos. Imagine that, ROH does great sports entertainment.
Ring Of Honor is THE best wrestling company in the USA. Not the biggest, but the goddamn best.
