  • wasnt random piro movements on cyclic was lack of power u can see when u punch out u can see tail kicks out every time u hit the collective, when u hit the collective to save it tail kicked out cos head speed dropped even with 500$ worth of electronics it failed to deal with ur heavy collective movements. get higher discharge batteries. they will give u a better constant headspeed when its underload

  • @simon4557

haha correct!!! That's exactly what happened! Good job.

It had the 430xl in there, so it wasn't loss of power or battery discharge problems, I put a 9T in there cuz anything else would rip apart the crappy G2 head!

The low headspeed contributed to tail kickout.

The only reason for this upgrade was because I was waiting for my copterx to ship. So I had the electronics on there for 3 weeks only.

  • damn that sounded like a hard hit

  • Damn, hit the ground hard, was it ok? good flyin thoug, and hey we all crash true.

  • Haha, it hit at 100% throttle, but it didn't really hit hard. If you crash hard, the frame on the Raptor breaks into pieces, this crash was ok, just needed to replace the blades/blade holders and shafts. I'm no longer flying the Raptor, I got a CopterX and put the parts on there, you can check out the latest videos if you wanta see that in action.

  • hey david have u got cnc upgrades for g2 and if so are they worth the money or does flight charactoristics change??? PS dont mind my spelling

  • Hey paddlefoot, nope, the head/tail is stock.

Metal upgrades wouldn't change much. The metal head has lots of play, same as the plastic almost. The metal tail might help keep the tail stable, but not that much. The stock parts are good enough for me. I don't think it's worth the money.

Use what you have. If you break the servos, get some $13 hitec HS55 or 56's, that'll improve your flight characteristics the most.

    If you want CNC, get a 450SE V2. CopterX($225) or Align ($400).

  • hey david went to copterx site is that a spin off of the trex 450 se v2???

  • Yup, it's a complete duplicate of the Trex450SEV2. People say the level of quality and build on par with the Trex, both being imported from Asia, this is probably true. The parts are supposed to be completely interchangeable, so that's really convenient. I ordered mine, so when I get it I'll compare it to my friend's Trex450SEV2. If it's good, it's a good deal at almost half the price!

  • cool let me know what u think of it Ive always wanted the trex but to much money

  • Ya, same here, but the price is just inflated because there was no competition. Now it's evolving like the IBMs and IBM clones. Other brands will emerge, and prices will be driven down.

Yup, I'll let you know how it turns out. Stay tuned.

  • ahahah thats funny but nice flyin

  • Hahha, ya it was a pretty sweet crash.

Normally I can pull out of invert without losing altitude, but you can see the tail slipping 180 degrees, and I didn't correct with the right cyclic because I'm not pro.

I guess I better practice piro flips! haha.

  • Yup, 13T pinion with a 430XL, 35X, 2200mAh Air Thunder 25C. It's got a lot of power. HS65HB cyclic servos all around, GY401, and a 9254 digital servo on the tail.

I don't know why it was spinning, but I put on a Trex flybar/paddle set last night, hopefully she flys a lot more responsive now!

It had the stock yellow flybar paddles with weights on there; probably the cause of the spinning during flipping.

  • how in the h--- did u get that 430xl in there

did u have too split main frame???

  • Haha, it's a tight fit, if your pinion is too high on the shaft, it won't fit, you need to remove the pinion, then the motor fits in these side opening, then put the pinion on the shaft from the top.

It's mounting screws fit perfectly in the frame after that.

It's an awesome motor for it. Too much speed probably, but oh well, you can reduce your throttle curve to reduce headspeed.

  • nice did u jam the 430 motor into that thing.
