The words spoken in the beginning of this video and those spoken later ( substitute Iraq or Afghanistan for Vietnam ) still resonated today. 42+ years later we have not changed much. Maybe some day the United States that RFK envision will come to be. Some men see things as they are and say why I dream things that never were and say why not. Rich, poor, black, white. gay, straight, right or left we must work together
On June 4, 1968 I went to bed about the time the announcement was made that RFK had won the California primary. I woke up the next morning to get ready to go to school to see my father, totally ashen faced, standing in the kitchen telling me he had been shot. I'll never forget it for sure. We really lost something in this nation when Bobby and Jack were killed.
Robert Kennedy had been in the mix long enough to know how things work at the top end of the Executive Branch. We certainly will never know, but my thoughts are that he had such a mix of humility, humanity, tragedy, experience, courage & push that, with his experience & unique intensity, the United States lost one of its best possible presidents in June of 1968. RIP, RFK.
I hope he can at least be a tremendous influence to our great country's new leaders, by studying him.
Your right Birdy he is amazing human .. today his words mean more then ever and im glad you see that.. we all need moral courage!. God Bless u all.. And See u in heaven Bobby :)!
I also hope his message reaches out to the people still, so that the message stands clear like flame in the night. Bobby, you were truely the greatest among men.
despite the controversy. bobby kennedy was a great man and stood up up for what's right for america and it's citizens, when nobody wanted to stand up for them. regardless his legacy will live on. my parents always spoke high of the kennedys. saw them both in person. JFK in la '60 at the DNC, and RFk while he was parading in east la in '68. god bless!
When I was a child I saw on TV Ambassador Hotel at 4-5 juin 1968, and I had a real shocke. My parents spoke me about him, I grew up and understood more, and it change my person. He change a lot of people and mooved the world.
After his assasination 41 years passed, I was born later but he give me a hope every time, when saw him and listen, what he said, and when I feel, that this is inside me.
I love this video. Another beautiful tribute to Bobby Kennedy. I wish so much he could been elected President, because I know he would have done great things for this country, and probably the world. I love to hear Bobby's speeches! Thank youi so much! Carol
Robert Kennedy was is and will be my personal role model. He wasent perfect, the mistakes he made any one could have done but the great deeds he did few could do. Bobby God Bless you and I hope that your message of hope, peace and courage lives on to inspire the next Generations.
Bobby was my hero in 1968 and has always been the one man that inspires me. He is alive in so many of us, and I have passed his influence to my children and grandchildren. Bobby was not a perfect, but he was a perfectly fine human being. His compassion, gentelness, courage, hope and message of peace is as resonant today as it was in 1968. You changed my life in such a wonderful way. Thank you and I love you, Bobby....If only....
