If you kids thinking of going cav should start running 4-8 miles a day thats what cav do. Prepare to run your ass off your whole army career. The field is pretty chill other than that its ok. @Cornholio7575 It took about 30 minutes for the whole "ceremony". Not much to it really. The platoons come out and each soldier states rank,name, and where they're from. Then a couple of videos of what they did during training. Oh, and also some outstanding soldiers get awards. That's about it. This was my ex-husband's graduation here.

No. An Armor Officer (19A) Can and will serve in both. His Platoon leader time may be served in either a Tank or a Scout Platoon. Over the years I've learned that those (19A) officers who have led a scout Platoon consider it the the most rewarding position of there career.
It was really tough at first.. Once you are able to write and call it's a little better.. I always used to look forward to those times when I got a call or letter.. Now we live together but he's away at ntc. The hardest is when you guys leave. It's something you can never get used to. Just have to learn to be strong and learn how to deal with it.. Cherish every moment together. It does get tough.
my drill sergeant at relaxin jackson was a cav scout. that guy would sneak up behind you and kick your m16 right out of your damn hands just to see if you were awake. then it was you better get the f*ck down there with it haha

I remember the 6'7' DS named Crawford. He fucked with Echo troop everytime he saw us in chow. I got my balls smoked for farting by DS Nyakundi. Too funny.

I presently am with the department of corrections. Most Cav scouts in my guard unit are cops or some type of law enforcement. I'm sure their are other careers it would help with, but if your looking for a particular trade to use as a civilian, Cav Scout might not be for you. Cav Scouts are the "jack of all trades, master of none". Basically meaning we do everything, but specialize in nothing. There are scout skills that are tested, so I probably shouldn't say "nothing".
And as I say "worst" drill sgt. I in no way mean he was bad at what he did. He in my opinion was one of the best at his job. However, My favorite will always be DS Johnson. You will get in great shape going through any basic, and will gain the respect of many. Go into it open minded, the hardest part is your loved ones back home. Try and block them from your mind and push through. Hope you guys do great in basic, and glad some more people decided to serve this great country! Hooah!
PVTPalach, I don't really understand why you are trying to fill new enlistee's heads full of bs... When was this basic? I was in echo troop from feb. 19th+. Ds heap was always in a bad mood, however I don't think its as hard as you make it out to be. DS Netzel was the worst ds, however he left halfway through basic.
Hey cav scout training is pretty easy to get in, im signed up in the army to go august 9th next year to go to fort knox u do bootcamp an ait school all there at fort knox, it takes 18 weeks to complete
ya i went through the whole cycle. Basic and Ait . this is my AIT troop E 5/15 and i was in second platoon. an you get let down thinkin its all motivating when then just fuck wit you for 16 weeks. so if u want the hardest you will get it.

I remember the 6'7' DS named Crawford. He fucked with Echo troop everytime he saw us in chow. I got my balls smoked for farting by DS Nyakundi. Too funny.

I presently am with the department of corrections. Most Cav scouts in my guard unit are cops or some type of law enforcement. I'm sure their are other careers it would help with, but if your looking for a particular trade to use as a civilian, Cav Scout might not be for you. Cav Scouts are the "jack of all trades, master of none". Basically meaning we do everything, but specialize in nothing. There are scout skills that are tested, so I probably shouldn't say "nothing".

And as I say "worst" drill sgt. I in no way mean he was bad at what he did. He in my opinion was one of the best at his job. However, My favorite will always be DS Johnson. You will get in great shape going through any basic, and will gain the respect of many. Go into it open minded, the hardest part is your loved ones back home. Try and block them from your mind and push through. Hope you guys do great in basic, and glad some more people decided to serve this great country! Hooah!

PVTPalach, I don't really understand why you are trying to fill new enlistee's heads full of bs... When was this basic? I was in echo troop from feb. 19th+. Ds heap was always in a bad mood, however I don't think its as hard as you make it out to be. DS Netzel was the worst ds, however he left halfway through basic.

Hey cav scout training is pretty easy to get in, im signed up in the army to go august 9th next year to go to fort knox u do bootcamp an ait school all there at fort knox, it takes 18 weeks to complete

ya i went through the whole cycle. Basic and Ait . this is my AIT troop E 5/15 and i was in second platoon. an you get let down thinkin its all motivating when then just fuck wit you for 16 weeks. so if u want the hardest you will get it.
