I know hearing white bands, primarily from the hippie generation, was the gateway for my discovery of good old blues. If I hadn't heard Clapton do Crossroad Blues I would never have heard the Johnson version. If I hadn't heard SRV to Hide Away I would never had heard the Freddie King version. Color doesn't matter if you can feel the blues.
