  • was great indeed tight drummer that can shuffle bass great Rip Sean LESPAULS Rock forever..oh yea

  • cool cat on bass, solid guy

  • genius is this young man, no one like him. RIP a special person indeed

  • I miss this guy

  • Sean was and is one of the most genuine and monster talents ever. To be honest I'm completely obsessed with that goldtop! to the guy who thinks he needs a strat, uh try watching his other videos.(surf green plays it quite a bit) I prefer him on the original 53' or his tele. Regardless, the man is the real deal folks, I love this guy.

  • Sean played Blues the right way, with " Passion".

  • Sean, you are fantastic brother! Band is tight, very nice! The Les Paul with the P90 pickups sounds fantastic, great guitar for jump blues, the sustain you are getting is unreal.

  • @PeterVadim I actually believe he is playing a REAL '53 Les Paul. . . One of the finest instruments he could be playing. Besides, his tone says there must be some quality somewhere in it, no matter what it may be.

  • how cool is Mr Bass??! Rock solid. What do we need to say about SC that has not been said. It is Chicago B L U E S in its deepest form! Thanks for this post!

  • I think JB Lenoir would really appreciate this version.

  • always laugh at people who say the blues should only be played on fenders...the blues can be played on anything, its all in the hands baby.

also, the only reason the strat has become this blues instrument is because of the SRV hype, dont get me wrong, he is one of my biggest favourites but id rather find my own tone and style instead of copying SRV...so many copycats these days and i think thats why blues isnt getting out of BBQ joints

  • now, a true Strat is a great thing, but i like the tones coming out of my axe....old Silvertone with a Les Paul bridge pickup. can't get no more Bluesin' than that baby!

  • yeh dont get me wrong, i play own a strat and love it, its just the SRV hype that gets me, i wish people would be a bit more original and discover their own sound, btw old silvertones rock!= )

  • @Toris93

You're wrong about SRV bringing the strat to blues.

    It came from Buddy himself.

  • @JilaX I never said SRV was the first to play the blues on a strat, i said that the current strat hype is because of him. also, people used strats before Buddy Guy, Johnny Guitar Watson for example, but the whole "who started it" discussion is dumb and useless

  • @Toris93 I never said you said that.

However, Buddy is responsible for the current strat craze, not SRV. He's why SRV, Clapton, Beck, etc etc picked up the strat in the first place.

  • @JilaX People been playin' the blues on strats since Leo first started cranking them out.

  • Sean was the real deal. He ooozed the blues.

  • I with you t5ravlr423! He could have been playing a barb wire fence, a shoe string , anyhting he touched he made sing!

  • More grit, but Robben's got mammoth chops and soul to spare.

  • As much as I respect the likes of Robben Ford, I hope he's heard this version as it has more soul grit and vibe than his ever will...!

  • Oh dear...Come back when you know what you're talking about..."too jazzy" !

When someone plays with the feeling Sean did it doesn't matter what they're was playing..

    LOL..your a funny guy though.

  • So I spent all night watching youtube missing Sean and all I can think of of is Aaron and Apul and course Sean's family. : (

I love watching these vids but cry the whole time. i wish so much there was a way to bring you back my friend. promise to see me again someday, besides in my dreams and on youtube!

  • LOL a better guitar?!? are u serious? too jazzy?!? hahahaha!! good stuff buddy, you're funny...

  • Some foot stomping stuff. God bless. What a shitter he left so early.

  • The Blues is Hard: Sean was good!

    R.I.P. Sean

  • Sean also played a Strat too, what a monster player he was, he just had tone in his soul, I love the sound he got with the Gold Top, not too jazzy for me.

  • i dont care if he's playing a barb wire fence he's damn good.

  • I can't see what you mean. Sorry.

I'm 17 too, and I'm sick of the amount of Strat equipped hordes of SRV clones.

I use a strat myself, but that's beside the point.

And, I honestly can't see what's jazzy about his tone.

Search for "It's My Own Faul" and listen there. Do you think that's jazzy?

    ...

  • I listened to that, its great...but mabye cause thats a slower tempo than this tune...I dunno

  • I think he just had a bit more overdrive. A different amp probably, or even being allowed to crank the amp a bit further.

A Strat probably wouldn't have solved the problem, I'm sure of it :)

  • That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

Goldtops with P90s are excellent blues guitars. Muddy used one for christs sake, what more do you need?

  • Better guitar? Now you may not be into the looks of a vintage goldtop, but that's a KILLER guitar. Gibson should make more p-90 guitars.

  • Sean played a Signature '53 Gibson Les Paul Goldtop.

  • Great gig in Menen.

  • Sean ill miss you 4eva u were like my brother i knew u the day i was born since our parents knew eachother I MISS YOU SEAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i can't believe he's gone. You will be missed, Sean, you already are.

  • It's with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to Sean. Thanx for the toons bro. R.I.P.

    Ciarz

  • very very nice! a great version - thanks for posting. :)

  • Great, awesome guitar playing.

  • What a voice! What a guitar player! A good guy too! This is the future of the blues in my book.
