  • i dont know about any other policy, but thanks for this one

  • Boycott business which support open borders cheap labour policies which actually hurt Americans.

  • Let the people rule themselves! Let them decide gay marriage.

    2. It is not anti-gay to be for marriage as between male and female.

    3. If a corporation doesn't support liberals it's evil? really?

  • Target supported a pro-Business candidate. Big deal. If gays have a problem with the other morality issues of the candidate that was supported, maybe they should push the democrats to be pro-Business instead of pro-socialism. Then Target would support the party that holds your beliefs.

  • Just spent a lot of money at TARGET this Christmas season... Not only did I get myself a PS3 I did most of my Christmas shopping for the family there. Only a few shopping days left 'til Christmas.

  • I have not shopped at Target since this came out last spring and I still will NOT!

  • But she loves him more then things you can't find at target

  • If Emmer is elected I'm literally moving to another state.

  • I'm now ashamed to hate Target.

  • Republicans and Dems --- isn't it all an agenda for themselves in the end?

  • I just don't get it, I and all my other gay friends love target.

  • this is stupid, who cares target can do whatever they want.

  • I haven't shopped at Target since I heard about this. Bigotry cannot be rewarded!

  • What INTELLIGENT American wouldn't want a bill passed that requires transparency for campaign elections?

  • i dont know anyone who is boycotting target where i live.

i just came back from there & everything looks the same as usual.

  • so are u saying that everyone that shops at target is a rabid fundamentalists.

  • I don't want to shop at stores to use my money to support clowns like Tom Emmer. Mark Dayton in 2010!

  • I'm participating in the boycott only because I don't believe corporations have any business dealing with politicians. What's next? Product placement? Sponsors? What bothers me is that this money could have gone to far better causes. The people of this country need help. The politicians do not.

In a time of economical disaster, I would hope that those with much would remember those who have little. But hey, that's never been the American way. Capitalism over compassion. Profit over people. Lame.

  • @DeathByBadger Are you against corporations that promote your political agenda or only those who support the position you don't stand for?

  • Why can't people just accept other's and not think that they are better than every one else? :( Beautiful world in diversity!

  • What does Olbermann call the millions George Soros gives to liberal causes and candidates every year? I guess it's ok, as long as you're only giving to the left. Fucking hypocrite.

I am for gay marriage, but this boycott shit is wrong. It makes them no different then the Christians that boycott Disney for giving benefits for gays couples. The only difference? Ideology.

Liberals and conservatives are both ruining this country. Why should the majority of America have to settle for either.

  • Wake up to big business this is how they work. The DONT care about who shops there and who doesnt I've worked in retail for 20 years. You stop today and a new customer comes in tomarrow. You might as well shout at a rock as to talk to a CEO of any company

  • im not going to not shop at target... it wont do shit anyways.

  • I like how people act that just because you're anti gay marriage it means you're discriminatory towards that group of people. I don't believe women should be cops or firemen but I like women. People need to get off their politically correct high horse and get real.

  • @quadster Women shouldn't be cops or firemen? How is that not discriminatory? Go back to 1945 or "get real" kiddo.

  • @DeathByBadger It's not descriminatory because most women can't handle those jobs, just like most men aren't mid wifes, or kindergarten teachers, or make-up artists.

  • Target National Bank, the credit divison of Target, is

not doing well. The management has implemented policies

and rules that are impossible to understand much less

follow. Subsequently, many employees are getting FIRED

daily due to being unable to follow the impossible rules.

Why? So they can outsource it all to India, and they'll

be damned if they're going to be paying anymore

    unemployment insurance.

How do I know this? I was at the meeting, and I helped

    write the rules.

  • Nice makeup Obermann, you fucking clown.

  • Countdown with Keith Olbermann

  • Waste of time. But then again, isn't everything this clown reports on been a waste of time.

  • VIVA LA REVOLUTION, VIVA LA REVOLUTION, VIVA LA REVOLUTION

  • Transparency by Democrats -- what a joke. Democrats suck up corporate dollars as much as Republicans, even from places like Target. Check contributions to Obama's campaign. Check Target's contributions to ALL politicians in Minnesota. The left loves accusing opposite views with either the race or anti-gay card.

  • @stogs1832 And the right loves accusing opposite views with the communist and anti-American card. I don't believe Target is anti-gay anymore than you, but I am opposed to them contributing money to ALL politicians in Minnesota just to cover their asses. It sends a clear message that they are trying to buy favors from whomever wins the election. I will not shop there for that reason. Thank you!

  • This is a Progressive rant to shout down the opposition.

George Soros, Moveon.org as well asJesse Jackson's Rainbow Coalition have been shaking down corporations into supporting depraved causes and candidates for years. Ironically, Target has been very LGBT affirming. I guess they just aren't Muslim enough. Today is tax free shopping in Texas. I'm going to shop at Target! Thanks for the heads up. I'm letting all of my traditional values friends know. Thanks for the heads up!

  • @Ragfish Ah, you're from Texas. That explains everything.

  • @sheba1928 If America was the last hope for freedom in the world, Texas is the last hope for liberty in America!

  • Emmer fit's the closeted type perfectly to me.

  • Anyone who considers themselves progressives wouldn't be shopping at a multi-national corporation like Target. It's just Walmart but red. I don't understand why a gay rights activist would be shopping at Target in the first place. Maybe she's just progressive for some issues. hahaha

  • There is something much more terrifying than one candidate's stance on LGBT rights at play here, and that is corporations being able to give unlimited funds to the candidates of their choosing, thanks to a flawed partisan supreme court decision. In the US, the candidate with the most money wins most of the time, so this ruling has essentially made it official that US government offices are up for sale, that corporations will get to pick the candidates. There should be more protests. Many more.

  • It is Targets choice who they want to donate money to, they give back plenty of money back to the comnunites.

  • I refuse to support Emmer or anyone who refuses to support same-sex marriage. If Target is one who supports Emmer, then I refuse to that business.

  • Target fires for life! If you were fired by target, you CAN'T go to another states and get a target job. I support gay rights in this case because of the other policy. I want to see target fail

  • freedom of fucking speech its there dam chose its TARGET come on its his chose you bunch of hippies

  • @astroidboy54321 Your clarification on freedom of speech makes me want to cock slap you right ahead. Its the gay people who are being bullied and pushed here by TARGET. And looking your post explains that you have never been to school and it makes me sad that people like you often turns out to be hippies. I feel extremely sorry for you miserable life. Good Luck anyway.

  • @astroidboy54321 What is this saying? This doesn't make any sense.

  • Someone should boycott the Targets in Illinois.

  • This is a good video... it's not loaded, or not as much so as what I've seen elsewhere. I've had trouble getting a clear picture of what was going on here because the internet is abuzz with very angry people. It was a bad decision, in retrospect... I don't think it was a fatal one, however. Nor does it seem to be an attack on the LGBT community so much as an unfortunate product of a lack of foresight... Am I missing something? Is there more to the story?

  • @jedipwnces No you aren't missing anything. It's just the gay rights people getting their panties in a bunch. It's always about social issues(mainly them)and never about anything or anyone else.

  • Religion, the proof that your philosophy is completey irrational...

You expect to take benefits from all Americans by not paying taxes and enjoy that liberty, then use that advantage to oppress certian minorities... gays.

Then you expect businesses who we support to do the same to us, we do not have to support our own oppression and will not! Churches in promotion of hate speech and bigotry against other equal tax paying Americans, must have their tax exempt status revoked immediately!!

  • Shopping for crap?

Keith Olbermann just showed how much a limousine liberal he is.

Also, it is not like Tom Emmer is hiding his marriage policies by playing up the economic policies - this is largely a smear piece put on by a left-wing political hack. This has nothing to do with objective news coverage; this makes Glenn Beck look normal.

  • Why do politicians have to talk about all of their views in one ad? Emmer's ads have focused on economics because we are in the middle of a recession, and deficits are out of control.

  • I thought there was supposed to be a separation between 'church & state'? That the Government was not allowed to be involved with religious matters? Yet marriage itself is a 'religious matter'... And 'gay marriage' is also a 'religious matter'... So that the Government itself is involved with any marriage legislation to begin with is beyond me... If you really want separation from religious matters Government, why are you involved with marriages?

  • You Can't Micro-Manage The World

And in the case of Bradlee Dean, concerning his comments, right or wrong, he has EVERY RIGHT to believe and say what he wants. He is given protection under the same Constitution in which guarantees you're right to say what you want about him, Emmer, and or Target...

  • You Can't Micro-Manage The World (cont.)

So DEAL WITH IT homosexual community. You cannot micro-manage the world to cater around you're chosen lifestyles. That you believe that anyone should cater to you're beliefs is like Christianity forcing you to be something that you say you are not. Kinda calling the kettle black in the Target matter when you yourselves cried about how Christianity forced you to live a certain way... See?

  • @2222554 Huge fail... Move to Iran where you ideology is fully realized.. In America we have a bill of Rights, we have separation of Church and State with damn good reason.. YOU being the proof of why we need it. The only choice is your corrupt philosophy, and corrupt bronze age mythology. We actually have photo's of the differences in the gay brain, your justifications are completely corrupt, like stealing from mentally challenged people is what you are doing.

  • @MyITRcom Do you really wanna go at it? I am RIPE to tear you a new asshole about now. i am in the perfect mood. So if you really think that you speaking to me right now is going to be a positive thing think again... Also you better go back and read my statements closer blindy... I stated that corporations/companies have 'SIMILAR' rights to 'INDIVIDUAL' rights. That they as corporations can act as an individual in matters of laws. regulations and contracts.... So try again...

  • @2222554 Typical of your corrupt philosophy, precisely the irrational tactics of your Terrotist God.. Idle threats and empty promises. Correct! You are right they can, i am not in disagreement, but they can certianly expect a backlash and for other individuals who have rights as well to NOT have any duty to support their own oppression. They may may want to rethink their stratgey as this is an epic fail.

  • Tell It Like It IS!

So tell it like it really is homosexual community and say that you disprove of any support for anything Christian-like, as is the case with you're push for 'separation of church & state'... That anything that stands against homosexuality in government is what you stand for, and that now you are trying to form a line between 'church & business/corporations' forcing them to cow toy to you're demands.

  • Tell It Like It IS! (cont.)

Well it worked with the government, but to think that you can force this upon corporations/companies, is really showing the lack of care that you have for 'individual rights' of said corporations/companies... You want to see a Revolution in the US? Tell us that we have to accept the loss of corporate individual freedoms and you will get it. Directed right at those that attempt, or actually do, get this Prop 8 passed in California...

  • @2222554 A corporation is not an individual. Epic Fail.

  • @MyITRcom The only FAIL is 'you're' understanding of corporate rights... Asshole...

  • @MyITRcom And another thing fool... I see you're into 'sorcery' as you're channel is evidence of... I cast a spell on you. One that will hopefully make you smarter... because you need all the help you can get. Asswipe...

  • @2222554 Um... your the one into primitive bronze age delusions, not I. Fail again. Your philosopy is corrupt, deal with it.

You dream fully realized for America would be equivalent to an Iraqi dictatorship.

  • @MyITRcom No my beliefs are very modern. I am not fundamentalistic. I am on the cutting edge more than you can tell. That's not my problem though. That's you're bag, and either way I could give a rats ass what you're impression of me and my beliefs are anyways. Got that? I don't live my life to please anyone especially you. And just because you say that America under my rule would be like a Iraqi dictatorship, to that I say then if this be the case, you best get out while you can???

  • @2222554 The cutting edge of what? Well that is definitiely something we both agree on.. Living our lives for others. I also agree with your last statement, that if so many are willing to deny our bill of rights and the constitution, it will be a necessisty to get out while we still can, as this will not be any better then Iran.

  • @2222554 What is the rational basis for your bigotry?

  • @MyITRcom What 'bigotry'? Where did you see me be a 'bigot'?

  • @MyITRcom Perhaps you're the 'bigot'... I mean you have a great dislike for Christians/Christianity... You're a pagan into sorcery. So it's an accurate statement? O know Christians are not bigoted towards 'pagans' as they are required to show them love and attempt to get them saved... So like I said, perhaps you're the bigot?

  • @2222554 But showing extreme care in not letting Corporations hijack our Govenrment.

  • @MyITRcom Whatever...

  • Target's Financial Backing of Anti-Gay Politician

    sfist

    by Matt Baume

Bradlee Dean, the frontman of a Christian rock band in Minnesota called You Can Run But You Cannot Hide, recently said that Muslim countries that execute LGBTs are "more moral than even the American Christians," plus some mouth-foaming about gays engaging in abominations and child molestation.

  • Target's Financial Backing of Anti-Gay Politician (cont.)

So what's the Target connection? Well, Bradlee's ministry received money and support from Tom Emmer, an anti-gay Minnesota Republican running for Governor. And Tom Emmer's campaign got a boost from Minnesota Forward, a PAC running TV ads on his behalf. And Minnesota Forward got $150,000 -- which amounts to about a third of all of their donations -- from Target.

  • Olbermann wanna talk about 'paid for judges'? Let's discuss Chief U.S. District Judge Vaughn R. Walker... Paid and backed by the Gay & Lesbian community? Or by Obama and his leftist trouble makers? You do not like a world which is controlled by corporations, thus that leaves only one other controller in which you stand with. That being the Government as controller. A NWO Government right Olberhmann... Something tells me you're going to be out of work sooner than you realize... Can his ass CNN.

  • (cont.)

So why don't you Liberals say what you are really after with this Target matter... You are looking to stem the tide of REAL change in this country by preventing companies from supporting the officials they want to elect. That this is a unlawful negation of a companies 'RIGHT' to elect officials through the voting process. That you negate their rights to vote in essence and for in whom they are allowed to share their $ support as a voter.

  • (cont.)

Do you dense fools even realize that many companies have the SAME or similar 'civil rights' as a 'individual citizen' of the USA and not a status of many in a corporation. Meaning you are going against the Constitution and it's guaranteed right to choose elected officials, as well individual citizen rights to unimpeded choice in a elected official...

  • Liberal groups push to exploit Target backlash

    Associated Press

    Martiga Lohn

    Friday August 13, 2010, 9:32 am EDT

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- Protesters have been rallying outside Target Corp. or its stores almost daily since the retailer angered gay rights supporters and progressives by giving money to help a conservative Republican gubernatorial candidate in Minnesota.

  • Tom Emmer has contributed money to a heavy metal band/ministry of hate led by Bradlee Dean, who praises the Muslims who call for the executions of gays.

  • anti-gay marriage candidate - oh my!!! Just try on Target underwear, fart then return them - yea, then gays will be able to marry each other, maybe each of you could even marry six gays at once! How about posting names of all Target employees on gay websites, how about making dumb you-tube videos of returned mechandise for gay uncle jake, now gays will marry each other and live happily ever after. Bottom line- Target could care less about gay marriage they support lower taxes.

  • Once again, the best government money can buy... When are Americans going to grow a collective spine and transcend external authority. Why do we need government? All they do is keep the shit stirred so we keep voting for these psychopaths. Fuckin' BEAM ME UP SCOTTY!!!!!

  • Target does not have to apologize for anything. I will shop there more often. Slob liberals need to quit their bellyaching.

  • email Target..Target.Communications@target.com

  • This issue is bigger than Target and even bigger than Gay Rights. It is about the implications of the ruling by the US Supreme Court to confer personhood on corporations. Corporate fat cats take notice. Capitalize on this hideously unjust ruling AT YOUR OWN PERIL! If this stands, then the last shred of democracy in this nation is forever DEAD. We are now a nation of the corporations, by the corporations and FOR THE CORPORATIONS!

  • @mikebdenv This Republic was founded & established by men who believed in the rule of law. It appears the interpretation of the rules & laws are being corrupted by activists & capitalists.

  • My wife has always liked Target and we often shopped there. Now we'll have to look elsewhere. People may not have much power in this country, but we have to find some way to get the big shots to listen and respect the common folks.

  • You have to keep in mind that "states rights" is a left over phrase from the very pro-slavery movement of the mid-1800s. "Popular sovereignty", the right of states to vote on whether or not to allow the enslavement of Africans, is eerily similar to what is going on now with gay marriage. Just because a majority is bigoted, does that mean they have the right to take away the rights of a minority? You are seeing a Civil War mentality from Republicans with the 14th amendment overturn movement too.

  • His family would care.

  • @Augustusa1 You are the reason we can not elect people like Emmer. Freedom of speech ends when you threaten violence.

  • Yeah and who payed for them to run this show Walmart? How many times has Walmart pulled something like this?

  • Given that Emmer's campaign reportedly gave money to a Christian group that is advocating the EXECUTION of gays, I find Target's behavior unbelievably irresponsible. Surely there are smarter ways to promote a better climate for business than unwittingly funneling money to rabid fundamentalists.

  • It's time for the American voters to stand up for fair elections! Go to MoveOn.org and sign up with the Other 98% of us who don't have lobbyists in Washington. Join the 400,000+ citizens who have already signed the pledge!

  • Thank you Randi Reitan for standing up for equal rights for all Americans and for showing everyone a great way to tell corporations to keep their money out of our elections! Anyone who wants to join the fight against the corporate takeover of Washington go to MoveOn.org and join the Fight Corruption in Washington Campaign. Join the Other 98% of us by signing the pledge!

  • As a Target stockholder I am outraged that this CEO is using my money to try to buy an election. I don't care what this CEO jerk Greg Steinhafel wants to spend his money on.... Don't ruin my stock

with your political activities. I hope the board of Directors gets the message and gets ride of this

    moron.

  • I haven't shopped at Target since I heard the news. I won't shop there again until they stop giving to MN Forward, or give an equal amount to the Human Rights Campaign.

  • i love how every one bashes walmart for low wages...yet go to any target, best buy and many home healthcare facilities. their wages are no different.

  • never really cared for target - now i know i will never buy their products

  • I'm sorry, you can't embrace someone for one reason---yet at the same time, disconnect for other things about them you don't like.

IF you back the candidate, you BACK THEM.

Glad someone is talking about what Target and others are doing, what people they are putting into power because of their greed.

Cause, at the end of the day, its money, theirown interest; not the social issues affecting their workers.

    People, Business doesn't care.

  • I just moved my cell phone account from Verizon to Credomobile because Verizon supports right wing ideas. I did it because I want to put my money where my mouth is............... or better said, where my agenda is.

The power is i n the consumers hand.

    Go for it.

    pat

  • I also am boycotting Target ....cut up my card and i will shop for my family and grandchildren elsewhere...

  • This isn't a Democracy, it isn't a Republic; hell, the people who are supposed to be in charge aren't even doing anything. This, fellow youtubers, is Plutocracy at its best.

  • @donXpiano That's right, otherwise known as "Corporatocracy" in some circles. One could call it a "dollar democracy" - one dollar, one vote. Money rules.

  • Target is donating to the homophobic candidate because of the tax cuts Target will gain. Tax cuts do not create jobs. So what Target is aiming for is a governor who will be anti people and pro corporate. Yes boycott Target because if they don't like the people which they don't then why like Target?

  • @666brainiac Tax cuts do not directly create jobs, but they do encourage a more business friendly environment and do encourage business investment. States with low taxes, more favorable union environments, and more streamlined regulations; like Texas, Georgia, Tennessee, and Virginia have developed greatly over the past 20 years and are powering America's economic future. There isn't a partisan monopoly on these issues either.

  • It couldn't be more obvious that Target just wants to fund candidates that will create a better business climate. If you are from the Midwest or Rust Belt like myself, you know bad business climates. Target is not interested in the social issues, maybe Steinhafel is as he is a large Republican donor, but that is his personal business. Boycott Target if you want, but it is a very VERY small minority that has concern about gay rights in general opposed or for.

  • @JohnRhysMusician I am from the Midwest. My state cut taxes for the business. This meant a loss of 23 million in revenue for the state. The jobs created generates only 2 million in revenue for the state. This means a loss of 21 million in revenue for the state. And you call that good business? I call it screw the people of the state, which is what Target wants to do. Don't shop at Target.

  • I don't know whether to boycot Target because they oppose equal rights for all citizens or just because they want another Corporate Whore elected - But I will no longer shop there.

  • @DillonDee1 The only way a right is being denied is if you literally redefine a word. If the definition remains as it has since its existence no one is being discriminated against, as it's technically impossible for gays to marry. No one is stopping them from getting married. All Corporations donate to politicians, good luck finding somewhere to shop. Why does a word have to be redefined? Where do you find in the Constitution the "right" to redefine a word?

  • @icecoldbeerr How far back should we go to use the "original" meaning of marriage? Back when it was used to trade your daughter for sex slavery or property? Or how to own a woman as your own property, or how about how to rape a virgin and keep her as yours? Marriage was changed greatly to what it is today by humanitarians. The only reason it stops at straight couples is because homosexuality has been completely distorted by people with anti-gay agenda, like the CC or the FRC

  • @amongcriminals If gays can get married then I want to marry my150 lb Rotttweiler, it's just as appealing to me as another man's ass hole.

  • @hobo59 why would it matter to you if Keith is gay or not...looking for some action i bet ....we all know you want keith.....

  • These right wing fanatics need to FINALLY realize that we're not going to just stand by and be discriminated against, we're not going to take this lying down anymore. We have rights and they will soon find out just how much financial power we're actually wielding. Target, SHAME ON YOU!

  • @mardi06 the majority oppressing the minority, good job!

  • @mardi06 wow you really are a crusty old dog aren't you? Gay marriage is a HUMAN rights issue. Gay people are in every state. Individual states shouldn't have the power to say who can marry who...I'm interested to know what poll you read that said the majority of the people don't want gay marriage. Or are you just letting your prejudice feelings for gays and lesbians get in the way. Open your eyes old man....

  • so sad..i love target...but they woulda backed hitler if it made them richer..time to move on..

  • If you see it from the Political standpoint seeing as Target has made this donation as an interes group which wants to benefits from whatever Emmer has said he will do once he is governor of MN, I live in a California and Gay, a strictly Democratic state and I cant help but think this is all strategy that politicans are known about to get the public to see/ or vote for the opponent or vote for Emmer because he has tackled the most controversial Issue, LGTB rights. That is their platform for 2010

  • Target never bothered to check Emmer's platform, they just gave him cash because he's Republican. That they would even try to defend their actions by saying they actually 'qualify' recipients of their funding is pathetic. I'm so glad this came back to haunt them. Tom Emmer is God's way of saying Republicans are insane.

  • People fear what they don't understand. This guy's a bit of a sad case.

  • Yea Keith for explaining the issue with clear terms and showing us all what happens when politicians run amuck.

  • I really liked Target... and Best Buy... But fuck 'em now.

  • @erinmichaelfinney You actually liked BestBuy.. good lord..

  • well I will stop shopping at Target and Best Buy...I will encourage my friends to do the same...there are so many choices besides Target and Best BUY!!

  • Oh please, Tom Emmer went to an all-male, Catholic, military, college-preparatory high school. Looks like something made him unhappy in that school...

  • @PGContributor With that kind of background, seems to me Emmer has little in common with most people, who went to public school. What possible good could he do?

  • So anyone want to make a bet on how long before we see Tom Emmer on the news for being busted sucking dick in a men's room!! These right wing anti gay politicians always end up being closet case homosexuals!

  • @MrJjay91274 hahaha so true!but he"ll prob be busted for sucking underage dick in a hotel..

  • Target National Day Of Protest On August 15th You can find these events by doing a search on facebook

  • This is not just about gay marriage - this is about freedom and justice for LGBT Americans across the board that would be universally fought by Tom Emmer.

  • I call for bankruptcy :)))
