  • if I'm an nc 20 should i go with sp10 or sp20?

  • @giiiirrrl89 sorry I am not sure I would get color matched

  • Do you still feel the same way about this foundation or have you found another you like better?

  • @FUDGECOPPER yes love it for summer

  • Hi there Lisa! :-) I can't find the ingredients list anywhere :-(

    - Any idea if the sunscreen ingredients are mainly chemical (eg. Avobenzone, Mexoryl...) or mineral (Titanium Dioxide, Zinc oxide)??

    - Are there any (or a lot of) oils in the list? (I need to watch out for breakouts!)

    - Last but so not least: you obviously have very gorgeous skin, but I have to deal with large pores...:( Do you have any idea how people with large pores do with this?

Thanks for oh so helpful review!!

  • @patoche360 I am not sure on ingerdients- sorry- I dont find it sinking in to pores

  • how does this foundation look in pictures? I want to purchase it so bad but I'm just wondering because of the high spf that it contains :)

  • @mishellarox it flashes back white! :o(

  • @Lisasz09 Is there any foundation that is similar to this that can be worn in the nighttime and won't flash back white that you recommend? I don't mind getting this for the daytime and another for the nighttime?

  • @mishellarox I would say chanel pro lumiere or matte lumiere dependign on the finish yoiu want or MUFE matt velvet Plus

  • Lisa, i heard it isnt good at all for dry skin.. and does it look cakey or look natural?

also because of the high spf have you found you cant tan, because im really pale and live in a cold country so its important that i tan on holiday.. please reply since all your other review have been so accurate for me !

  • @City96Girl it can look cakey for dry skin- I would suggest something like MUFE HD for someone with dry skin

  • @City96Girl pale skin looks good as long as your healthy, tanning actually damages your skin, when your skin gets tanned that means your skin has already been damaged and its trying to protect itself.

  • Lisa I am contemplating this foundation but i would really love an answer to this - since it is "water proof" do you ever get clogged pores from not being able to remove it completely? how do you remove it so that you dont break out from leftover product?

  • @NetteDidHarry no but I use a clarsonic to remove it and then a toner!

  • can i get shiseido in the u.k?? xx

  • @princesslauren099 sorry I am not sure

  • @princesslauren099 yes you can get this in the uk :) they stock it at selfridges, some house of frasers do it i think, well they did last time i went in westfields, but i know they definately have it in some john lewis', not sure if all stock it but the one in brent cross shopping centre stocks it :)

  • @princesslauren099 You can they sell it in john lewis

  • @Odio I have not noticed the white cast!

  • this is the best for your skin especially if you get a lot of sun. I love how light and sheer it feels on your skin it gives me glowing skin and is great cause I am out in the sun quite a bit. I dont want skin damage when I am older I want to stay young looking.

  • do you still feel the same way even after a year about this foundation?

  • @Unavoidable2569 yes! :o)

  • @Lisasz09 I go out and get this foundation today, as temperatures are rising I thought I try this one for summer. Can you tell me please if you set it with powder? Does it need to be set with powder? I get shiny in my t-zone very much throughout the day ... Thanks.

  • @babycake390 I do set it with a powder in my t-zone when needed.

  • Are you supposed to wear anything on top of it, like powder?

  • @mandymac502 you dont have to but you can if you want to! I do

  • 'She-say-doe' that's how ya say it. :] just cause you told us not to correct you....

  • I have dry skin but no blemishes and every time i wear foundation it looks cakey, would this be a good foundation for my skin type?

  • @MissDa255 you should try Dior Nude, Girgio Armani or Guerlain luminious!

  • i absolutly love the shit your wearing! it looks great on you.

  • Hi Lisa,

I just bought this yesterday & I am test driving it today :) I live in a hot climate & I think I may have hit the jackpot. I find that to get the ideal color match I mixed it with my Nars Sheer Glow.

Are you still enjoying this foundation a year after the fact?

Do you still think it's the best out there?

    Please let me know, thanks!

  • @patoespanola I still love it- I am trying and liking the guerlain right now too!

  • if im an nw15 then what shade would i be in this foundation? any help is much appreciated guys, thanks x (plz email me your answer)

  • @boredoutmybrain I think 30 would work but you should get matched to be sure

  • I went to a Shiseido counter and unfortunately they couldn't match me. They were all too pink for me. :( It was disappointing because I was really excited about this foundation! ^ ^ I was successfully matched at Lancome. I tried the Teint Idole Fresh Wear foundation! I was wondering if you could do a review on that foundation since I didn't buy it. But am planning on going back. I just want to be sure if its a good choice!! Thank you so much!

  • @ElleMello I do plan on doing a review so far I do like it! :o)

  • How would you describe the colour of the foundation that you have? SP70, you said, is it more for a pink or yellow undertones people? do you know about SP60 is it more pink or more yellow again? I am not sure which one to buy as they don't sell it here where I live, so I have to buy it through the internet. And it is so difficult to choose the shade. I am more on the pink side and now I am tanned. Uff. Help please....

  • @puskar007 70 is more of a yellow undertone and 60 is lighter and more of a pink undertone! I would say the 70 is like a MAC NC35 and the 60 is more like a NW30! I hope this helps!

  • @Lisasz09 thank you very much for a prompt reply. You are such a great helper!

  • This review was so helpful! I am super excited about it! Thank you so much! :D But I have one question, how long will one container of the Shiseido foundation last? :o

  • @PrincessQPatsy I would say about 1 1/2- 2 months depending on how often you use it and how much you use!

  • Will they professionally match you at a Macy's counter for this? Is this a foundation that can be used without powder? Love your reviews!! Extremely helpful!! ^ ^ ♥

  • @ElleMello yes they will match you at the counter! I do use it a lot without powder! :o)

  • i recently went to a counter for shiseido excited because i wanted to buy this and the lightest color is still pretty dark on my skin! :-( what should do just buy it and mix it with something else huh i really want to buy it but not sure i highly trust in shisedo though im pretty conflicted LOL thanx for your input if you can

  • @beckychave I would suggest trying teh MUFE matte velvet plus because they have lighter colors and it is the closest I have found!

  • Where can I find this to purchase? I tried looking at the Sephora website but I didn't see it. I am very limited on counters, since I live in a small town so finding online would be my best option. Also, I wanted to know what shade would be best for me. I'm half asian so I am on the light, warm, yellow under-tone.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Btw, love your videos! I find the so resourceful! ;)

  • @AsahinaKazuma it isnt sold at sephora- I have to order it directly from the website or at a macy's counter! I would guess you are a 50 or 60. It is best to call and ask someone though!

  • is this good for dry skin?

  • @xhellokittyx465 it is fine for dry skin! :o)

  • lol, found the review! and you say it shee-see-dough

  • Have you tried the Shiseido Sun Protection Lotion? I can't find many reviews on that and I'm debating between getting the lotion & wearing under my Makeup Forever HD or just getting the foundation since its got the spf I want.

  • @PearlinBloom I have not tried that yet! I like the MAC prep and Prime SPF 50 for a foundation that doesnt have spf in it!

  • @Lisasz09 Just a reminder. The lotion is the same as the foundation, they are both very water resistant. I doubt the MUFE liquid foundation will stay. I have the sun protection lotion too. It is "AMAZING".

  • @Lisasz09 Just a reminder. The lotion is the same as the foundation, they are both very water resistant. I doubt the MUFE liquid foundation will stay. I have the sun protection lotion too. It is "AMAZING".

    FYI: SHE-SAY-dou

  • i have to buy this fundation :)))

  • Yay, finally my country sells Sheseido!!! I will try out tomorrow. God I am having high expectation because of you Lisa!

  • Lisa I bought this a couple weeks ago and LOVE it...HOLY GRAIL for me!! After your review and Sardun1- I HAD to get this stuff lol :) I seriously do not want to be without it...Have you tested this in a pool?? Can you tell me how it held up for you swiming? :)

  • @sweechpie i did wear it in a pool last year and it did fade change slightly! but it did better than any others I have tried! :o)

  • @Lisasz09- thats awesome Lisa! Cant wait to try it swiming..I am seriously in LOVE with this stuff..beautiful finish I can't get over it lol :)))

  • have you tried the laura mercier silk creme foundation? is it comparable to this?

  • @abgjp1 I have not tried that one yet!

  • is this foundation great for oily skin? I'm worried that because of the SPF, i might get a bit oily on my t-zone at the end of the day...

  • @abgjp1 i have not had that issue- but in the summer when I use this most I use a mattifier first! :o)

  • Thanks Liza for this superb review. You know you really influenced me in purchasing this one from the Philippines. It's really damn hot here so I really need a good foundation that can resist heat, humidity, sweat, oil and would still be able to function well!! Thanks no regrets of purchasing this one!

  • Have you tried shiseido "the makeup" foundation...I wonder how it compares, I believe its more expensive.

  • I have not yet tried that one- I will check ot out! :o)

  • yea its on sephora or the shseido website but the colors..omg ...I dont even know where to start they have like fair light ,beige light ,ocre light...im like whaaaa lol I need to call the macys in the city and see if they have a counter I guess...they can figure out my color for me :) Im also looking at the illuminating cheek color in petal..it looks to die for :)

  • I like the sound of this foundation. I have been looking for my HG foundation for a while now and have had no luck. My question is..... How does this foundation look on pictures? I have used other spf foundations and look "ghostly/washed out" I go to a lot of concerts so this will do well as far as being matte and sweat proof, but I am afraid of the high spf for indoor flash photography :(

Another thing too... I have combo skin, but get some dry patches. Does it make them look flaky?

  • I dont have that issue with this founadtion! :o) I have combo normal oily sin so i am not sure how it will work with dry patches but I have not had any issues with it!

  • Thanks! I am going to get a sample asap! :)

  • The shiseido suncare line is amazing.the

Regular sunscreen works for kids too.

    You Pronounce Shiseido

    See-shay(as in way)-dough

    Peace

  • I can't find this on their website did they discontinue it?

  • no I saw it yesterday at my Macys! :o)

  • would you recommend this to people with large pores? Every foundation I have tried, even high end foundations, make my pores look huge by the end of the night--it looks like my skin has aged about 10 years. Please let me know:)

  • this one doesnt settle as bad as some others so i would think it would be better! I hope it works for you!

  • I went into macy's and asked for a sample and so far I really love it! The woman at the counter sold me their pore minimizer that she said I could wear underneath it and so far I'm really happy with this foundation thanks again for another great review!

  • hi lisa, have u tried the shiseido spf 60 lotion? if so, can u also use it as a primer?

  • I have not tried it and I am not sure if you can use it as a primer!

  • hey lisa

i definitely wanna try this foundation

    since summer's coming up

and its so hard to find a foundation where

i dont sweat it out in the summer lol

but do you know where i can get it besides online

so i can try a sample at a counter or something

    thanks so much lisa

    you make the best reviewss

  • you can go to a counter and get color matched- they dont carry it in sephora though! Good Luck!

  • Its a full coverage product but can it be sheered out with a wet sponge or does it dry too fast to sheer it out. I prefer a medium coverage . Thanks!

  • Hi Lisa! Do you know if the foundation is oil-free?

  • I believe it is but I dont have the box anymore so I am not 100 % sure

  • thanks for the review!! ive been using a lots of foundations! all of them turn orange 3h later!! i start using estee lauder and omg is freaking amazing.. but i might give a try to this one.. im a yellow undertone hope it suits me! =)

  • Hi Lisa, I have pink/pale skin and recently ordered Sunlove self tanner. I watched your review and thought I should give it a try. But, I plan on trying to get a dark shade of tan from it. Do you think that Shiseido foundation would be good when I get my tan? Thank you so much!! And I love your reviews!

  • I think the Sheseido is amazing for any color skintone! :o) Enjoy them both!

  • I'm so happy you reviewed this. I absolutely love Shiseido face products (tinted moisturizer especially) so I will give this a try!

  • Hi Lisa, I just want to say thank you for recommending this awesome foundation! I went out and purchased this product a week ago, and so far I'm loving everything about it! Thanks again!

  • Haha, this is so funny.......... Okay, I will not be wrong at this one: Shiseido = SHE-SAY-DO........ I hear it from TV commercials in HK

  • Do you know what the undertones are for this foundation?? I have pink undertones and am pretty light skin toned, and based on your review, im REALLY hoping this comes in a pink undertone.

  • I find that they are more of a yellow undertone, but I wear NW in MAC and it works wonderful for me! Ask for a sample and see how it works first!

  • @haleighewoolsey Hi, shades 40 and 50 are pink! I think 40 would suit you ;)

  • Have you used this with the Korres face primer? Also, what are you using to highlight under your eyebrows?? So beautiful

  • No i have not- I used up my Korres face primer before I began using this. My highlight was naked lunch by mac- I put what i am wearing in the sidebar if you are ever wondering! :o)

  • I really enjoy your review. Can you compare the coverage to estee lauder's double wear? Btw do you have a before and after pic? Your skin is soooo flawless but you probably have perfect skin to begin with.

  • yes it is important to wear sunscreen on your face year round! I love this now that it is winter also! :o)

  • sory wrong response! I actually dont own EL Double wear to compare it-sorry! No one has flawless skin! :o)

  • Hey i have a question im interested in sun protection all year do you think it would be good to get it and use it all year long ?

  • yes it is important to wear sunscreen on your face tear round! I love it for the winter also! :o)

  • Hi, I am definitely going to look at this product - we are coming into our hot weather in Australia. Thank you so much for your review and tips. O:)

  • Has anyone tried it with oily skin? My TZone gets really oily. Just wondering how it'll react to it. I'm still going to go and ask for a sample.

  • I have combo skin and it works greta on my oily areas too! :o) If I need extra oil control I put some Murad oil control lotion on the area first!

  • I finally bought a bottle of this foundation last week. I tired it yesterday using Shiseido makeup base also. The foundation gave the soft matte look. Really good and also long-lasting. But it may be a bit dry on my skin in winter. I think in winter a better way to use it is to use a moisturizing primer. I'll try it with Lancome moist base. Thanks again for recommending this foundation : ) You know what, I also recommended it to a colleague.

  • Hi Lisa!

You look so pretty in this video!

Would you suggest this foundation for a winter foundation? and based on your review here it sounds worth trying.

Is the Murad your using a primer?

Thanks for telling me about the Pink Sugar purfume, It will make good stocking stuffers

    Thanks

    Lori

  • aww thanks- yes this is a great winter foundation as well! :o) I do use Murad as my primer- I love it! I am so glad you like the Pink Sugar also! Enjoy! :o)

  • I ordered this from ebay not having a clue what shade to get..took a chance on sp30..it looked ok online..it is so white on my skin, so I have not been able to use it yet. I was thinking maybe ordering the darkest shade and mixing..what do you think..I'm dying to try it.

  • That might work, btu you are probably better off getting the right color. The 70 is like a 35 in MAC. Good Luck!

  • Hi

    Could U choose which 1 the best 4 U :

    Shiseido Sun Protection Liquid Founadtion

    OR

    Estee Lauder Max Coverage

    OR

    Giorgeo Armani

    Thanks =)

  • The Sheseido is my fav for foundation and the EL for concelaer! :o)

  • With a wet sponge goes on even more flawless, perfect for day time, I´m so in love with this half dream half foundation, my HG!

  • Shade 40 it´s like NC25, at least for me ;)

  • Hey Lisa...i had to return this...was to light for me ...not very many colors to select from...esp if you are med/dk skin...so I went a chose another one from Sheseido ,for dry skin and I must say great...my husband gave me a complement and thats rare...so thanks for introducing to this line.. =)

  • just picked this up today at nordstorms...looking forward to trying it.. =).. thanks!!!

  • damn it! i was gonna ask u is this work for dry/sensitive skin but i scroll down n found wat said......;( im sad coz im lookin for a new foundation

  • I would give it a go morlaos get a sample you may be suprised , I have dry sensitive skin and have no problems with this product , It feel amazing on my skin and stay looking great all day cant recommend this highly enough! I apply this with my finger Just Like lisa does , fab fab fab product !!! it my HD foundation :~)

  • my grandma had the powder version of this line, and i would always use it when i went to her house. made my face look AMAZING! great coverage and long wearing.

esp. since i live in hawaii, we're always in the sun or water! thinking about purchasing this or the powder.. hmm..

  • spongeyyy :) this is the first video i watched by u, and i love how ur all happy =D

  • i live in Australia and its so hot here, so the SPF really comes in handy!

Thanks for the great review :)

  • Is this good for sensitive/ acne prone skin? And does this foundation look good with the mac 187 brush?

  • I think it is gerat for any skin except for dry skin! I do not like it with the 187 brush at all- it works best with a sponge! :o)

  • Does it work well with a face primer? If so,what primers do you suggest?

  • yes I tried it with my MAC PP50, the Murad oil control and UD Primer potion! :o)

  • Hi Lisa! I am so excited about trying this foundation. I'm going to have my first chemical peel done pretty soon & I've been told that I must wear a very high SPF after chemical peels as skin becomes very photo sensitive. This is a must have for the great SPF & I love matte finish foundations as my skin tends to get oily. My only worry now is that it will make me break out with my combo oily skin..any suggestions?

  • yay! You will love it! :o) I think this foundation will be fine with your skin but the only way to be sure is to give it a try! :o)

  • How much was it? I guess I could look it up lol

    great review

  • Thank you Lisa, i also bought it and i love it!!!

In Germany we can get it only with SPF 30.

  • I just wanted to say THANK YOU! I'm in japan right now for holiday, and I forgot to bring sunblock with me. Searching online for a good sunblock try, I stumbled across this review. I climbed up mt fuji yesterday, and it was amazing! The foundation stayed on ALL day through the rain, sweat, and heat of the sun at the top. I can't believe it. This is my HG foundation!!

  • $30 something

  • I will Never, Ever, Ever, Ever, Ever be without this foundation. I will NEVER search for another foundation for as long as I live. THIS IS IT!! I would have never known about this without your review so, Lisa, thank you very much for the "work" you do for us beauty junkies. I am budgeting myself and am regrettably going to be refraining from YouTube, but I am making an exception for your channel because you are just too good to give up!

  • yay! I am so glad that you love it too! I am glad you love my videos also! :o) Enjoy!

  • hi LASE96 i agree with you I live in the uk the spf is a 30 but apart from that it the same I use it with my prep & prime spf 50 and like yourself love love love love it and will never buy any other foundation this is it wow wow wow amazing and I am a foundation junkie I must buy 1 foundation a month but since using this product I have never tried any other foundation I am hocked big time how do you apply it I se my fingers works a treat !!! :~)

  • She-say-dough LOL :P

  • how much does it cost ?

  • I dont remember- it will vary by where you live!

  • Hi Lisa! I adore your video's, they're super informative. I always watch your new ones and everything, but realized that when you list in your description box that you never have this specific foundation on. I'm considering getting it, but do you only wear it some days? is it for a special outing type of foundation?

  • Most of those videos are pre taped. I put this one up before some that I had pre tapped because I was so excited about it! I wear it every day! :o)

  • hey lisa check out the channel of michelle phan on using the card to put your macarsa on and it is amazing. get back to me when you check it out on u tube channel. and it is funny too but it really works like magic.

  • Sold!

  • damn!i so much wanna try this product! the only dread is that i got very dry due to shesido suncreen, but still, coz you said it..i will givce it a shot!

  • Hey Lisa!! have u ever tried any other Shiseido foundations? if so how do they compare with this one? thank u soo much for ur help and great videos!!! xoxoxo

  • This is the first one I have tried! :o)

  • hah you are so funny!

i wanna buy this now, very nice convincing! ;]

    thank youu

  • Lisa, you are my bad influence. I have just placed an order on this foundation:) Thanks for the review, can´t wait to try it.

  • Wow, you said you would trade in all your other foundations except the GA - now that's a statement in and of itself.

I am mineral foundation kind of person, but I am ever in the market for a liquid foundation, I will definitely keep this foundation in mind. Quick question, do they have colors of this foundation for women of color?

Thank you, as always, for the review. Blessings.

  • I think the color 7 is comparable to a NW or NC 40 skintone- so that is the darkest they have. :o(

  • do you think this foundation would need a primer under it to help it last longer? or is the lasting power already phenomenal on its own?

  • It is great on its own, but I really like the Murad with it! :o)

  • you look,stunning!!

  • you look so beautiful in this video i love your makeup!!!!.....

  • Where did you get it? Sephora does not sell it!

  • I bought mine at macy's at the counter. I could not find this one at Sephora either! :o(

  • I had to laugh at this video and at another foundatiion video you made. In this one when you said " YES I know my hands are a different ...don't tell me that either"...LOL

In the other video you said" Hi My name is Lisa and I am addicted to foundation"...LOL

Thx For The Great Video's & Laughs

    Kim

  • OMG..im so glad i found you....i need to get ittt..!!!!

  • You look great in this video!

  • haha so u love this right? xD

i have tried the stick version of this and i love that one.

only downside is that the color range is not wide, but luckily ochre is perfect for me. i can't wait to try this liquid one :)

    (p.s. i know you don't care but it's "shis - say- doe" ;D )

  • lisa you looks so gorgeous!!! your outfit and earrings and makeup and everything looks beautiful today = )

  • hi Lisa :) you mention that you got the shade SP70? because I am NC40 in mac and i was going to get that shade, but I know you are a lighter shade on mac.
