  • @hitboy641 Thanks man a reel miracles like u say. n in only 1 day:) respect fo the comment!!

  • I hate when guys look sloppy with ties my cousin when he wears a tie it is a bad knot hangs about to his second button and he doesn't collar the collar button or the buttons that keep the collar down and neat. It is embarrassing

  • @ackafooo You're absolutely right. Embarrassing is the word. It's like wearing your trousers around your knees, with the flies undone! Thanks for the comment.

  • thanks to you i look like a man when i wear a tie!!

  • Reply to LovingRock100: Thank you for this very encouraging comment. It strikes a chord with me, in this age of sloppy ties, usually halfway down the shirt, with the collar unbuttoned in a pityful attempt to look 'cool'. Had you thought of going a step further and trying a bow tie?!

  • @Offshoreorganbuilder no but i should go out and buy one then! haha

  • First of all that's a fabulous looking tie. Second, beautiful job on the video once again and I learned something new. It's brilliant how you tucked the back end into your shirt, and how you centered a particular color!! Absolutely amazing!!!

  • Reply to libbyrock123: Many thanks for your enthusiastic comments. I am laying in that stock of signed photographs right now!

  • Really thank u......

  • Reply to 2dpn: Your comment is short, and to the point, and says it all. Many thanks.

  • this is the first tie tying video that actually got me in a proper tie, thanks for the clear instructions

  • Reply to omgpuppies0707: Thank you for your comment - for some reason, this video (on tying the ordinary necktie) does not do nearly so well as my other video (on tying a bow tie - now on 67,000 + views) so I am glad of any comments, to let me know what people think. As you must have found, tying a tie is easy. You just need to know how. And in a world populated by scruff-bags, with no ties, or (worse) half-tied ones, why not stand out from the crowd with one that is correctly tied?!

  • This video is awesome! I have never seen such step-by-step instructions and tips in any such videos. you are a gentlemen's gentleman indeed! Thank you!

  • Reply to benedictxx: I'm glad you found the video helpful. As you say, there is quite a lot to be known about even something as simple as tying a tie. Thanks for the comment.

  • this video is awesome! ive been tying ties for quite sometime but ive neva been able to get them the way that i wanted. this video helped me out tremedously!

  • Reply to OHBABY06: I'm glad you liked the video. I tried to put in all the details which anyone would want to not only tie a tie, but to really TIE a tie!Now you will be able to get your tie just as you want it, and no need to have it looking like so many of the half-tied, scruffy attempts we so often see today. Thanks for taking the trouble to comment. (p.s. I see you viewed and liked my, 'How to tie a bow tie - Fully Explained' so now you should be able to amaze your friends with THAT one!)

  • In response, that knot is what is known as a Half-Windsor. There are several ways to tie the half Windsor, but the all involve a single wrap around one of the two posts, followed by the wrap across the front, and then the final tuck. The way things differ between the different methods is in which post you wrap the long end around and which direction you pull the long end after the wrap (parallel with the short end or opposite the short end). But they all form what is known as the half Winds

  • @Liam1694u Thanks for the information.

  • Nice video. Since there are many different ways to tie a tie, you should consider adding the type of knot in the description or the video. Looks to me like your tying a half windsor. I've alway been partial the (full) Windsor myself. Though I do use the know you show for some of my thicker ties.

Definitely a well laid out instructional video. Good work.

  • Reply to Liam1694u:It would be an extra piece of information,to know just what this knot is called. actually, I've never thought about it,and would be interested to know, myself.Having found that this method results in a controlable, predictable, symetrical knot,I am content to stay with it.I understand that there is a huge number of different ways to tie a tie, most of them of little practical use but if anyone can definitely state the name of this particular knot, please do.Thanks for the comment.

  • Very interesting and useful video.

  • Reply to @hashmats: Thanks for the comment. Good to know it helped.

  • Honestly, I viewed 15 different videos about tying a tie and I absolutely recommend this one. The explanations for each step as we go along help to master the art of tie tying. If I could tip you for the help I would. Again, I appreciate your help sir, and thanks.

  • Reply to sjs2317: Thank you for your enthusiastic comment. I am very pleased that you found the video so helpful. I appreciate the thought of a tip, but, to quote Sherlock Holmes, "The work is its own reward"! Best wishes - the Offshore Organ-Builder.

  • Comment from Crocochatte:

Re: Bow tie tying: Dear Sir, After learning how to tie a bow tie from you, I watched your other video "How to tie a tie - fully explained". It's also splendid, even though I know how to tie a regular tie perfectly well since my early teens. (thanks to my uncle)

Both of your videos must be in every gentlemen's library. I recommended them to my friends and coworkers, Great job, Thank you kindly Crocoshatte

  • thank you, very detailed!!!

  • Reply to: @zaneNben: I'm glad you found the posting useful. Thanks for taking the trouble to comment.

  • From TGROVE09: thanks yours helped me with great ease. thanks for the tip!

  • Reply to rodneyjantzi: Thanks for the comment, and I'm glad you found it helpful. Now are you tempted to try the bow tie?! (See, "How to tie a bow tie - fully explained."

  • Very well explained, I officially have a new way of tying my necktie. Thanks!

  • StanOfGB Thanks, I finally got it!

  • thanks...wish you included how to create a dimple in the tie.

    Cheers

  • Thanks for your comment on my video, 'How to tie a tie - fully explained.' You wondered why I did not deal with how to make a 'dimple' just below the knot. In fact, | see this as a defect - a crease - hence my advice on the use of the thumbs to remove any folds below the knot if possible. I would see the 'dimple' in the same light as the clip-on bow tie, or wearing a tie pulled down below the collar with the top button of the shirt undone - simply 'not on!' I guess it's a cultural difference

  • The very best video on this subject that I have ever seen (and I've seen them all, believe me.) BRILLIANT!

  • helped a lot man thank you next will have to be the ow tie im starting to master it:)

im looking pretty damn snazy to everything i go to:)

    thanks a lot man!

  • maburaho26 (1 day ago) I thought that the fully explained video was a bit more informational than the one you posted here but both are good nontheless. Thank you very much for your video. I tied my tie just in time for Prom.
