@Whyyoulooking123 I watched it today, and it is actually scary, I personally think it should be a 15, there's bits in it that make you jump, and make your heart race, it's tense at parts, and it's a really dark kind of film with lots of scary stuff in it, it is a ghost story and is defonertly scarier than you'd think! :)

And before you all give my comment a big thumbs down, go and see the London stage play, if you think this film is good, and you will see what I am coming from. The corpse-pulling out of the marsh scene (ridiculous) and the resulting chocolate-covered urchin had the audience tittering and the scores of dead children glaring out of the screen at you every few minutes spoilt the scary effect. There's a fine line between scary and laughable and this film went over it.

This production is daft compared to the actual book by Susan Hill and the long-running London stage play which is faithful to the book. If you haven't read the book or seen the play I suppose you might think it's good in a 'The Others' or a 'The Hills Have Eyes' kind of way. By changing some key details and adding in other far-fetched details, whoever did the screenwriting (Jane Goldman) ripped the guts out of this charming 'less is more' ghost story and turned it into a vulgar Hammer House job
