I have talked to some ppl on tgo, they say they have had their t5 behind a 400hp 350 for 8 years..... But!!! They are older and do not drive it crazy all the time, they said avoid hard shifts on stock shifter (hence the pro 5.0) and drive it smart.
No! I'm saying it will handle it for a little while, as long as it's not on it's last leg. I have some friends running a mid 12 third gen with a t5 and another with a mustang who has a camaro t5 running 11 sec range. I'm not trusting mine to that much, but with a pro 5.0 shifter and easy driving... It will hold ok. Just don't beat it.
No not all camaros came with a wc-t5, but all 91-92 camaros did, which is what's in this video... They can handle the abuse of 300-320 torque, but everyday driving won't hurt it. Just racing, hard launches, and carelessness shifting.

I'm doing the same swap in a month, 350 vortec motor and my stock wc-t5.... Until I can upgrade to a t56. My tranny was rebuilt and has a clutch... It'll last for a while behind a 350. But I don't abuse my car either.

You can pull that motor and replace it with a 350 and still run the 5 speed. As long as the tranny is not on it's last leg it will work fine, and as long as you don't beat on it constantly. The T-5 is obviously not powerful enough to handle a 350, it has been proven time and time again that the power rating is not enough for a 350.

And I can tell for a fact this is not the stock engine!, the 305 in this would of had centerbolt valve covers, it has bolts on the valve covers like the pre 87 blocks did. its an older block,and for sure why waste time putting a older 305 back in it.
for the people posting its a 305 not a 350... how could you tell from looking at it? yeah they came witha 305 from the factory but how do you know for sure there wasnt a motor swap???
@kasjere2 I hear you, I too have a 91 project I'm working on, it was a 305, yanked that puppy out and dropped a 350 in its place, reused everything that the 305 had running on it, even the same computer, its TBI, but it now has a higher RPM then it did and check engine light now comes on. I have a few small things to work out, after all the hard work, it runs. most would tell me same shit. but they don't know. they would say it won't work with that computer, but it does

@TheSavage493 3rd gens never had a manual tranny behind the 350... The only one was the 1992 heritage camaro, which was only a prototype and had a lt1 and t56 tranny. Both which were used in the 1993 4th gen car.
@TheSavage493 No the 25th anniversary heritage addition in 1992 never came with a Borg-Warner t-5 stock. Also if it is a stock RS it is NOT a 350 5 speed most likely a 305 tpi with a t-5
@ViVidRACINGms you're right, which leads me to believe it's got aftermarket transmission though it appears stock. I checked the VIN number (8 in the 8th digit) and the emissions sticker, both say it's a 5.7L and it's definitely manual but I did look at the shifter and it's a hurst so I'm thinking somebody put in a lot of money to make it a 5 speed.

Hello how are you? Fantasitc camaro I have a 91 rs. Do you work on cars? If so I have some problems with mine. When I start it sometimes it will not turn over and other times it will. Also when I am sitting at a trafic light or stop sign it will shake. This is my first car and I hope it will last me. The battery is an economy one not sure if thats the problem. If you could help or no anyone much appricated.
