Basically the two dance versions are shot as well as a load of other stuff, so they can be cut together to make the official version. People just like seeing them dance though...

I used to call them DBSK back in high school, since when they first started out their name wasn't stylized as their Chinese name. When I talk to high school friends I still refer to them as DBSK. I'm actually not sure when their name changed from 동방신기 to TVXQ, but it was a few years back.

東方神起 = Tong Vfang Xien Qi = TVXQ (chinese/hanja/kanji)

동방신기 = Dong Bang Shin Ki = DBSK (korean)
