U don't get much better acting than Tom Cruise. Seen an Interview with Bon Jovi last night and they asked him what he thought about Tom Cruise playing him. He said, Tom Cruise playing me, I will take it anyday, The guy is a genious!
Actually he has pretty good sounding voice when he speaks and pretty wide range when he yells in the movies He can go pretty high and if he manages to turn that into singing the movie will be perfect as he is an perfect actor. I've seen the vid whre he sings Old Times R N R and that was pretty good. And bout that age thing come on people he mght be under 50 but he looks like under 25, his body is in perfect shape and his skin looks good 2. He is my #1 actor and if he sings 2 he'll be my #1 singe

The role is a past-his-prime rocker making a comeback. The age could work. But I would have loved to see MiG Ayesa, who plays the role first in the touring company and now on Broadway. He is a great combination of talent and has the sardonic wit to camp it up and make it fun.
Cruise, you are pushing 50, it's time to accept the fact that you are no longer the cute little guy wanted by all the girls. Let someone younger play this role, and save yourself hours and hours of singing and dancing lessons (without counting the special effects that will be added in the recording room to enhance your voice). Now go jump on Oprah's couch to remember the old days!
Cruise doesn't belong in a great movie like that. Why don't they put Constatine in the role that HE made famous????? UGH, once again putting leading actors in singing roles that don't belong there. What a slap in the face to those GREAT Broadway stars!!! I would rather spend all my money to get to NY to see Constatine then to see that movie for free. Bleah

@GoddessOfWhim2003 Stacey Jaxx is not really the lead, the guy that Constantine plays is the lead. I can't remember his name. I wasn't really jazzed about TC as Stacey, but I've seen the recent pictures and since Stacey is supposed to be kind of a washed up leader of a Hair Band, it kind of works. I remember all the hoopla about TC playing Lestat and how not even Rice wanted him. He proved he could do it so we may be pleasantly surprised. I've seen the show and it was awesome, He would work.
