  • I'm going to travel back in time and provide people with our gaming technology so we'll have some high-end-future-thing's and shit

  • nvidia is SHIT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Ram256PL Really dude? There always has to be jackasses like you, huh?

Look, the graphic card companies (The two I can think of now, Nvidia and radeon) Are all good. They each play off their own strengths, and they both have weaknesses (if you haven't found them, it's cause you don't do EVERY PHYSICAL THING possible for your computer)

Such as for me, Nvidia works damn great with my games.

If your Nvidia is/was bad, it's cause it it/was DAMN OLD.

  • @ZillasElite nvidia is shit because they have higher prices than radeon and its unfair that physx works only with nvidia cards. Also most games works better on nvidia cards because they pay HUGE money to developers to make the new games work on nvidia cards better.

  • @Ram256PL well, prices aren't that bad if you can find where to buy them.

Physx was bought off by Nvidia, If radeon had been quicker they could have owned it themselves...but they didn't. so incompetence by radeon.

Making games work better on their cards is just good marketing, making radeon just idiots for not thinking of it themselves.

Your reasons aren't to good. (I will give you the price thing, but I got a fairly decent graphics card for 100bucks. Ranked about 20 on a benchmark test)

  • I don't see how this is a Particle System because all I can see is Physics involved!

  • hehe i remember my 1,1ghz intel celeron, 128 mb ram and 8 mb 3d graphic accelerator. it fuckin sucked. everybody was screaming "omg 256mb graphics card!!!111 sheet"

  • i upgraded my crappy nvidia geforce 220 with a millennium 5mb

  • aha, it looks like to me like some physx test :] (yes, I know its not)

  • i wonder what would happen if i travel back 20 years and show them my mobile phone...i think they'd start to belive in god or whatever xD

  • @FizzyWodawg Can't wait :)

  • windows sucks balls

  • I'm telling you right now, Particle Capable Game Engines are the FUTURE of gaming.

  • Oh this is interesting. I had no idea that DirectX11 was an nVidia exclusive. Nice advert there NV, but you'll have to try harder.

  • /nerdgasm

  • So awesome.

  • I remember gaming on a Timex Sinclair 1000 (ok not really gaming, but it was more fun then Pong :P)

Graphics have come along way. I just hope I live long enough to see the youtube video of when "Atoms" are being modeled! ;-)

  • @Danbo342 And next, full scale detailed atom bomb explosion :D How epic would that be??

  • @SnowboardPolice very Epic

  • man you guys are arguing about Direct x like its 2012 end of the world type stuff

  • i know the end of the world is a fraud mayans were idiots

  • well i'd wonder how people so good at predicting the end of the world.

Couldn't predict there own demise from Conquistadors a short while later.

  • @loganmonster1996 they never predict the end of the world, rather the end of a cycle, a galacic equinox, as we're going to pass galactic equator in 2012... It's only the internet fearmonger that created this hoax...

  • @loganmonster1996 Lol good one XDDD

  • i thought just the ati gpu´s are able to work with directx 11^^

  • Nvidia4Life... Ati Gpus aren't so Bad, some are very powerful ;-)

  • You know, these types of DX11 demos don't impress me too much, but it's when you combine types of effects and environments with music and everything that it becomes totally awesome.

  • Not fake because DX 10 cards are compatible with DX 11, dipshit.

  • thats just bullshit

  • @ Sticksquash.

Are you kidding?... DX10 Cards are NOT compatible with DX 11. However cards with DX 10.1 AND Shader Model 4.1 can use the BASIC features of DX 11. (Which is only ATI cards atm).

Nvidia won't be able to utilize ANY of the DX 11 features untill their new cards arrive.

  • @mikkelmandpwn Every DX10 card can use the basic features of DX11.

  • @Maxaker67

    Nope, you're mixing things up.

DX10+SM4.0 cards (Nvidia) can use ONE DX11 feature - OpenCL.

DX10.1+SM4.1 (ATI Mostly, afew Low-end Nvidia) can use the BASIC DX11 Features (OpenCL, Tesselation (ATI, Officially it doesn't work - But I have diffrent experiences), and afew others.)

DX11+SM5.0 (ATI Only) can use ALL the DX11 Features.

  • Exactly ! Its like to say " Oh cards with dx9 can run dx10"

    answer.. nope.

    greetz

  • really? did u research that yourself cuz ur 100% wrong stupid

  • No because Direct X11 works on DirectX 10 cards, but it's software rendered. Dipshit.

  • your a retard sticksquash. no dx10 card can have dx11, even if it is simulated through software. the cards aren't powerful enough to do this, so you fail

  • actually, he's partially right, DX10 cards CAN run dx11 games, but they won't have DX11 features. (unlike directX 9 and 10 which weren't compatible with each other)

  • @sticksquash Yeah certain effects but not all.

  • Comment removed

  • When GT300 series graphic card comes out... No matter how good are these. they are still overpriced.

  • Well I'm in Thailand. If something gets released elseware, I'm usually stuck waiting for 6 months before I can get my own hands on it, so I've got time :-P.

Don't quite have the money though. Even if it were possible to buy an overpriced-due-to-lack-of-stock DX11 cards, I wouldn't have the cash for it, not now anyway.

  • ahh cheers ;)

  • i thought hd 5870 had it ? :o

  • The ATI 5870 does have it

  • This means with DirectCompute, Physx is now dead.

  • Finally.

  • Oh ok... thanks for the idea

  • nvidia doesnt yet has DX11

  • shutup u retard

  • Hmmm GT 300 has directx11

    But GXT 295 has DX10

why u said im retard? why?

im sure GTX 295 has Directx10 not 11

    this is true

  • lol..

  • Is that real-time?

If so, how the hell could they structure those particle interactions so that were efficient? Cause that's a shit load of collision detection and vector maths...

    /*head explodes*/

  • some games already use this, and it runs fine..

  • lol i remember when everybody had 256mb of ram and some high end 512 but i bougtt 1gb of ram and it was like HOLYCRAP yull never need that ram is just too much for now games....now that ram is shit to run hardcore games at decent fps....yull need 4 or more...and now we say why 16gb yu wont need that lolzz

  • true dude :D i remember when i had my first computer i was so happy

  • to be honest most games today can live with 2gb. So its not to bad.

  • that wat my dad told me, WHY DO U NEED 6GB OF RAM, WHY DO U NEED 8GB, WHY DO U NEED 24, WHY DO U NEED 5TB, WHY DO U NEED SSD, WHY DO U NEED 2000W, WHY DO U NEED FULL TOWER, WHY DO U NEED DOUBLE PROCESSOR

  • @killersboss in 5 years everybody's gona be like: eeuuu dude, you still got only 1 TB of RAM? No wonder you can't run any games!

  • @killersboss I had a PC with 384 RAM few years back, everyone said WOW that's a monster, but now what will they say? :D

  • @nuwaus they will say: oh i got almost the same mobilephone xD

  • @killersboss I have 4 GB ;) Before i had 512 Mb and when I first got it my friends were like WTF !? This video reminds me of fact technology is really growing fast and in future i will ned alot more ram.

  • @killersboss Hell ya man....I got my very first gaming PC with 32MB nVidia Riva TNT 2 , 128MB RAM and Pentium III 700MHz Processor. This was in 2001. by that time I was the one with bragging rights. I made my friends jaws dropped by mentioning my machine config.

  • @killersboss damn right:) thats why "next gen" consoels suck now

  • @killersboss I remember having a 4Mhz processor and 1536kb of ram, No graphics card (they didnt exist yet) no Hard drive (they were 3,500$ for 10MB HDD) and some 5.25" floppy disks

awww yea only took 1 diskette to boot DOS, 2 to boot windows 3.1 and another 4 to boot my favorite game. AV-8B Harrier attack

  • @killersboss I do, hahaha.

  • @killersboss I remember having a massive 20MB harddrive being a huge relief and wondered how on earth I got along loading my os from a 720K 5,25 floppy, now I have 16GB and 8TB storage ram and it really does come in handy for certain programs.

There is a far larger problem hiding here, developers giving a rat's ass about how optimised or large their code is cause there is enough space and cpu to go around, back in the day nifty coders used procedural code and content to do miracles.

  • @killersboss Well actually you don't...and probably won't for awhile.

What's far more in, is cpu and gpu. those with their built in ram(gpu) can run things far more efficiently.

What will most likely become far more popular is SLI. connecting more then 1 or more graphics card together.

(although currently those still come with their own kinks at time) but it can run programs and games FAAAR more efficiently that silly ram. (me personally though...I lack cpu power, a small problem for now)

  • this effect is gotta eat my RAM, though I got 4 gigs, not sure if Ill handle this

  • No, this will. Start Far Cry 2 at DX9 and this will lag. Start with DX10 - there is no lags. Great performance. I think DX11 will be better than 10

  • Mixed experiences with DirectX 10.

A lot of people, in the beginning, got crap performance with DirectX 10 vs. DirectX 9. As time passed, the API was refined, and drivers refined, DirectX 10 emerged on top.

Some people still report mixed findings though. Unlucky, those ones...

  • Yeah, humanity so far from ideal...So impatient and suspicious...

  • Nope.

It's using DirectX 11's Compute Shader, with the memory in use being graphics memory, so your 4GB of RAM won't suffer, neither will mine (I still need more RAM for other stuff though).

I know this since passing results from a shader to regular RAM is very inefficient, and it would be stupid to do so, it's obviously contained solely on the GPU.

  • Ati is ahead in producing now video cards when they launched the ati4870x2 was the holy omg wtf video card that pwned all but when nvidia came with their new omfg wtf holy crap video card 295 things are another story....tough xpect ati to bring first the dx11 or nvidia but ati will win at the beginning and nvidia at the end or long run....i had ati and nvidia both are great i mean just 2 or 5 fps difference wdf who cares lol...

  • Well, the current rumours, so far, are that NVIDIA's GT300 chip easily outperforms what ATI have going.

Additionally, out of three wafers, only seven of these GT300 chips were valid.

Those're the rumours anyway, but one thing's for sure, ATI are definitely gonna' win the race to DirectX 11 dominance.

Still though, NVIDIA might be holding back on something, even though it's not like them to do so if they're sitting on a gold mine.

    Only time will tell...

  • Now, rumours have changed, GT300 series will not HD 5000 series, possibly HD 4870/90. Because GT300 graphic card are going to be primarily used for super computing, not gaming. So, Nvidia are losing support on gamers.

  • Well, I haven't really heard that much. As far as anyone knows GF100 (not GT300 anymore) is still gonna' be epic, and the release will be in January, using A3 silicon.

Performance is still unknown in games, though.

    May the waiting begin...

...Even though we've been waiting for a really long time already...

  • Don't wait, buy a HD 5850 or HD 5870. And save money.

  • GT300 series will not *pwn* HD 5000 series.

  • OK "RALPH" why are you watching this vid you fucking retard hmmm graphic technology well you must know about else wise you wouldn't be here

  • Uhh ya I am 100% sure. Go look it up

  • i dont see the point in arguing over which graphic card combination is better. The whole point of technology is to get cheaper and better as time goes by, and in my opinion what ever card can fullfill this for the price is the card I'll buy. I had a 8800gt, which i got for $65!! But now I have a 4890 which I got for $160! no fanboy-ism, just reason and logic towards what is really better.

  • lol well nerds like to argue over graphic technology cause alot of them have their parents buy them their stuff so theyre not worried about price, or they spend all their money on computer parts.

  • agree

  • also these little kids without jobs can only get what their parents by them, and to back up their little self esteem they try to convince themselves and others what they bought is the best. It's exactly the same for console wars, the parents only get them 1 console for christmas so they try to back up that 1 console cause its the only thing they have.

  • Are you kidding me, I'm a kid and I just bought my new computer myself, I had to get a job and work for it. YES, there are some spoiled kids, but you have to remember, there are immature ones too. ;)

  • why didn't you build it

  • LOL you geeks need to get off Youtube and start focusing on Real World problems- Such as making the money to buy the fucking 400+ dollar cards in the first place.

Clearly the winner is the company that makes the most money- And the most money comes from lower to middle end markets, not the effing Goliath end that most working people can't afford anyways.

  • Protip: For 'us geeks', earning $400 is not a problem

  • Mayne, in my country, Romania, 400 bucks is a decent to good salary, you can have a good life, problem is, when you wan't to buy something made outside the country, it's hard to buy, like this graphics cards that doesn't make money, just spend money :(.

  • then nigga u better move from romania so u can buy all them shits lol

  • Dude, I am born here, how can I left my country? Besides, I seen many countries, this one I like, it's nature in many parts it's still wild.

    PS. I am white.

  • then you should start saving up and start a computer business over there.

buy 1 for a low price and sell it a little marked up

and repeat until u have enough to buy 10 and sell em at a marked up price

  • Interesting, i have a 9500gt. If you're saying it as in "dont buy it, its not good" you mean it has low performance, BUT keep in mind its a cheap budget card, so the value/price is still good. It isnt overpriced or anything, its just a cheap low-end card. 9400/9500gt's are mostly used in home theater pc's or as dedicated physX card's anyway.

  • fuck this site. This site is sponsored by nvidia.

  • How is that a bad thing?

  • They troll for Nvidia, and Their GPU benchmarks are all fake.Get your numbers from anandtech or driverheaven.

PCGH, Hardwarecanucks, Bjorn3D, Neoseeker Maxishine, Trubritard.... and a lot of other sites are sponsored by Nvidia.

Those cheap sites have one purpose: promote Nvidia graphics cards using fake reviews and fabricated benchmarks.

    Beware of Nvidia's marketing tools.

  • Its funny how you claim nvidia uses false advertising. In fact, ati are the guys doing false advertising and making unfair comparisons. There is a video where they compare a gtx280 to a 4870x2 (x2 for dual gpu); they compare a DUAL gpu card to a SINGLE gpu card. And in another video, they claim the 4550 outperforms the 9400gt, but its really the other way around.

  • Nope, they compared two graphics cards in the same price segment.the 4550 is faster than the 9400gt ak 8400gt everywhere.

It's not false advertising it's called fabricating reviews...

I mean wtf, Nvidia doesn';t even have a DX11 hardware yet. where the fuck from did those PCGshit get this vid from.....

While ATI/AMd demonstrated a working DX11 graphics card just over a month ago in Taipei at computex.

    Get your facts right son.

  • First off, I am not your son. You are not my father.

Second, its funny how people always say "get your facts right" when its THEY who are blinded by fanboyism, and crying out opinions, not facts.

The 4550 is almost double the price of a 9400gt in Norway. And if you think 9400gt=8400gt, you're wrong, bigtime. A 9400gt has slightly higher performance than an 8500gt, and almost as an 8600gt.

i have to continue this in my next comment.

  • Continued:

When it comes to dx11, it's in development, but it isnt out yet, so you cant say nvidia hasnt got it and ati already has. Ati has the bullshit they call dx10.1, but the only difference it makes is that framerates on dx10.1 compatible games (only 6 in existence lol) go a tiny bit higher, but the graphics look the same. Nvidia has PhysX, Cuda, purevideoHD, you name it. Nvidia's features shit all over ati's directx 10.1.

    "Get your facts right, father."

  • It's called physx acceleration son. It's accelerating the physx effects processing using the graphics card.

What Nvidia has is an extended programming interface with compatible shader compilers to translate the code of the physx engine to the shader 4.0 code so that the graphics card can recognize it, and handle it.

As for the DX11 APi, it's extremely useful due to the many accelerating algorithms it contains compared to DX10.

  • Once again, I am NOT your son. GHAWD.

When it comes to PhysX, no SHIT?! I know it is used for physics, you dont need to tell me the obvious. As for dx11, it isn't out yet. It's far from being released yet.

  • DX11 has been out for a while now. We just don't have the cards yet. Go look it up, all windows 7 machines come with DX11.

  • the cards that are out now can use it(the 300/5000 series will yust be a bit more optimised for it

also if im not mistaken windows 7 only has the text saying it has dx11. not the actual program

  • ALSO, you said nvidia doesn't have dx11, look at the start of the video. What logo can that be? hm?

  • It is you who should look at the video and wonder how in hell is that possible.........!!!!!

  • Why should i wonder why that is possible? You're not making any sense at all. ANyway, as i SAID, i am DONE with you. so shut up, and get off youtube.

  • Like the AA enhancement that allows the shaders to simulate the added pixels in groups of 64 and apply them directly to the frame before writing them onto the frame buffer, 64bit texture compression, many lightning effects accelerating techniques, Tessellation which is a geometry accelerating technique that enables the grahics card to process up to 3 times the polygons using the same amount of processing power "in giga Flops" compared to DX10..........and many more features.....

  • Dude, shut up. Both nvidia and ati have dx11 in development, so in that way they are even. Nvidia has way better graphics cards with more and better features. gtx295 > 4870x2.

You can take your gigaflops home to all your ati fanboy friends, for all i care. Im done with you.

  • that's right.but you're yet to wonder what What has particle stimulation to do with DX11...???

These are some dynamics effects and have nothing to do with the graphics API, DX11....

And telling people to shut up is a sign of not only weakness, but also emptiness...

the 4870x2 beast the gtx295 in a handful of games....not including the DX11 ones like: stalker CS, HAWX, Empire total war, Battle Forge, Call of Juarez B I B..............

    BTW, check a guy called helldrell666 .

  • Dude, nvidia beats ati, get over it and stop your whining. Im sick of dealing with 8 year old ati fankids who sit there watching ati's false adverts on youtube all day. The 4870x2 is inferior to the gtx295.

  • Well duh, there is a 6 month release difference between them.

  • 2 4890's > GTX295 :P

  • Yeah, obviously, but the prices are also: 2 4890s > GTX295.

  • two 4890's = 366euro

    two GTX295'S = 430euro

    :P

  • yeah, and one gtx295 beats one 4890 by a huge margin, and the price isnt much higher.

  • Thats because the 4890 is a

single GPU card,I think you know that.If there was a 4890X2,ATi would have the best graphics card and it would be cheaper than the GTX295. :P

  • Not really, since a dual gpu card; for example: the 4870x2 is almost twice the price of the single gpu 4870. So a theoretical 4890x2 will cost more than a gtx295.

  • Well, the price of the 4870X2 today is quite cheap,so a 4890X2 would be about the same price as a GTX295 when released and it would be better.

  • The best SLI settup u can get is 3xGTX285, its roughly the same price as 2 gtx295's but more performance.

  • Have to agree there, go for 3 285's. The GTX 295 is way over priced. I rather get 2 ATI 4870 x2 and crossfire them which is be only slightly less powerful but will save you around $200

  • haha, ati, good one

  • LOL ati are a very good company, just tht NVIDIA just outclass ATI when it comes to top end cards. But nvidea's cards are also quite a bit more expensive at the best of times. so for more of a budget, yet still extremely powerful pc u would probably go with ATI for single card solutions :)

  • which ATI's though their HIS brand? Cause their HIS brands are very cheap.

  • Nearly all the ATI brands are cheaper but I believe XFX or HIS are cheapest for the 4870 x2. I know the XFX is around $300 on newegg.

  • ATI 4890 x4 Rulz :D

  • hey where u find a 2 GTX295 4 430 euro???

  • why not buy a 9500 GT?

  • cuz they suck. Get a 4670 or 4830

  • I'm building a budget PC and found a 9500gt for 50 bucks. =-X

  • And do NOT use it for SLI...

  • This will be interesting, OpenCL vs DX11's compute shaders.

  • I can honestly say that was the most unimpressive physics demo I have ever seen. A DirectX 7 program could easily have done the same thing.

  • *facepalm*

This is not an example of a physics engine, this shows how computational shaders could be used to accelerate physics simulation.

Now, don't post bullshit unless you know what you are talking about.

  • Explain.

  • Meh... in short this means that you can use the graphic card to process large quantities of data rather than using the cpu.

This could very well make things like physics simulation much more intense in future games which is always good :b?

  • ....NOT

  • looks just like some physx demo :O

  • Its about being a real gamer:)

  • Could be more impressive and where is DX11 hardware?

  • AMD showcased some.

  • uhh they're still making ps2s

and they're still making a lot of games for it

and people are still buying them

xbox and gamecube are discontinued and all those years you said were longer then "about 3-4"

  • lol console gamer much?

at least we can choose what to upgrade...

  • I hope it will be possible to do such stuff in real time in games, since it's not possible right now. Check crysis mass physics videos on youtube, that's what I'm talking about.

  • Don't need DX11 nor physx for this X( , processor is more than capable of doing it x)

  • Comment removed

  • nice physics .... this is not DirectX11

  • Isn't that just a PhysX demo?

  • Sieht irgendwie unrealistisch aus O.o

  • barely on the brink of 9?

And you dont knwo that 11 is bullshit.

why do you think that? lol. its obviously gona be better than any other DX, so...

And there is nothing wrong with progression.

  • But this ain't DirectX 11! My DirectX 9 can do it too in 3D max with particles!

  • That's not direct x doing particles. That's not using the realtime graphics api. You can do those particles on a dx 8 card as well.

  • Why thank you! But I don't need no corrections...I wrote like that because I just watched "How High"! And it aint possible to talk another way after watching it ^^

  • nice...nice.

  • You need a good graphics card to pull that of... Smooth like silk!

  • it's copyrighted by microsoft and confidential. this is just a demo of some developer software.

  • I'm surprised they haven't pulled this video. They are yanking a lot of the DX11 videos for some reason...
