@KingofHearts67 just to get things clear, i dislike rap too (i only like 2 guys because of the lyrics) but rap is as underrated as screaming in metal songs. it is NOT easy and its a technique you have to learn....you can clearly hear it when someone either can or cant rap. most of thse rap songs are bad and boring and metal still rules (i was in waken, mera luna and i will go on many concerts, in example the BG concert in october ^^) but real rap is not that easy as everyone thinks.

I understand that the founder of this band was once a member of Dragonforce, but I don't believe that justifies the consistent contradistinction of these two bands.

Dragonforce is harder, whereas this band focuses more on an old-time feel.

Aye, Steve Williams used to be in Dragonforce before Vadim as the keyboard player. Steve also asked Sam Totman for guitar help on Wings of Forever and Neverworld. And I agree that Dragonforce are more harder and Power Quest do feel like they are keeping to their true power metal roots :D

For the record, he likes power metal--he's got Symphony X and Hibria in his favourites (yes, Symphony X is power/prog but they still count). Power Quest is flower metal--don't get me wrong, though, I really like them. They're just very generic. My excuse is that everyone has a favourite generic PM band, so PQ is mine.

Also, don't be so quick to assume he listens to rap... Or for that matter, to assume that rap is even bad. Mainstream rap is a pretty bad representation of the genre.

No. 110% prog. Like DT their albums change style almost every time. They have variety and usualy dont do the same Chorus Chorus Solo Chorus and really fast drum beat routine.

I love the good half of Hibria, despise the other half, and could care less about the other borring ass bands you mentioned. Helloween and BG do nothing for me. Any good found in them can be found elsewhere and better.

Labrie is an okay vocalist but doesn't stand up to anything that Kai or Hansi have ever done. Kai wrote Walls of Jericho--if I need to elaborate then you're a lost cause. Andre from BG essentially plays one long solo--he's almost never just doing a plain riff. Not to say riffs are bad, of course, but it's pretty killer stuff.
