I never understood super high rates of fire... I play almost exclusively in semi-auto with a 9.6v battery on my classic army AK (full stock).

Added a 2x-7x scope and a vertical foregrip... it makes a fine designated marksman rifle. The tight bore barrel that came on mine is extremely consistent. The AK also has a ridiculously long barrel to boot, and possibly the easiest to use hop-up in existence.

No not a starter gun at all... trust me i've been airsofting for 5 years now and my first gun was the smith and wesson m3000 spring pump action shotgun and my first aeg was a crappy Firepower F4 Boys M4A1 assult rifle... it depends first how old are you? how long have you played? Also what are your preferances?

@Jakerzilla echo one in my opinion is one of the best companies out there. echo one has GREAT quality guns(they can easily stand up to classic army and tokio mairu) and come at an offordabe price. i just got my echo 1 red star wolverine ak47 for 240$ full metal real wood blowback. classic army would price tht at around 350-400$ and classic army is only a TINY TINY bit better. for your money, echo 1 is amazing. you get alot of bang for your buck

I just got the Game Face of the AK-M (modernized AK-47) which is what they sell at the Dick's here instead of Sportline and instantly fell in love with it. It's also classic army internals, and it had excellent range and accuracy out of the box.

When I started with airsoft, my first AEG was a Classic Army g36c, and even back then they were a really solid company. The AK47 I have now has better FPS, range, and accuracy. Also, because of the large 8.4v in the stock it gets a nasty rate of fire

The AK-74 is in fact an assault rifle. You think you know about guns because you play Call of Duty. The Kalashnikov model 74 fires a 5.45x39mm round. That's an intermediate rifle round.
