  • grunge before grunge existed.. and just like grunge they dont sound as good live ...

  • @brikcarv bullshit

  • I love Kevn Kinney. I remember he used to come on 96.1 before they became "The Project" and got all corporate and be a guest co-host. He's a funny guy.

  • I think the hammond organ rocks on this but then I am a keyboard player you can never have enough b3

  • What a great tune brings back the old memory's of senior year driving aimlessly in my Pontiac sunbird. Wow has the years gone by!

  • Always loved this song, it rocks.

  • Cool guitar riff. Like the big finish too. Good stuff!

  • Wow!!! Great version ...... Maybe Kurt Cobain was inspired by these guys a little?

  • My previous comment is a quote from an interview. Didn't have enough characters to get the quotation marks in.

  • yes, it’s really cool to have made a record that is that solid. I remember just before we went to record it, I was with my roommate and we were listening to Drivin’ N’ Cryin’. They had an album out at the time called Fly Me Courageous, which is just a great record with eleven awesome songs. I remember saying to my roommate, “God, I hope that we can make a record that is this good.” My roommate kind of raised his eyebrows and said, “I don’t know, Rob. This is a really good record.”

    -Robin Wilson

  • @jmorris724 Robin you worthless cocklicking asswipe!

  • The organ kills it.. in a bad way

  • The Red Sux almost jersey ruins it for me, but a neat performance. =)

  • i got to hang with these guys in May/june of 1991 at a party after a concert of some other local bands in Atlanta. i still think this is one of my fav songs of the late 80's thru early 90's !!! and u r right, most people outside of GA have no clue.

  • Man! I'm from freakin' Hollan and I loooooooooooove em. Kevn Kinney Rules!!!!

  • love this. I love the Friend Song… where's that?

  • At 2:58 to 3:03 what a Fuckin Dork. D'N'C Kicks Ass still does after all these years!!!!

  • @chadmbedwell I know right?

  • @chadmbedwell you really gonna fuck with paul schaffer?

  • I saw them Saturday night 11/20/10 @ Jannus Live in St. Pete, FL. After 25 years they still rock!!! Awsome show! If you ever get the opportunity to see them live...do it!

  • Love Love Love them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • whats thsi song about? What are the lyrics at 2:17-2:19?? shet in his mouth on studio version too.

  • One thing about Paul Schaffer is that he does not discriminate at all. He jams w/ everybody equally. This vid rocked!!!

  • Thats weird that Anton is playing drums and he Drivin drummer is playing congas.

  • kevin had it going on here saw them live shit was the bomb

  • Incredible...I've never actually seen these guys live. Watching them from '91 when they had 20 years more energy reminds me why I loved them when I was first turned on by another misplaced Georgia native. They still make me homesick and I still love'em.

  • Hell Yeah,,2 Thumbs Up !!!

  • We do this song live in my band. I think the singer was nervous. Great band. Great sound.

  • paul shafer is talented on piano ,but he wouldnt know how to be cool if he tried

  • @tenaciousharmonizer what's cool?

  • Paul is a frosted flake no doubt. But he is also one hell of a musician.

  • Paul Shaffer is cool

  • man the keyboard solo really rocked

  • I was in London and missed this in 91. Their new album is brilliant: The Great American Bubble Factory

  • When Dave was not a Liberal piss ant and music fucking rocked

  • He's always been a Liberal, if you want to label him as such.

  • You gotta give Paul some credit. He and the "cornholes" are excellent musicians.

  • That was freakin awesome. I couldve done without Paul Schaffer and his merry band of cornholes though. DNC rocks the song alone!!

  • lol amen to that

  • hahaha, such a young Letterman

  • DNC still kicks a**! One of the best rock songs of the 90's!

  • omg i never knew that song was that old 1991?!? wow! still kiks ass thow

  • That was actually very cool! How did Letterman's band mess it up?!? The fact that Drivin' even got to be on Letterman is crazy amazing! Some of you guys are way to critical.

  • Drivin n Cryin was another great band that few people know about. Great album, great song......but Paul Shitfer & the Cornholes had to mess everything up! why God, why??!

  • awesome song! plus i bet all of us forgot all about the old-school CD packaging from late 80's/early 90's..man, those sucked

  • wow! wgat a nice unknown gem. I love DnC!

  • New NC album out in September! The Great American Bubble Factory

  • letterman is a dick-licker and his house band is shit. they screwed this song up big time.

  • i agree the house band was corny and instead of helping they always seemed to screw it up somehow. But Letterman exposed a lot of underground groups to a large udience youve got to give that to him, he had good taste when it came to music on his show.

  • This is a really good song. Im working on a punk version of it ha.

  • we have a great rock station in IA, they turned me on to these guys, I detasseled corn to this cd one summer. best part of that job!

  • seen these guys live probably 5 or 6 times over the years, had no idea they were ever on letterman

half the time if you mention them outside of georgia people look at you like you just mentioned unicorns having sex with whales or something

  • Now that is freakin hilarious!!!!

  • @drone81 No kidding!!! That really made me laugh just now.

  • @drone81 Well yeah if your're talking to people that no nothing about music. Me and friend used to play this CD back when it was new. Probably one of the BEST hard rock bands that went no where. It's a shame considering some of the elements of their music is VERY trendy right now. Listen to Fly Me Courageous from beginning to end on a pair of headphones....it sounds fresh to me after not listening to it in 17 years.

  • @drone81 oi best ever ac gnology ever im in wisconsin wtf? lol

  • Great Band playing Great Southern Rock!

But will we live long enough to see a Band play on Letterman WITHOUT that Canadian Midget and his Micro-Band trying to get in on the act?

Go Away, Paul Shaffyer and let the Pros play their music.

    LOL!

    Love to you all, "Suzie"

  • I haven't heard this song since way back when!! I heard it on the radio and didn't remember the name catching the tail end of the song. Glad 93.5 posts every song played daily on their site. Here I am jammin again!

  • Good old southern alt-rock, God bless it!

  • lol their old guitarist(the one in the vid) works at a small music store near where i live.

  • Fuckin' EH!!

  • they brought the noise for sure

  • they need more cowbell, cannot have enough cowbell!!!

  • I think they need more guitars.

  • LOL it took me a minute but i got it

  • great post...thanks. Always loved this song. And, the mother America part.

Nice seeing them with Paul, and Anton. And...the pacemaker reference...priceless.

  • how come i can't fins "check your tears at the door" on here?

  • Great band, great clip, dig the keyboards too. Buren Fowler rocks!

  • That was tight, Paul Shaffer's band rocks, Paul is the man

  • I love this band and still have this cassette. that studio got it's ass kicked hell yea.

  • Bucubiotchs, you said that right just let the notes roll the way the visiting band want's them to !!!

  • yea i agree why cant they just sit back. that keyboard shit in the chorus sucked.

  • A tiny bit of well placed keyboard would have been ok. but NO paul had to go stupid on it and be all over the place. And yeah why cant they let the artist just play their shit and sit one out. They add nothing. DnC, Great fucking band.

  • I actually liked Paul's keyboard jackoff session.

  • You know, Paul had the audacity to tell Eric Clapton, B.B. King, and Buddy Guy to "quit improvising" and "do the take" when the three of them were at the Letterman Show practicing for an appearance.

    What an ass!

  • that was fucking awesome

  • cool clip but they should have had the drummer playing his set instead of anton on drums and him playing congas.

  • What a well written great CD ..

still stands up to this day

  • PUNCH ME OUT COLD!!!

  • Love this band

  • them was a great band

  • I hate when that turd Paul Shaffer and his wimpy wanna-be "rock band" orchestra join in with every band that's on. It's distracting, annoying and takes away the true power of what the band is trying to get across. I still think this is a great performance though.

  • I agree with that. I remember when White Zombie was on there and his stupid ass had to play with them.

  • They played a concert at my high school in late 1990. It was one of the loudest and best shows we ever had. I try to catch them whenever they play a show in town.

  • fuckin right

  • Fuck yeah man, makes me wish I actually watched Letterman! Drivin-n-cryin was kick ass

  • I stayed up to see that show....it was one of the greatest nights of my life.

  • I saw this on TV originally and recorded it. Then I lost the tape (yes, back then we actually had VHS tape before the age of TIVO). I'm just glad to see this again. The era of bands paying their dues on the road and then getting a record contract after proving themselves after actually writing their own songs is over.

  • @sweet60 Absolutely it's been over for years, All you have to do is come up with a couple Kick Ass songs and a Damn good Following ad you can get signed.I have noticed in the Last 5 years how all the 80's HAIR BANDS that I love are making a come back,All I can say from about 84'to 92' Was the Best Era of music. Until that dead Faggot Kurt NoBrains,Came along in his Flannel Shirt and ruined it all. That's when MTV changed for ever.It sux Now all they Play is RAP & Dance SHIT. Rock is Back though

  • smokin' performance

  • Audio's a little muddy (from VHS?), but what a great performance!

  • Is the Late Night Band playing along with them?

  • Awesome!!!
