I'd like to see how to make the "y" shaped bail in a vertical bead as the focal on a necklace. I want to start with a headpin running up through the bead and then turning into the "y" shape (2 loops) to be an attractive, decorative bail. Would the same techique would apply if you wanted to start with wire and make a loop at the bottom of the focal to hand something else on it? It would be nice to see this technique demonstrated with variations. But with only one pass of wire through the bead.
I have searched all over YouTube to see if it's possible to make a "y" shaped bail, or two loops at the top, from a headpin for a center drilled bead or stone. If there is a technique, could you please share it? Thanks so much!
@seeme109 We would love to help you with this. Could you please tell us which way the bead hole is running, horizontally through the bead or vertically?
@ArtbeadsVideos This is the 3rd attempt I've made to answer! The hole runs vertically. But would it matter? It couldn't hang horizontally with a headpin, could it? The loop -bail- would just be on one end and would be suspended from the chain, right? That is what I'm after. Thanks.
Oh that is awesome! I've beaded necklaces, bracelets, and even made earrings before, but I never thought to make loops instead of just stringing the beads. I oughtta try that! : )
Very nice video and I like the way she explains what she is doing. However, I am very deaf and I wish that there was a way to impose written instructions under the video go go along with the talking. I would like so much to HEAR what she has to say. I can learn a lot watching and I thank you for that. I will be watching all of your videos.
@beverlyjane57 Thank you for the suggestion of the closed captioning for the videos. We will take this into consideration and appreciate you bringing this matter to our attention. Glad you like the video! - Artbeads.com
@AmbrosiaJb I DO NOT agree with you. It's not boring at all. Why do you think it would be any better if she were 'gushing' rather than calmly explaining the 'hows and whys'? This is an 'educational' video, not entertainment. I AM a newbie at this stuff, but I DO know the importance of having the right equipment for your projects. Maybe YOU are a 'pro' and can do all this stuff 'barehanded', but she's showing the right way to end up with professional looking results.
I think this is a great video. It's very informative, especially for a newbie. I will be watching more of your videos and going to your site. I really want to learn this stuff now that I'm retired and have a bit more time to 'play'. I would love to make my own birthday and Christmas gifts, and if I get pretty good at it, maybe I could even start a home business and sell what I make. Thanks a million for the videos and resources.
Wow! This video reminds me of Christmas time, I think I’ll use your techniques and make a string of beaded garland for my Christmas tree this year! Awesome hints! Thanks! Oh and you should be in the movies cuz you do camera really well. This is for the Amy.
I did answer this question! Hole runs vertically. Thanks.
