The name Korn was tossed out there by Davis while brainstorming for a name. No one really liked it, but out of desperation used the the name before a gig. Davis drew up the Name with a crayon replaced C for a K and reversed the R. The band eventually conceded and the name was adopted.The band actual began to like the name because they took a silly insignifigant word and made it awesome by the music alone.Where as Iron Maiden or Megadeth the name is or if not more important than the music itself.
@Mathonius Wrong, ive read Fieldy's book "Got the Life" and seen a ton of dvds and interviews, they were trying to come up with a name and Jon randomly said "Corn Rows" because thats what Fieldy had his hair as at the time, someone else said drop the "Rows" and just make it "Corn", and then someone said to spell it like a little kid would (explaining why there are kids on almost all of their album covers). Everyone liked how simple but unique it was, so they kept it

I have read that Davis is from Kern county Ca. and was employee of the coroner, and it is a play on the two words, but like I said I don't know I have read a lot of stories on how they came up with the name and that seemed the most likely. Really our two explanations for the name is not all that different. If you were to ask another band member they too would have a slight dif explanation. Lots of drugs.

I haven't heard many Korn songs, but this piece seems to have little traits of other songs. A lot of this reminds me of Freak on a Leash. Is this some kind of story or something? =/ Probably me just noticing nothing important, but love this song anyway :)

The name Korn was tossed out there by Davis while brainstorming for a name. No one really liked it, but out of desperation used the the name before a gig. Davis drew up the Name with a crayon replaced C for a K and reversed the R. The band eventually conceded and the name was adopted.The band actual began to like the name because they took a silly insignifigant word and made it awesome by the music alone.Where as Iron Maiden or Megadeth the name is or if not more important than the music itself.

@Mathonius Wrong, ive read Fieldy's book "Got the Life" and seen a ton of dvds and interviews, they were trying to come up with a name and Jon randomly said "Corn Rows" because thats what Fieldy had his hair as at the time, someone else said drop the "Rows" and just make it "Corn", and then someone said to spell it like a little kid would (explaining why there are kids on almost all of their album covers). Everyone liked how simple but unique it was, so they kept it

@deadtombII Cool. I am not stating that I am certain of that. Just seems the most likely. I have read that Davis is from Kern county Ca. and was employee of the coroner, and it is a play on the two words, but like I said I don't know I have read a lot of stories on how they came up with the name and that seemed the most likely. Really our two explanations for the name is not all that different. If you were to ask another band member they too would have a slight dif explanation. Lots of drugs.

@deadtombII I read heads book and it says nothing about corn rows, im sure your right but all it said in that book was something about children of the corn and something about one of jonathans gay friend having a sexual experience with corn. it didnt say what that was but i can only imagine with gay people, and how corn is always visible in shit. haha.

the name was inspired by the film "Children of the Corn" the put a K instead of a C to make it look like a little kid drew it. thats the point of the backwards R too, and what that guy said about the child porn is wierd and ive never heard that bfr. I always figured the reason JD put kids on most of the albums is cause he went thru a horrible childhood so he believes in rights for children, ive also heard the 1st album art is supposed to represent him killin the chick who molested him but idk
