  • the first season was reminiscent of 2001 a space odyssey by stanly kubrick. the space clipper, discovery, landing pods, space station and moon bus all fit perfectly with moonbase alpha. the musical score was excellent, cast and crew exceptional, and the plot was at least tolerable.

  • Stanley Kubrick has a lot to answer for.

  • I was in love with her and the series as a Kid and after 25 years or so i still like to see this stuff it was all amazing

  • I loved this show as a child. I did not know that this documentary existed. I'm going to try to find it.

  • essa mulher é muito linda barbara, sempre assistia esse filme, sucesso a cada dia

  • for my memory she will be forever the doctor russell.

  • I'm tickled that when I first saw Juliet Landau on Buffy: the Vampire Slayer, I immediately got turned onto her character. There was something about her that I couldn't quite put my finger on (her father and mother, of whom I was a fan). Then I saw the name and knew.

  • That set was magnificent, Hell it still is, I can't get enough of Space:1999, Main Mission is a place of light and thing of beauty, I adore that set! Barabara Bain is terrific, what an amazing lady.

    Ade

  • @straker2 Yeah, I can't either. Just love all the cast and crews...Specially Martin Landau and Barbara Bain, Nick Tate, Barry Morse and ofcourse lovely Catherine Schell (Maya) and her boy friend Tony Anholt.

  • I always enjoyed Gerry and Sylvia Anderson's early productions but I thought the first season of this was better so I stopped watching their stuff after this. I wonder what happened to the Earth after the Moon flew away. Without the Moon's gravity assisting the Earth's seasonal ecosystem, Earth may start dying. Would like to see a final episode made when the Moon finally return to Earth, probably appearing from the opposite side of the universe after making a big loop.

  • I liked her in the first season she was kind of a sexy mysterious cougar then the second season they made her look like a corny American soccer Mom.

  • Where did this documentary come from?

  • It was an inspiring set!! Barbara had it right!.....Bless her! the set was HUGE!...and looked great...too bad they didn't keep it!

  • Please, please upload the rest. I like it how actors and actresses actually respect the efforts of the production crew, in this case being the Camera and Lighting Department, and especially the Art & Design Department. Some actors never acknowledge these kind of things, because there just pathetic, egotistic arseholes.

  • She reminds me of Hilary Clinton, well ok one has nothing to do with the other but still.

No remake, I like original series, the remakes always lack the original lack of technology, that's what makes an original become a classic.

  • she's a real tv star.

  • She still looks good! SHe could be in a remake and still look great!

  • Maybe a remake with her as the commander, or chief scientist (instead of the great Barry Morse, RIP)?

  • Mmmm the milf in the moon, me thinks.

  • the set was amazing. still looks cool and un-dated today.

  • Yeah, what kind of documentary is this? I want to see it.

  • Yes it was a fantastic set and still looks good even now Credit to the talented set design crew !

  • i loved this seies and barbara bain's voice..ahhh just keep talking helena whilst i go into a dream lol and heyyy what was wrong with maya she was quite cool in her way added somthing diffrent to the show:)

  • It's so true. Compared to the second series, the first series's Main Mission (Command Center) so they called it, was absolutely astouding! It was a huge set and was something that way surpassed today's science fiction shows.

  • Yeh, i want more barbara, she's mine so hands off!!! no seriouly, can you post some more of this please...

  • Main Mission was so cool.

  • Oh pe-leeeeze!!! There's got to be more of this interview! I want more!

I am insainly in love with that woman.

And with you, girl, *wink* thanks for that gem. Chantal

  • Don't worry, my friend, I have to space out the material a little. ;-)
