Pirlo (as regista) and Seedorf (as trequartista) and before that Rivaldo and Rui Costa (trequartista) were/are the Milan playmakers.

Kaka is a brazilian No. 10, witch is a withdrawn forward (or 9 1/2 in european terms), not a european/ italian No. 10 (trequartista) like Seedorf, Bagio, Totti, Rui Costa.

Just as at Milan he played with Pirlo and Seedorf on the pitch, at RM Mourinho plays him with X. Alonso and Ozil.

He is a counter attacking midfielder, if you think kaka's vision and dribbling is "mediocre" then i'm sorry but you don't know what your talking about. Even in his recent average at best season at real madrid, he was their best player when it came to creativity. Real wont get the best out of kaka till they play fast tempo counter attacking football, that suits him best imo.

Kaka is NOT a playmaker, i'm sorry this isn't an opinion its a fact. Xavi, pirlo, scholes, banega, riquelme fabregas and xabi alonso are todays finest examples of a true playmaker. All of them are responsible for controlling possession and the rythm of the game. They are always their teams main passing option, when have you ever seen kaka do that?

Totti is an attacking playmaker like sneijder,ozil, riquelme, zidane etc. An attacking playmaker and a deeplying playmakers role are the same except their positioned in different areas of the pitch and obviously the former would be expected to score more goals.

The regista themselves are split into advanced like Xavi, Iniesta and withdrawn/ defensive (right above the defensive line) like Pirlo, Guardiola.
