  • thank u! i really learned a lot! :) u'r amazing

  • like in the farmville music theme,,,

  • every musician makes 'funny faces' when it feels the music...if you dont make 'funny faces', if you dont feel the music when you're playing then something is wrong with you...

not saying this to anyone in particular....

  • don't know why, but during listening to craggy blues I feel like I am on wild west in the saloon or on the bazaar :)Great stuff, I am thinking of buying whole DVD set.

    Aloha!

  • Surely these people asking for tabs are just trolling?

  • Walking bass is awesome!

  • The first one was amazing

  • Can someone please explain to me how this all goes together? Is he just plucking string in chords that al share the same key?

  • great!

  • it comes with tab - see the web site dude! J

  • Yes it does

  • is there any difference between jazz blues and rock blues? please reply...

  • Fantastic. Going to have to order this one. Just out of curiousity: It appears you're reading the songs while playing. Are you reading notes or tab during this presentation?

  • I am. I normally improvise in this style and I want to get them just the same, so i read them as I go... I know them of course, but it stops me from slipping into improv stuff if i stick the page up... J

  • his facial expressions remind me of Norm Macdonald

  • the first song is awesome...]

  • Gee naw...surely he has earned the right to *sell* something and still sleep at night. Having said that, there are a few guys on here doing the *free* thing with a hook, and that is their perogative, but justin has put like 200 or so free vids up...clearly, he is doing the righty...give the guy a break man!

Which bit of "DVD Demo" didn't you get from the video title? Or perhaps it was the "You can only order it from the NEW site" part you didn't understand.

Write your child-like comments elsewhere friend, they aren't welcome here.

  • woah man...please dont diss justin sandercoe hes helped alot of youtube beginner guitarists learn.

  • What about the 100 or so free 10 minute lessons on YouTube?

The man's gotta make a living. This is his job after all, and you don't have to watch them.

Go teach yourself if you're not into it and if you play quietly, your mum won't realise you're up after your bedtime

    F#$ EM

  • Beautiful guitar! Is that a Cole Clark?

  • Its a Maton

  • "curl" lol... It is a 1/2 or 1/4 bend that is played as a staccato note when it reaches the note/pitch u require. "curl" is a new one 2 me anyhow... Enjoy your stuff though keep spreading the good work... :)

  • passionate

  • dude when you play a guitar your face does wateva the fuck it wants to do an if thats his guitar face then so e it

  • that is awesome!!!!!!!!

  • You should do a lesson teaching people how to arrange these kind of songs on their own, Mr. Sandercoe, if you already did, I apologize. Hopefully I can get these! :)

  • Well, maybe he could, he and David Taub seem to be able to teach everything easily and best of all with humor! :)

  • Wow. xD

In a sense you're right you can't but you can teach someone how to go about writing one. How to make it easier, the different stages, what helps, what doesn't help, etc.

  • Your facial expressions shows how you feel the music inside. I love to watch your movies.

  • Many thanks to you for posting these videos. I am just starting to learn guitar and you have been very helpful for me.

  • hey justin you are great!!

  • I know I look real funny when I play - but I can't help it :) lol

    Take care and thanks, J

  • Hehe, it just proves that you're impassioned of the music you're playing :)

  • @JustinSandercoe No worries... if people dont make funny facial expressions when they're playing blues they're probably not trying hard enough :)

  • wow, very nice, I will have to look into that one. nice work Justin =) sounds great

  • legal

  • Nice, but your facial expressions are hilarious!

  • i love the first thing you play

  • Man, you're awesome! I regret so much I left my guitar home on the other side of the planet :-( But I save to buy a new one. Thanks a lot!

  • holy crap that was awsome

  • Very good presentation of true to the bone skill. He has a lot of talent, and I'm sure he'll just get better.

  • Yeah, the box set Vol 1-3 will be cool! Justin keep up your good work!

  • Man, the first song would be so much cooler with the steady quarter note drone bass. But cool regardless.

  • Hey guy's you took it the wrong way i was being sarcastic..

    justin rocks....

  • Hey barzatops too many idiots on here to understand your comment! I understand you werent being mean!

  • great!

  • Nice video justin! What guitar is that? You should do a video showing your acoustic guitars.

  • It's Maton, not sure what model though it seems to be custom as I havent seen one exactly the same before.

  • Yup, that's a Custom Maton alright. You can tell my their custom logo on the head of the guitar.

  • i wish i could play that good. sounds so crisp

  • Can't wait to order it, so I can learn the first song in the demo.

  • Very nicely played, what guitar is that though?

The sound is very very nice!

  • Been a subscribe since last fall. Material is always very user friendly. Will likely order the Vol 1-3 box set. Keep up the great work Justin!

  • me too! but can i trust paypal...

  • dude your a master i wish i could be as good as you are

  • J ... you are the man ...

    Don ...

  • i really enjoyed watching this video justin.

lots of good luck with your new DVD!!

    see ya soon,

    XEM

  • your a really amazing guitar player

  • Nice improvement in video editing! :D

  • Cool songs, Justin! Thanks for everything you've done :) I've already figured out 1/4 of Single Line Blues by my self if you don't mind ;)

  • Anyone who's even a little serious about learning to play the guitar shouldn't mind learning the correct notes/names of the strings, i.e. "the D string", or "the B string", or "the low E", etc.

    What do you think???

Love your lessons, just one little "nit to pick"

  • The third string is universally recognized as the G string.

    6th string = low E, 1st = high E etc...

  • I did try using the "g string" approach but i got stick for that too!! ;)

I might try it again and see what happens.

I do think the 1st string to 6th string approach is easier to grasp for beginners - as long as they know that the 1st string is the thinnest!

    :), J

  • sounds great, might buy it. We will see

  • Justin; A question, and a constructive criticizm.

First, what guage strings do you use on your acoustic? You seem to be able to bend pretty easy, so I wondered what guage you have on.

Second; The only thing I've EVER noticed on you lessons, that I wish you would change, is how you refer to the individual strings on a guitar. (i.e, "little one", "3rd string", etc. 3rd from which side ???? Confusing !!!)

    cont. in next comment !!

  • Re to your second question. The only reason I think Justin refers to the thiner strings of the guitar as the "little one" is because it is just generally more easier for a average user to understand which string is to be sounded. As not everybody knows what the different notes are identified by.

On a standard Acoustic/electric guitar, the third string from both sides is the G string.

Justin is also professional so bending in tune should be relatively easy for him.

    Very nice blues Justin :)

  • forgot the strings question... I use 13 gauge on that guitar - DR Phosphor Bronze. 12's on electric - DR Tite fit. Sometimes I go a gauge heavier on acoustic, sometimes to 11's on electric - depends on what I am doing.

I can bend pretty easy cos i guess my fingers are pretty strong - I have used thick strings since i was about 12!!

    J

  • Holy Cow !!! 13's, and you bend them like butter !!! No wonder the guitar sounds so full and rich (large guage strings on an acoustic usually give a fuller sound)

Re: Sting Names: It just seems like a good place for a beginner to start: Learn 6 notes on your guitar; E, A, D, G, B, e. Shouldn't be too hard to start with these notes, and this is even more "universal" a system than "1st string" A beginner has to learn which is the "1st string" anyway. Who knows whether "1st" = "top"??

  • Nice vid! Really cool info, sounds great!

  • Justin your the man I would be no where on guitar without you bro! Keep on rockin dude!

  • too bad you will now have to pay for the lessons... but oh well, its what everyone would have done probably isn't it? Still underage and without a job, no way i can afford this now :<.

  • hey burnzya

i sell a few dvd's to help pay for the site - cos not enough people donate!!!!

The whole of the site is free still for people who can't afford it, and the new site has even more lessons and more vids etc.

    so don't be :(

    :) J

p.s - yes chair was wierd, for me too!

    p.p.s - thanks y'all :))

  • Of course you have to sell some dvd's, but can't you make more lessons like that for free?

I'm sure you can get some money out of advertisements.

  • sangolt - i will do more like that for free, but i give away too many, no-one would buy the dvd!!

Adverts pay sfa. It is really hard to find good advertisers - I could stick up those shit "smiley" type ads on my site, but i think they are annoying and would rather sell dvd's than fill my site with ads for gambling and stuff like that that pays better!

I hope most of the web site users agree...

    J

  • The craggy bar blues is sweeeeet... Reminds me of Deep River Blues

  • great man, great

  • Wow, it's wierd seeing you in a chair lol, thanks for all the lessons Justin :)

  • Your such a GREAT teacher! :D
