@udubdave If you dont want to use invisalign, my dentist told me then could put braces in the backs of your teeth as opposed to your front. He said most dentists lie about it, that they don't know how to do it b/c it's such a hassle. He told me he'd do it for me but I had my heart set on invisalign. 2:03 is too scary to be real...

My dentist told me invisalign only works if your teeth are already pretty good and just need a little correction. Some of these people's teeth look really, really bad, yet they used invisalign? Was my dentist lying to me?

@AmandaSynce I would say you tend to notice changes earlier because there aren't any wires or crap like that covering your progress. And apparently if you're dedicated to taking care of your trays and going to check ups when prompted, treatment can be cheaper AND faster than normal braces. But that is only the case in my country, I understand it's different for America.

invisalign looks like it works for fixing gaps but not fixing the bite so that the teeth line up correctly. that's why i think braces are better

I really struggle ti get my head around how braces work in some situations. Take the person at 1:24. When they bit, there is still a large gap between their middle front and bottom teeth. I cant understand how this can be fixed? The 'simulation' seems to show the whole top jaw somehow moving down, the top gums getting longer. Wouldn't that require some serious surgery? I need someone to explain it to me because it's hurting my brain! lol

@berrysprinkle Yes, the "blocks" are attachments/buttons that are removed at the end of treatment :) They are used to help the teeth move into their ideal position.

My dentist said I can't get Invisalign because I have one tooth thats a little behind my other one in the front, but my teeth arn't nearly as bad as these ones and they got fixed. @humins11 I agree! I think it's because they are only concerned with having the functionality of straight teeth and not the aesthetics of having a white smile. Most Americans that opt to have cosmetic dentistry tend to go for that Hollywood smile while people of other cultures tend to go along with the yellowish shade of their natural teeth. I just spent $18,751 dollars for Lumineers for my top and BOTTOM and my smile is SUPER WHITE from front to back. Now, that's how you do it!

@DestinyLovesJB I'm not sure what are the gaps you mentioned. But if you mean the little gaps below the gum line, it's more like a gum recession. To close those gaps, orthodontics is not your option. Invisalign does work! almost a million invisalign patients can guarantee that :)
