Go Freddie, Go Bri, John & Roger! I love Vintage Queen. If I had a time machine I'd set it to Rainbow 1974 and go to this concert. Then I could be "down in the city" just Queen & me. Also a big shout out to Zhandra Rhodes for creating Freddie's iconic costume seen in this video while on stage. I believe she also made Brian's.
I think you can hear johns voice in this to, you can see him at the mic singing the main chorus, hes got that real husky broken voice like in earl courts

@QueenLive1974 listen i love queen...A LOT but a comment infering that the Beatles dont have ANY sort of talent means you dont know anything and you dont play any music yourself bc i do and its not freakin easy. Song writing ability??
You might like that sytle of music and i can see why but I do and respect it a lot. the Beatles and Queen are on differnt spectrums anyways.
I didin't know that by '74 Queen had "made it" and were being taken to shows in limousines. But I guess the Rainbow gig symbolized their march toward continued greatness.
ivegot this on dvd but theres another version they did in march i think it was of that same year im after that version can anyone help pleaseeeeeeeeeeeee lol lol ill pay for a copy of course
Why must every Queen video have people commenting on Freddies sexuality or his personal life? Who cares if he was gay? or if he had Aids? He was the greatest singer/ showman/songwriter/musician of all time and always will be and still reamians it to this day! Freddie is the best! RIP Freddie.
Yeah, it's not really Queen. The first two songs were released by Freddie under the nickname Larry Lurex some time before Queen's first album was released. The other songs are from Smile, the group before Queen (Brian May + Roger Taylor + Tim Staffell).
And I don't think that Freddie was gay. Just read about his religion - sodomy is the 1st deadly sin in it. But he was buryed just like the religion requires...
Hmm, well... he WAS gay. He and his last partner Jim Hutton met in a gay club in London. But what difference it makes? He was gay, Rob Halford (the king of metal) is gay, even the creator of Orkut is gay! Hey! Even I am gay! And he didn't follow the Zoroastrian faith, he was cremated in the Zoroastrian rituals because it was his family's religion...
So sad to read this. Even you...Well I'm not. You see, it was more confortable for me to think that Freddie wasn't gay 'cos in my country it's not accepted(to be gay). But I really like him...
are saying that before he was died he didnt go back to his former faith? that is was just a formality for his family? i would be glad if this were true.
@bessadale.....Actually, so many of Freddie's songs are sprinkled with all kinds of religious references. Some of the lyrics fr. Liar are right out of the catechism. Don't forget he went to Catholic school his whole life, how could it Not rub off on him?
And, btw, Freddie remained very spiritual until the end, praying & believing, etc.
He was also clearly bi, not just gay, leaving his fortune to the love of his life, Mary.
By the way, when people say they wish it was released on DVD, they're talking about the entire concert:
Procession / Now I'm Here / Ogre Battle / White Queen / In The Lap Of The Gods / Killer Queen / The March Of The Black Queen / Bring Back That Leroy Brown / Son And Daughter / Guitar Solo / Father to Son / Drum Solo / Keep Yourself Alive / Liar / Son And Daughter / Stone Cold Crazy / In The Lap Of The Gods...Revisited / Jailhouse Rock / God Save The Queen
Excuse me, but all the members from Queen (except John) were considered good enough vocalists to sing Queen songs in their own right, and they all contributed to backing vocals. Your claim that Brian cannot sing is therefore quite innapropriate. Maybe he was just having an off night, it happens to the best of us.
Sorry I was just having an "offnight" when I posted that comment. I must have had a headcold or something. I listened to it a few more times it really doesn't sound that bad.
no krakobird i said there were god and goddesses becasue they were the best band and song writers in the wotld, not becasue of anything else,i love them and freddie becasue my dad grew up with them and when i was born,i went to every concert from 1993 to 2005 with my dad,he went to most of his concerts from 1972 to 1986 so don't say i make fun of freddie, becasue is my my fairy "king' not queen just to make oyu happy!

@SaintsnBraves3 you can't call them untalented though!!they had enormous talent, especially if you think about their lack of any special musical education!actually i love both bands, but i think queen took what the beatles (and other bands like zeppelin) brought to music,a step further!
@QueenLive1974 The Beatles were a huge inspiration to Queen! They have admitted it as well as using many of the Beatles' elements and looking up to them!If you really think that the beatles didn't have any sort of talent, you clearly don't know anything about music AND Queen.I'm sorry to say that because I respect your work here and love your channel.

Brian should stick to his guitar and quit from chiming in with his offkey voice and ruining everything. Freddie is the vocalist in that band.
