my opinion - two of my favorite bands. neither are genuine punk bands. rancid is kind of a modern punk, blink is more pop punk, sometimes called "skate" punk, rancid is MORE punk, but not like genuine 77 punk. thats the way i see it, no disrespect! love both bands!

If we're saying that it's "Blink 182 vs. Rancid - who's a better punk band?", then it's obviously Rancid since they actually sing and present punk rock music. Blink-182 does not do this. Rancid sings about real world conflicts, like politics, war, and being middle class and coming from nothing and about the East Bay. But with Blink-182, most people would say that they are a better band because they simply "sound better". They focus on simple riffs and melodies so people will listen to their music, since that's what everybody likes. In my opinion, Rancid's better. But it's all opinion
