308 is pleanty of power for hog, deer, elk, it's all about shot placement. A good shoulder shot assures that the animal is down, sometime it just takes a minute for them to stop breathing, hogs are tough that way. Heart lung shot assures the animal bleeds out inside, less blood in the meat. Hogs are smart and tough and breed like rabbits. They say a bear needs a reason to be mad a hog stays mad all the time. They are minimally etiable and that big one looked like he would make tough gravy.

it sure looked like it stopped it in one shot..... it didnt kill it instantly but the placement was on the point of the shoulder which broke it, and it went into a tripod and then down.
