I loved your creativity in your movements and choreography. Just watch your extensions. Be sure to reach out from the shoulder/ hip, not the elbow/knee. You have really great movement and flow but we miss out on that when you don't extend. Overall, this was a great first go at contemporary. You've got my vote!!

Good work! I'm impressed to know that contemp is new for you. You embraced Emily's choreography well. I felt more disconnected on your improv at times. Sometimes less is more. Really extend past your movements as far as your body can go. Your a powerful dancer & at times you cut off that extending. Find some moments in your dancing to just 'be'. The more you put music on & just improv & move, the better you will get with that. Best of luck!

hey holly.. its emily... i think you dance so soulfully. i really love it. i love the way you did "start" and i love the part that says "ooonnneeee" at 19 seconds. you really did an amazing job of embracing the moves. like, they look like they feel good to you.

it was great for your first attempt at contemporary... I took a couple contemporary classes this summer, and it's so hard to move your body that way! I always felt totally retarded. What style of dance do you specialize in? (I can't think of the way I really want to word that)

Holly, Ha, yeah loved the intro! I think you did a good job with this considering it isn't your style. You captured the overall flow of the choreography well and even through your middle (improv) section the flow of the overall movement around the floor was nice. Within that though I would need to see the fluidity in your body more as a lot of movements got locked up in your elbows and shoulders. An example might be from 1:29 to 1:35 because you have good fluidity as you move about but (cont.)

in the final movement as you extend your arms you kind of get locked up. Good job overall though. Oh, I liked the way you did the "step back" at 0:12 and also the way your eyes followed your hands sometimes -- that was all effective.
