Dont worry its normal for them to eat there pups, if the mother feels that the pup is too weak or that she doesnt have enough milk she will eat it so that the pup wont have to suffer

yeah my hamster enjoyed taking a with me break even in the early days of her motherhood. If she's the one that comes to you and she doesn't seem threatened I'm sure you'll do no harm (sorry for the late reply)
the mom usually prepares the nest before the birth, my hamster gave birth yesterday and the 3 days prior to it she was scampering around making a nest and now she sits on her pups and feeds them

these are my hamster's pups, 8of them, she ate the ninth one..
same happened to me! i didn't know that we had hamster babies but when i went to watch what's happening, i saw a dead hamster.
we have 8 beautiful pups now. i don't know why flora ate her ninth baby.. maby there was too much of them.
