  • Good clip. Well done~

  • this sounds like whinnie the pooh is singging

  • What I want to know is, did Sterling Holloway or Jim Cummings voice this?

  • @idioticlisa It's Jim Cummings. They wrote the song, but they didn't record it until they did the special dvds.

  • ...If Pooh Bear ever snapped and lost it... XD

  • Another reason to love Winnie the Pooh and the Cheshire Cat even more than ever XD

  • Lol, The Cheshire Cat's not the only one who's voice actor has been in multiple Disney features. Alice is played by the same actress as Wendy.

  • To clear things up with all the confusion, Sterling Holloway was the voice of Pooh,Chesire Cat, Kaa, and countless other Disney character. However, Holloway's voice for Pooh was Holloway doing a British accent. Holloway died in 1992.

Because Holloway died, they used Jim Cummings to do the voice of the Chesire Cat here. Cummings made a gigantic mistake by dooing Pooh's voice instead of the Chesire Cat voice.

The thing is, people seem to think Holloway always used the same voice. Not true.

  • Im smiling the biggest smile that even the Cheshire cat cannot compare to because this song is adorable

  • POWER TO JIM CUMMINGS! GREATEST DISNEY VOICE ACTOR IN THE WORLD

  • I think Disney contracted most of their voice actors back then, that's why you hear the same people for some of Disney's older movies. People act so surprised when they see Pooh is also the Cheshire cat... -_-

  • @TheSquirrelsquirrels yes, thats correct, i like it thats its whinnie the pooh,

    i love those characters! :)

i think people just think its funny or stuff..

back in those days there weren't alot of people who did these things so.. ;)

  • @TheSquirrelsquirrels

POOH IS THE CHESHIRE CAT?! HELL YES!!!! >=D AS IF I COULDN'T LOVE POOH BEAR ENOUGH! PLUS, THIS SONG IS CUUUUUTE!

  • @CosplayCore Pooh and Cheshire cat are also Kaa from he Jungle Book.

    Same voice actor

  • @TheSquirrelsquirrels Right! Or like how Alice is played by the same actress as Wendy?

  • @TheSquirrelsquirrels- And Roquefort in the Aristocats, as well as Kaa in the jungle book. Phil Harris did a ton too.

  • @TheSquirrelsquirrels- I forgot he did the voice of Sleepy in Snow White.

  • @TheSquirrelsquirrels He's also Kaa from the Jungle Book. The modern voice of the Cheshire Cat is Jim Cummings. He's done other voices including Pooh, Kaa, Tigger, Ray, Frollo (KH 3D) and Bonkers D. Bobcat. He's done and does do many more. Go to Disney Wiki.

  • doesn't this sound like whinnie the pooh?

  • @RoxieHart97 It does, I was thinking that. But that's because the guy who voices the cheshire cat also does our favorite silly old bear. But this song's still pretty cool though.

  • @RoxieHart97

if you read a few reactions before you, you would see its the same guy ;)

    ghehe :)

  • @RoxieHart97 if you read more then one comment..

you SEE that it is the voice of whinnie the pooh...

  • whinny the pooh

  • This should have been in the movie at a random moment JUST to screw with people.

  • @IceQueen975

wel, at first i thought so to only i think the song is to ADHD for the movie.

none of the songs are like this and whel, its a great song only i think its better thats he's not in the movie :P

the other cheshirecat song is perfect for cheshire! :)

  • @cyberdinges The song he got is really the Jabberwocky poem in song form; whie good and it does fit, I just felt this one discribes the Cheshire Cat much better. Also, the Jabberwocky is never mentioned in the movie, though apparently Walt wanted to put that in the movie but thought it would be too scary, so those who never read the books don't know what a Jabberwoker is.

  • Why was this cut from the movie? It ROCKS!

  • Why, oh WHY, would they cut this?? It's wonderful!

  • Is the actor of Pooh bear and Cheshire cat also the vioce of the mouse in the Aristocats?

  • @52wbending52 Yes

  • @52wbending52 Yes indeed. All I hear when I hear this cat is Pooh Bear xD

  • I fund that at one point they were going to put the original part of the Cheshire cat in with the pepper and the baby and the duchess and everything but then cut it out pooh!

  • Does Cheshire Cat sound like Pooh Bear???

  • @BriansDisneyGal Same voice actors

  • its odd that i never noticed that Jim Cummings as Pooh also did the Chesire Cat. :)

  • catchy song! I wanna download this song myself...

  • Where this songs come from?

  • I can't listen to this song without seeing a Pooh-Cheshire Cat cross.

  • I thought Pooh was a bear...

  • The song is quite awesome. But, it really wouldn't fit in very well with the movie. It's a bit more fast-paced and not exactly dreamlike like all the others...

  • Can you send me the song "I'm odd"? I've been looking for it for years!!!

  • he sounds like pooh...

  • Whoa...this song reaaaally makes you realize that Pooh's voice and the Cheshire Cat's voice are the same...it sounded like a demented Pooh was singing it. In a good way. XD

  • voice of whinnie the poo?

  • whos sings this, sterling holloway or jim cummings? i cant tell, they sound so alike xD

  • @TheDarkPrince926 Jim Cummings :)

  • @Tozzywozzy01 Why thank you:D

  • This is an awesome song, but I can probably see one reason it was left out. The rest of the film's songs are somewhat poetic (Golden Afternoon) and silly (like the Unbirthday Song), while this one's very fast-paced and nightmare-fuelish. XD But the official DVD says that it was because they decided to scrap the full Jabberwock poem, and replaced this song with the Cat singing the chorus of the poem. Props to Sterling Holloway and Jim Cummings!

  • @TPrower Maybe............But I prefer THIS song. It suits the Cheshire Cat more.

  • Personally, I'm glad this song was left out. It's a little more fast-paced and frantic for the Disney version of the character, and Sterling Holloway's beautifully lazy and dreamlike voice was much better suited for his Carroll-poetry song.

  • I'm actually sad that this wasn't in the movie.

  • I wish this had been in the movie!

  • please!!!could you please tell me where you find those pictures at 0:35

  • Why wasn't this in the movie? It's insanely catchy! And could you imagine the visual gags they could have had? coughakicklineofdancingcheshirecatscough

And yes, it DOES sound like Pooh because they have the same actors.

  • i got my cheshire cat =D

  • OMG CHRISTMAS IS IN TWO OR THREE DAYS I CANT WAIT TO GET MY CHESHIRE CAT PLUSH! aka LIFE SIZED!FROM DISNEY LAND =D

  • pooh bear?

  • the cheshire cat sound like tigger from winnie the pooh or somthing OH YEAH im getting a life size cheshire cat plushie in the mail today but i can play with it on X mas =[

  • He sounds so much like Winnie in this song. Its like Winnie went psycho. lol But its kinda cute. I always forget how many roles this dude played in Disney movies.

  • isn't that also winni the pooh's voice and the snake from jungle book?

  • Whoa, that's really catchy!

  • i am the chesire cat for the play so i have to sing this

  • Please re-upload this with the storyboards that go with it.

  • A cat with a beard is weird, eh? Well, I have a cat with sideburns. I wonder where that falls on the scale?

  • Love this song. But the word 'sod' might have caused discomfort.

  • Chesire Cat always creeped me out in the movie, like how his body would disappear and then his mouth would disappear last.

  • i luv this song i kno this by hart! i luv tha cheshire cat

  • i love Alice in Wonderland this may sound really weird but i know every single word in the movie i will voice over it or i will lip sync with it

  • This song always cheers me up somehow.

  • Omg Cheshire rocks! I have a stuffed version of him on my head! Why did they delete this rockin song?!

  • Can U Send This To Me? Please?

  • AWESOME! awesome video amazing your a awesome editor really amazing work well done! *likes*

  • Is this the actual video

  • THEY SHOULD NOT HAVE DELETED THIS!!!!!

  • My favorites are the Cat, the Mad Hatter, The March Hare, Caterpillar, and Alice

  • DUDE CAN SOMEONE GIMME THE LYRICS DX

  • CHESHIRE CAT FOR PRESIDENT!

  • Chesire Cat=Most Interesting Disney Character EVER!

  • The guy who plays Winnie plays him in the 1951 version, but since he is now dead and did not have a chance to record this song, it is sung by Jim Cummings, voice actor genius, who is Ed on Lion King.

  • lol dude

  • is that pooh bear singing lol

  • Sounds too much like Winnie the Pooh. XD But I really wish they had had this in the movie. It would've been PERFECT!

  • Can anyone tell me where I can get this song?

  • I LOVE THIS SONG! I'm so happy that someone decided to put it on here. I also have it on the DVD. How did You manage to upload it? I can't figure out how. I want to put everything on here. Meaning the song and the interview.

  • To bad this song never made it to the final cut of the movie. It fits that mad Cheshire Cat. :-)

  • they should have left that song in.

  • I want this song! D:>

  • I wish they add this song in World of Color while the fountains play ping pong with his head.

  • Since World of Color has a scene with the Chesire Cat they should have added this song when the fountains play ping pong with his head.

  • i love the march hare and chesire cat

'can you stand on your head'

    and

    'clean cup move down!!!!'

  • @chewchewchewing HEY! It goes like this.

-- Can You stand on Your head?

    -- Oh!

-- However, If I were looking for a white rabbit, I'd ask the Mad Hatter.

  • @YuckeyDevil752

It is, along with Winnie the Pooh

  • as of nowthis is my theme song

  • I didn't like this movie verry much when I was little (it was to weird even for me) I did however think the chesire cat was pretty cool

  • the chesire cat rules

  • @YuckeyDevil752 and tabbyl95: He sounds like both Kaa and Winnie-the-Pooh because he is. That voice actor is the late, great Sterling Holloway, who voiced not only those two and the Cat, but the Stork in Dumbo as well. :3

  • the Chesire Cat is really my favorite character from Alice in wonderland!

  • I just watched this on the new Alice in Wonderland DVD....And now I'm going to have nightmares lol

  • @DevilSummerChan

    I knew it!

  • My "twin" is the CHESHIRE CAT!!

  • This song matches me as well!! Because I am different among other "special" people at my school

  • This is totally my theme song, everything about it fits me pretty well XD Well except the beard thing... cuz I'm, you know, a female.

  • He sounds like Pooh for some reason. O_o

  • theyre the same actors.

  • Does anyone know where I can download this song? I want it so bad D:

  • @thegiverofbreath

if you want, you can give me your mail, i can mail it to you!!:)

    xx

  • @cyberdinges can you do the same for me pleasE?

  • Incredible, it's a good song and they lost it.

  • man this song has a kick ass tune at 40 seconds to 60 seconds

  • The Cheshire cat Has the same voice as Winnie the Pooh!

  • is its the same person. and he is the mouse on the aristocats too

  • I THOUGHT that was him!

  • can you stand on your head?

  • I want Cheshire Cat as president of the world *____*

  • @LordZaamus I WOULD LOVE THAT!

  • @LordZaamus I'd vote for 'im . . . or is it her?

  • @LordZaamus Nicolas Sarkozy is the President Cheshire Cat of France!!!

  • can you upload the deleted Jabberwocky song?

'Be ware the Jab-jab-jabberwock. The Jubjub and the bandersnatch'

  • i'm searching for it, i'm gonna do my best =)

maybe not with such e perfect video, but i'll try =)

  • @LobsterPotsticker i might try too.

  • Is this Pooh's voice singing???

  • It would make sense. Sterling Holloway was the voice of both Pooh and the Cheshire Cat in the original films, although Jim Cummings ( I think) took over the roles after Holloway's death. (In an interesting note, Holloway also played the Frog Footman in the 1933 Paramount live action version, which was best known for such actors as Cary Grant, W.C. Fields and Gary Cooper play the Mock Turtle, Humpty Dumpty, and White Knight respectively.

  • Thanks for agreeing with me :)

  • Yep, Jim Cummings took over the role of Pooh :) Jim Cummings ALSO took over the role of Kaa in the Jungle Book 2 (Sterling played Kaa in the 1st movie). Didn't Jim Cummings sing this song, since it was a deleted song?

It's funny how Jim Cummings and Sterling Holloway sound so similar.

  • It would be so cool to see this song in the end credits of the new Alice in Wonderland after all it they are both Disney

  • odd...... And very Mean

  • This song is amazing! =D Im his biggest fan!

  • any chance this song could be sent to me? Need the music but can't seem to find it anywhere?

  • omg it's TIGGER!

(it sounds more like tigger than pooh guys)

well, they are both cats technically......XD

why did they delete this song....it's so cool!

  • Great song

  • is there an instrumental???

  • is there???

  • This song fits me perfectly, I'm also odd. lol XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

  • Haha, me too

  • @pinocchiofan same here

  • I HAVE BEEN TOTALLY FALLEN IN LOVE WITH THIS STORYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!

    :D

    I just.......

I quess this is my favourite story of all time :D

  • ..I keep picturing Winnie the Pooh. Seriously, Jim Cummings, why did you use the same voice for the Cheshire cat as you did for Winnie the Pooh?

  • Oh thanks, now that you said that I cant get winnie out my head!

  • @piscesswimmer5 why use the same voice? that's Jim Cummings' Sterling Holloway voice impression.

  • Woah, that song is kinda cool XD

  • can you please send me a download link? or just post it please!!

  • the clip or the song?

i can mail the song to you, just send me your email!!

  • send me the song! please

  • you can download vdownloader and then you can download it of the youtube link!! ^^

  • thank you soooo much again you are a life saver :)

  • I think it could have fit the movie, though, two songs for the Chestire Cat, even if we all love him, would get the story a bit too long, no? D:

(Or if you put that one, put others sgons too, for balance! Like the song with the unicorn and the other thing haha! I heard of it, though I don't know if there's any recordings of it! O: )

  • you know the jabberwoks song i think that there should have at leat had a sign saying beware the jabberwok

  • I LOVE THIS!!! its perfect for the kitty cat

  • Can anybody find the songs or lyrics of another deleted song, called "Curiosity"? I am most certain that it's from the same Disney film.

  • lol the voice of the cat is winnie the pooh's anyone else notice? if anyone mentioned this previously, i apologize but didnt check all the comments.

  • Since there wasn't an original recording of Sterling Holloway for this song, they asked Jim Cummings to sing it instead. He took over Holloway's role of Winnie the Pooh when he passed away, too, so that's why he sounds like him.

  • ghehe, no nobody said it..

    hahahhaa XD

    i never thought of it,,

damn XD haha, your right!! ^.^

  • :3 i love the cheshire cat, obviously quite obviously.

  • Oh, it would be so funny if they made Stephen Fry sing this in the Tim Burton film!

But I'm glad they cut it out of Disney's version, it wouldn't fit at all :)

  • thats true!! ^^

i like the movie how it is now!! ^^

  • I WANT IT BAD, WANT IT BAAAAAAAD

    oh god yes

  • Blue is my fav. color...

But blue is not a good color to him :D

  • photoshop it? XD

  • Huh?

    What do you mean?

  • photoshop him blue

  • OMG Cheshire Cat is my favorite cat character.

    He's so cute...

    I have being thinking...

    Why is he pink?

Why not blue or black or (My ver about him...) lime green?

  • i like it.. when he's pink XD

    ghehe, my favorit color XD

  • omg the cheshire cat looks so cute as a kitten!

  • thats dana -_-

    the can of Alice..

    XD

  • uhh that wasn't the cheshire cat thats alice's cat dinah. it is very cute though.

  • On the Alice in Wonderland DVD they said they cut this song because they wanted the poem "Twas Billig" (from Through the looking glass and what Alice found there) to be in the movie. It was going to be in a song called "beware the Jabberwock" but they cut that song because they were afraid the Jabberwock would be too scary so they gave the chesire cat "Twas Billig" and dropped "I'm Odd" all together

  • yep. he's odd alright.

  • Anyone have this song? :D

I would love to have it with the rest of my disney song collection! :D

Please if you do, PM me! <3

  • I really like this song. And i think Jim Cummings does Sterling Holloway's characters better than he did. I'm glad that they left it out of the movie though. I don't think it would have fit in with the rest of the story.

  • did sterling holoway sing this song?

  • No, sterling holloway was long dead before this was recorded... This was just recently discovered. So no, it was done by Jim Cummings, who currently does all of the former's voices.

  • I love this song! I wish it had been in the movie, it would have been my favorite!

  • Some of that concept art is quite odd, dare I say it, even disturbing...

  • @Scruffy193 That is because it is by David Hall, who had freakier concepts for some of the disney films.

  • I wonder what kind of dance he would have been doing if this was in the movie...that woulda been really cool to see.

  • Probably all colorful like the "Elephants on Parade" song from Dumbo. All the twisty turny effects. Awsome! But I still like the movie.

  • I'm writing a sequel to this movie and this song is in it.
