  • do you still think a computer can never experience a qualia?

  • @Blacklemon67a I know so

  • @DanFrederiksen I intend to prove you wrong some day

  • @Blacklemon67a it's good to think about things but it is entirely impossible to prove me wrong on this.

look at the above. such wonderful adaptation to an extremely complex function. yet how would you even begin to manifest something as seemingly trivial as pain. an if sentence? a multiplication? a for loop? a neural net?

the mechanistic domain simply doesn't have the expressive power to even begin. exactly analogous to how a computer simulated world can never begin to create the physical

  • @DanFrederiksen I believe it is possible for a computer to have experiences because of my knowledge of emergent randomness. I think the infinite amount of possible models of computation shows that the "mechanistic" domain /can/ be expressive. To be honest, I thibk that our universe is fundamentally a simple automata, mostly because I think rule 110 looks like fyneman diagrams.

  • btw where did you hear of my view on qualia?

  • @DanFrederiksen your comments on this one evolution video
