look at the above. such wonderful adaptation to an extremely complex function. yet how would you even begin to manifest something as seemingly trivial as pain. an if sentence? a multiplication? a for loop? a neural net?
the mechanistic domain simply doesn't have the expressive power to even begin. exactly analogous to how a computer simulated world can never begin to create the physical
@DanFrederiksen I believe it is possible for a computer to have experiences because of my knowledge of emergent randomness. I think the infinite amount of possible models of computation shows that the "mechanistic" domain /can/ be expressive. To be honest, I thibk that our universe is fundamentally a simple automata, mostly because I think rule 110 looks like fyneman diagrams.
do you still think a computer can never experience a qualia?
