I was showing off one day flying in 25+ mph winds and purposely did a high rate spinning full throttle death spiral to the ground and pulled up a second to late and smacked the ground doing about 50 mph 1 hour and a roll of duck tape later i was back in business. This is by far my favorite plane to fly because its fast, durable, and agile.
less than a 30c is it normal for these to balance nose heavy? I always want my jets on the nose heavey side but n ot sure on this? any help would be greatly appriciated.
@vizzuleyes check out the Stryker thread on rcgroups.com. There's a ton of info about this plane. Yes, everyone struggles with this plane being nose heavy. A lot of people are moving their electronics and battery back further or adding weight to the back. I haven't tried the side arm launch yet but the videos make is look easy...especially when there is no wind.
@vizzuleyes I put my battery all the way to the front backwards and still give it a couple of clicks down trim so when I give it full throttle the nose stays down and she flys nice and straight for high speed passes or else it plows the air but then Im constantly having to pull up on the elevator or she will want to go down at lower speeds. Does that make sense
@stryker595 Yeah thats a good high speed setup. The packs I run are on the heavy side usually 3s 2650 40/80c Sky lipos. It doesn't help that sky lipos have two metal plates to protect the lipo. Actually they damage them in a crash, the corners pinch. So having mine all the way forward makes me trim it to much, I go for balance over trim, if I have up elevator thats just more drag on the airframe. But I tried a new prop and wow!! APC 6-5.5 and 7-6 both have good points. Thanks for the tip
sandpaper...good tip. Question for ya I fly mainly edf jets this is my first stryker would you recomend the side arm launch as the better way? Also mine is built perfectly yet when balancing its always on the nose heavy side Im not using parkzone batteries. the 3s 2200mAh 25c PZ lipo is 181 grams i fly turnigy and sky lipo the same specs although they are 191 grams. I have over 45 lipos and even my old PZ 3s 1800mAh 15c (no way im flying on 15c) are 140 grams. but there is no way i'm using....
Wow someone that knows how to hand launch these, nice. Awesome save man most people would have lifted off the sticks and gave up, you flew through and probably saved alot of damage.
@vizzuleyes lol...the over hand launches are a little easier with a little head wind...and that day we had plenty of wind. But too much wind makes it almost rip the plane out of your hand while trying to launch...especially if you don't make the finger holes deeper or don't add sandpaper on the grips. I will be trying the side arm wing tip launch next time out.
Ha!! Nice spill. Great to see shes that durable too just take off gain lol.. Have you tried it again? hehe...
What Camcorder you using. I have the same Prob with in/out of focus. What settings were you on? I'm using a SonySR63. had it on Auto focus, but would still come in and out like that every once and awhile. I'm going too try the Landscape mode next time.

@eastcoast78 I was told by multiple people to turn off the Auto Focus to fix this issue. So I'm going to try this next time.
