It's obvious that you don't know what you're talking about.... I am an employee of the Mayan Ranch and I am a Native Texan, one who appreciates having a job to go to and grateful to those who provide me with a way and means. Isn't life good! How about finding somewhere else to spred your negitism, you'll find no pity here.
In 1980, I returned to Bandera to work at the Mayan Dude ranch. My ancestoral home. I discovered Mickey Kalka my distant cousin was the Grand Chef that did all the cooking. Henry Adamietz one of the groundskeepers was my Uncle. I worked as a waitress and bartender that summer. My great-great grandparents came from Poland and built the Catholic church. I can proudly say my family built Bandera. The Hicks came from Iowa and bought the Mayan I think in the 1970's. They were not Texans.
What makes a person a true Texan is how big their hearts are. The Hicks family bought the Mayan in 1951 and still operate it 365 days a year. They have, and continue to do more for Bandera residents and guests than anyone else I can think of. They are truly wonderful people. By the way, if your folks built Bandera... they forgot the sidewalks. Thanks for your comment.
